Mark Gershmehl was a part of one of my favorite Christian bands, WhiteHeart! On this episode we'll discuss my favorite version of Little Drummer Boy from WhiteHeart and how it came about. We will also talk a lot about WhiteHeart, both with stories about the band and lineup changes, and also the inspiration behind some of the songs.
Here's a link to listen to WhiteHeart's version of Little Drummer Boy:

My very first album was Vital Signs by WhiteHeart. I loved it and still do to this day…….so many great albums/songs from this band. Much respect to Mark Gersmehl. Thanks for this interview, as well as the one with Rick Florian. Enjoyed them so much!

They way you were saying "music within the music" is Sooooo spot on! It's something I've always felt with White heart that their music, especially with Gordon, are cinematic; those types of songs you're talking about are art pieces and in a somewhat "prog" type of way but they are SO very artistic. Each of those instrument parts are like brush strokes, more detailed than standard rock.

I like it when Gersh said: "Oh Gosh, No!" @ 8:47, about putting the tape in the cloud.

WOW! I was and am more of a Petra fan but had had some Whiteheart cds. I'm not a genius nor am I the dumbest guy in the room, but listening to this I feel like I was in the presence of Einstein, feeling dumber and smarter at the same time! The creative mind and talent God has given Mark, well I'm just in awe. Needless to say I'll be going back and revisiting Whiteheart as a group and studying the musical God given talent and message of each album. Thank you so much for this inspiring interview.

Hey man, I tuned in to hear about Whiteheart songs, not statues in a museum or birds in the sky or any of that arty jive. And O how I grin and say thanks, Mark and Pastor Josh, for your conversation and insights into Mark's creative process and just all of it actually. And I'm looking forward to Part Two. And if there isn't a Part Two, you can be sure I'll be asking to speak with a manager. 😀

Josh, will you ever consider letting a fan ask a question to some of your guests?

@TheJoshHuismanPodcast prophesy? Ha ha. I met Gordon Kennedy when I was 15. I've always wanted to ask questions about not only his time in white heart, but others as well. My life was greatly impacted by White Heart. Anyway...I don't know if you ever do a RUclips live type of thing.
