White Heart is one of my favorite all time groups. Rick's singing voice is forever stuck in my head.😊 I love that even he had to think hard to remember some of the lyrics😅 . Freedom is my favorite album, only second to The Moody Blues Days of Future Past! 🎉🎉

Jesus Freak is still my favorite Christian rock songs of all time.

Back in the 80s, when I switched to Christian music because secular music celebrated sin, I didn't care if it was cheesy. It allowed me to escape music that wasn't edifying to my soul and walk. Today, in addition to worship music on my playlist, I have classic Christian Contemporary music that includes Ashton, Point of Grace, Becker, 4 Him, Petra, White Heart, and so many more (including Smitty!)

They way you were saying "music within the music" is Sooooo spot on! It's something I've always felt with White heart that their music, especially with Gordon, are cinematic; those types of songs you're talking about are art pieces and in a somewhat "prog" type of way but they are SO very artistic. Each of those instrument parts are like brush strokes, more detailed than standard rock.

Tales of Wonder is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish!

Jesus Freak was very good but Supernatural was them at their peak. They went out on their best effort.

Had the pleasure of meeting Rick and other band members on the Power House tour and again on Tales of Wonder. I want to thank Rick and the band for being so cool and kind to me...a kid who really needed it badly at the time. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!😂

Saw the video for "Unchain" around 95-96ish....was instantly hooked.

I worked Atlanta Fest back when it was happening and would interact with many of the musicians and speakers backstage and in the kitchen area. So many of the artists were superficial and downright phony in their walk with Jesus. I enjoyed interacting with those who were genuine and walked the walk. Rick and those in the group were very much the real thing. I remember being at the front of the stage one day where the group was playing during daytime when AF was at Six Flags. We had just removed the plastic from the monitors and stage equipment follow a rain storm. Rick comes flying on stage to start the show and slipped on the plastic and ended up on his back with his legs dangling over the edge. He didn’t miss a beat and started singing laying there at the front of the stage while attempting not to laugh. I wish I could attend a Whiteheart show now. My favorite song of WH is Once and For All. Good to see you Rick.

I'd like to speak to a manager. I need to demand an encore or two. Thanks, Pastor Josh, for this fabulous walk and talk with Andy and not against either of you but I do protest against anyone calling the CCM scene cheesy or lame back in the day. I mean, maybe a little but cheesy becomes souvenirs and everybody collects something. And it is okay to celebrate that the entire scene was birthed when Top-40 radio was at its zenith and all the excitement over the latest by the Carpenters or Grand Funk or Gladys Knight became the same for CCM artists. And it was epic then and now in retrospect. And I still have an after-show photo from backstage at the 4Him and Point of Grace concert at Hylton Chapel in Northern Virginia. Everyone is there, even a cheesy deejay like me in a radio station T-shirt. And hey, I had to represent. 😀
