Thanks a lot! I have been using it to track my Electric bike (in case of theft). I linked it to my Home Assisstant and it's working flawlessly for 2 weeks. I am so impressed by the range covered by those tiny chips, it manages to get a connection from my underground garage.
I stopped being as interested in openhaystack I can buy a Sualio tag for $3.20 or so, a perfect airtag clone. How's the battery life with this? There's rechargable batteries that are that size too. I wanted to use the Nordic nrf as it's a lot cheaper than it was before but now I can get it pre assembled. Check it out if you are just interested in airtags. Love your vids.
I would love to use airtags, but not with the Apple ecosystem as I avoid that like the plague. I hope Android compatible options will be available soon as well for a same price point, delivering the same functionality without having to DIY servers. DNS's etc etc.

Nice one! Good to see a cheaper and good enough alternative.
I wish there was a version compatible with Android Find My Device.
Oh the cheapskates, yes, the cheapskates. Rather chop your hand off than buy an Apple device eh?
Any idea whats needed for that?
@AlexSouthwell not sure, it's an open standard I think.
The most interesting part here should be Macless OpenHaystack but was not covered :)
It is linked in the description, this video is really just about the Device part otherwise it would get loooong 😀
Simple and useful. Thanks!
Very nice, I need to try this.
Do these air tags get linked to your appleid on both the mac and macless version of openhaystack?
What is the processing capacity and other particulars of this microcontroller? Can you piggyback messaging over the openhaystack network?
What about Androids open source tags?
Very nice hack! And the price is right too. It uses BT, right? I think real AirTags use UWB so they're much more precise.
Correct, this is just BLE without UWB👍
@@atc1441 is there a supported device that has uwb?
Hi is this source firmware available to look at anywhere?
Will this work with esp 32 ?
Can I register these in the ios find my app?
no, it works only with Macless/OpenHaystack
I've just ordered a FindMy compatible AirTag clone from aliexpress for 2,39€ with a free shipping.
Nice.
Looks awesome! Quick question, will this work with macless haystack?
may i flash this firmware to Mi LYWSD03MMC using UART?

I wonder if this functionality can be added to the MIJIA LYWSD03 T/RH sensors making them stealthy combo...
It can :)
I try to flash firmware to Mi LYWSD03MMC, but there are no advertise of public key :(
maybe i need to erase flash first or something like this?
Did you succeed in flash firmware to Mi LYWSD03MMC
Did you create your own custom firmware for this? There's only an official firmware for the nRF51822 and ESP32 platform. Just curious!
Yes, its a custom firmware 👍
@@atc1441 Is there any chance it could be open sourced? I can't seem to find it in your GitHub.
Nice
