    From director Andrew Haigh. One night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal), which punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is preoccupied with memories of the past and finds himself drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up, and the childhood home where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), appear to be living, just as they were on the day they died, 30 years before.
    Cast: Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell, and Claire Foy

      Harry died way before that, so the ketamine Adam took was probably not real. The clothes in his death scene was exactly the same clothes in which he went down to talk to Adam drunk and alone that first time. 😞

    I'll share my theory about the movie with you happily. I'll bet you anything that this film is about the romance between Mark O'Toole and Paul Rutherford during Frankie Goes To Hollywood days. When Rutherford was unhappy about being cast as second fiddle to Holly Johnson, who he always detest and O'Toole, who was in the closet shared that feeling so they found each other very quickly. You can see in the old footages that they were very fond of each other and only cared about each other. Which wouldn't have been a problem, but they were very unprofessional even during concerts and TV appearances because they couldn't control themselves. I think their behaviour must have been very disturbing for Holly and led him to quit and the split of the band. I think they're still in a relationship with the blessing of Mark and Paul's 'partners', who I think appear as Adam's parents in the movie.

    • @sarkanysusu2050
      @sarkanysusu2050 2 месяца назад

      @@lukess.s Think outside the box. In the film, FGTH is featured several times and not only with the song, but also with the poster on the wall. I think Adam's parents and his lover only appear as ghost to make Rutherford's or O'Toole's character not so easily recognizable, but they can show his relationship with them. I think their partners who may just be good friends of them and helped keep their relationship a secret are apperar in Adam's parents. Their main purpose I think was to show how they fell in love and how intimate and sensual their relationship was no matter what frames they put their story in. By the way, the actors are the spitting images of Mark and Paul, and anyone who saw them together in the old footages must have seen that they were inseparable, crazy about each other. Clarie Foy, who plays the mother, looks like Mark's "wife". I think the end of the film means that they're still secretly together, that is, one of them is invisible, a ghost in the other's life.

      @@pawdaw I don't know, it seemed to me that his and Paul's relationship was an open secret. They were always up each other's asses and half naked cuddling, laughing, trying to be near each other and I think acting unprofessional. I believe they were crazy about each other, but they could have stood for performances and not pretended Holly didn't exist and hurt and humiliated him with their behavior.
