- I apologize for the wait, the long video, and my even longer finger nails, haha. Covid put me a week behind! If this helps you, please consider donating to fund my project haha :P
*update* If you are getting error code 0000E000 during the verification process, I believe it is because the chip has data there that is unique to each board. I have now fixed 4 boards and each one gives me the same error. The only board that verifies correctly is the board that I took the firmware file from. All 4 boards still worked after that error, so I believe it is just a serial number or something like that. Sorry for that not being clear in the video!

Software needed:
Asprogrammer 2.0.3a (the one I used)
github.com/nof...
My Working firmware:
drive.google.c...
Programmer:
Any CH341a chip programmer with the SOIC8 clip. You can get them on ebay, amazon, aliexpress, etc. Shouldn't cost more than $20 or so shipped.
tinyurl.com/ch... *You can get any CH341a programmer as long as it has the SOIC8 clip with it. Doesn't have to be this specific one.*
Applicable LG Soundbar models: SN8YG, GX, SP8YA, SN7Y, SPD75A, SN7Y, SN11RG, SPN5B-W, SPN8-W, SN9YG, SN6Y, SN10YG, SN5Y, SN6Y, SN7R, SPN5-W
Replacement part: EBR89625801
At first, following the steps brought back the green light for a short time, but eventually didn’t work. I did get the verification error but it seemed like not everything was written to the chip, as the whole process ended after about 0:01, which seemed way too quick.
So I did 3 of the 4 steps (unprotect, erase, program) manually one by one and just skipped the verification. And voilà, the sub is working again 🎉
Thank you so much for this tutorial! You saved me a lot of grief and helped me save the subwoofer from going to the trash.
Sending you a donation now!
Thank you 🫡
This comment should be pinned! I was so glad to find this as I encountered the same error and could not get it working. Anyway thank you so much to the author of the video and to this commenter!
Just bought a bad Woofer ..Can u still fix
Followed the instructions including the comment to do it all manually. So far so good! Thanks!
please pin this, this is the solution
Ive been without my sub for several months now. Amazon delivered my programmer and within 15 minutes I had it assembled and programmed and my sub is working again. This video is seriously the best! I thought the power died on my board but I didnt see any evidence of blown capacitors or anything and was about to order a new board when I just happened to come across your video the other day and after watching it immediately ordered the programmer and Im so glad I did!
Thank you for your encouragements I am waiting for the programmer to arrive. ZJ95000 did an amazing job he definitely deserves a donation.
I had Zach flash the motherboard on my SPN5B-W subwoofer. He tested it and shipped it back, quick turnaround. After I reinstalled it in the subwoofer, and paired with the soundbar, it's back to life! I'm a DJ and mix mostly House, Trance and Drum & Bass music. I rely on the soundbar and sub to critique my mixes before I post them on RUclips, MixCloud and Soundcloud, so I really need the bass to work. I figure Zach saved me about $35-40. Thanks so much, my friend! 👍
Thank you from an 80 year old lady in Oregon. What fast service. Your fix did the trick and everything works perfectly again. I so appreciated your video, and emails to walk me through the soundbar driver update. Definitely 10 stars * * * * * * * * * *
Thank you Barbara!
Worked perfectly! Awesome video and only $13 for parts on Amazon plus a donation. Worth every penny and then some. THANK YOU
Thank you so much!!
Everything works as per your instructions, subwoofer is back to life 🙏🏻 There wa no updates performed prior to this issue, which leads me to believe that LG presets the date in the chip itself to stop working after warranty period is expired. In my case 2 days out of warranty. Didn't expect that from the company like LG 😡
i can't actually believe it, i ordered the programmer from aliexpress and it took me less than 2 minutes to fix a subwoofer that wasn't working and i was about to throw away because no repair shop could find out what was wrong. you are a total lifesaver mate!!
🖤
Great video, thank you. I just got my kit delivered so I am hoping it goes well, I am optimistic having watched this a couple of times.

I was on the same boat as many others without a subwoofer for months. To the point I was about to by a new soundbar system. Honestly thank you so much this video just saved me so much money and I am able to enjoy my soundbar system again. And it only cost me 10 dollars. Honestly super simple instructions if you are afraid to try it I recommend you do, only took me 10min
I've had this sub dead for over a year with no lights or anything that came on. I figured was power surge that got it and LG said wouldn't fix.
I found this vid and pulled my sub out of the garage, collecting dust and ready to be trashed to give it a whirl for $15 since not a big deal if didn't fix it. I was astonished it read from the chip, and even more so after re-programming that the green light came back On again. Found my old soundbar and plugged everything back in, and my mouth hit the floor as the sub came back to life like magic and paired back to everything with no hassle. Thank you so much for making this vid dude! Saved me a ton of $ by just throwing it in the garbage since LG makes it u can't just pair any model sub back to that soundbar.

Great job with this tutorial. It's great to see a solution that saves equipment from reaching landfills because of such a trivial issue that's easy to fix and sharing it with the rest of the world. My hat's off to you. :)
Hey, thx for the tutorial! I just got scammed on eBay with a „working“ soundbar+subwoofer combo. But luckily I already had a programmer on hand, so it was only a matter of minutes until it worked again.
Definitely works for the LG DSN8YGs subwoofer!
@@ld44hbxhkhr57 I need help with mines asap
My sub has been inop for at least a year! Got it fixed in about 20 minutes!!! Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge!!!
Here to say that this video is amazing. Just fixed my subwoofer for a grand total of $10. Was super close to impulse buying a new soundbar and subwoofer but found this video and fixed it. Thank you so much. Tip coming your way
Thanks for posting this. Quick fix for under $20. This is exactly how it should be, sharing information to help each other and not just making a buck off others misfortunes. P.S. Wow LG. Really?
🖤
Greatly appreciate your video, My sub died a year or 2 ago and I came across the other guy's site a while back but couldn't bring myself to spending that much. I saw your video a couple of months ago and my wife go the part for me for Christmas. Sub is now working and my sound system is complete again.
So glad it helped! Merry Christmas 🙂
Mexico here! I just fixed my SPN5B-W with this and a $10 programmer from amazon. THANKS A LOT I WAS ABOUT TO DISCARD THIS SOUNDBAR
😁
I ordered the usb programmer for about $15 from amazon and using your tutorial I managed to get my subwoofer working again. Even with the Tip/Donation included this is far less expensive than a new PCB or the alternative service that is being offered elsewhere. Thank you!
Thank you so much! You're awesome
This worked for me too. The lever on the ZIF socket would not stay closed, so that slowed me down until I figured out that I needed to hold it closed manually. I also needed strong magnification to read the chip marking. I bought the LG sound bar and sub-woofer as refurbished from Amazon a couple of years ago, so I assumed I got ripped off, but it was LG's fault and you fixed it for me!
Got the programming kit this morning and followed the video and I'm up and running again
Glad it worked! 🙂
It worked perfectly for my SPY8A and its wireless subwoofer. I hope people trust you and as you said in your introduction, you're doing an honest help, charging nothing and thus, just helping. Thank you so much, best wishes.
Glad it helped! Thank you 🙂
Thanks if this is real, because i have trust issues, because i failed once and got virus. hope this help and not destroying my pc
@@peterp.4511 it's real. I've fixed about 50 of them at this point.
@@FiveStaxX Hey man thanks for respondinh, i rly aprreciate it. i got this error thing where it says Error 0000E0000. do you have some advice? someone in the comments said, it still could work. (comment on your vids from @adamgee9134 )
Thanks heaps, I've had a few issues with the bass speaker losing connection then one day I tried to press the reset button and it just started permanently blinking. I found your fix and purchased everything you recommended and it took over a month to arrive. I spent a few minutes following your walk-through and found it so very easy. I then reassembled and didn't get any change. Then I tried to press the reset button again and realised it didn't move. I disassembled the entire thing, taking out the board and removing the reset button from the case and reassembled again. Now it's working perfectly. So either way I'm sending you some cash because if you didnt do this, I would never have fixed this and the entire system (soundbar, subwoofer and rear speaker system) would have ended up as tech trash. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Toby!
Hey it was a great tutorial but I am pretty sure my chip was dead and the quick turnaround with you fixing the issue was amazing and not as expensive as I thought it was gonna be! Thank you so much!
I'll try this if it works I'll make sure to leave a tip for you, thanks very much for this educational video. I'm so annoyed with LG quality right now, what a nightmare. Ended up buying another soundbar that's pricey but I've been eyeing for a while anyway. Still would be nice to salvage this one instead of it going to the trash.
Worked like a charm!
I have two LG SN6Y soundbars and two LG SBN5-B subwoofers. One had no lights at all, the other would flash green, sometimes solid but no sound. Got the "RUMBLE BACK..Great support as well...Thx Z
Thanks so much, this worked perfectly for me! Bought the CH341A off Amazon for $25 and this tutorial fixed my SPN5B-W dead subwoofer immediately! One note: When re-programmed the chip on my existing board it only took like 3 seconds, which I thought was too fast for it to have worked, but it did. And I got the same "0000E000" error above as well, but still worked fine. Now to try get some money back from LG for this mess, lol...
My LG SPN5-W subwoofer died a while ago and I was looking for a local store to try and fix it, until I stumbled across your video. I can't explain how happy I am, thanks a lot! Easy to follow steps and everything works perfectly again.
Thank you! My sub of the same model in the vid had been clipping out for a long time, then one day I realized it was just gone. No LED, nothing. I thought for sure the power supply or something inline with the power had died. I stumbled upon your comment in another tutorial, heard out what you had to say and decided to give a shot. Very good tutorial, no steps missed. I got to the end, ran the programmer and after one second i got the 0000E000 error and was like damn. But then I remembered seeing the error in your caption. Reassembled and the green light was blinking. I had to restart the soundbar, it took about 15 seconds and the blink turned solid green with the sub happily booming through my apartment. You are awesome!
😁
Coming back to say it all worked perfectly for me on my LG SN7Y (Eur). I followed each step with gaps in between to check i had followed it correctly.
As is mentioned as a possibility in the video I got an error message after programming but I carried on and it worked first time.
Having been without the woofer for months I am so happy to have it back!
Thanks so much. I sent you a paypal donation. (Not much but all I can afford right now. Enough for a pizza and a beer maybe)
Thanks again and thanks for doing the work that LG and others should be doing.
You are a legend! Mine had a solid green light but no sound. I did exactly as your video and fixed it!!! Thank you!!
Many Thanks for this. Great tutorial. Programmer cost around £8. Took me about 30 mins using your tutorial.
You made this incredibly easy to follow. THANK YOU for saving me a ton of money by showing me how to fix it myself!
Glad it helped!!
thanks..your video safe a lot of people from wasting their money to repair or replace
thanks a lot
You're the best, this went over like a charm, from no-lights to alive and pairing in 10-15 minutes. I didn't take my board off the back wall of the subwoofer, which seemed to work great for having safe places to hold and a quick repair. It did look like they had burned off part of the IC numbers, but I could read enough to infer it was probably the same as yours. Just sent a tip your way.
Thank you so much! Very glad i could assist 🙂
Amazing work bro. Ordered the kit from Amazon after receiving it and less than 20 mins later i had my Sub working again. Awesome work and thanks for sharing.
Glad it helped 🙂
This fixed my SPN5-W sub woofer that was not connecting back to the soundbar (just flashing green non stop). Got the programmer for $18 CAD. Less than 10 minutes later it was back up and running after flashing. Thanks so much man!
This thing works! I had to do the unprotect, erase, and program steps manually, but other than that, this methods works 100%. I had the issue where the unit would flash the green light forever, never pairing. Amazon had me with the overnight shipping on the chip programmer
Much appreciated, brother. I know next to nothing about electronics and I am still not sure what I did, but the directions were easy to follow and it fixed my sub. Thanks again!
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much for the video. Did mine last night... 60 seconds later i was up and running and only spent the $13 for amazon parts!
I finally got my programmer today and within probably 5 minutes I had my sub working again. Will be sending a donation for sure, thanks heaps bro
Thank you! Glad it helped 😁
wanted to just say thank you, this worked for me and my bricked LG Subwoofer. FYI when applying the 'good' bin file to overwrite, we did get error on it ... still worked tho and now I see your update that the error is probably some kind of board specific code.... again, it still worked for me and I'm very thankful for your video!
Thank you. Glad i could help. 🙂
I just want to thank you very much for sharing this how-do video! You helped fixing a over-£100 subwoofer with something under £12! If not having this shown to us, I would most likely throw this subwoofer away and buy a new one!
Glad i could help 🙂
Dude, there is no possible way to read the writing on that chip. I just entered the value that you entered, and it worked. Thanks!
I have to use my phone's flashlight and angle it just right haha
Thank you very much for providing the instructions and the firmware file to fix the LG SPN5B-W Subwoofer. It saved mine from the dumpster. Awesome! I donated 5 dollars as a token of gratitude.
Thank you so much!
I followed your steps and it worked great. First cable i got was faulty but amazon replaced it next day and only took me five minutes from there. many thanks!
It worked like a charm!. Thanks a ton for finding time to make this video. I was able to fix my subwoofer for about $10. Some people are charging $70 for this simple fix.
Glad it helped
Actually it did work. Mine took less than 3 seconds to reprogram so when you said it takes a couple minutes I assumed it didn't work. Thanks for the video. Saved me a ton of money.
Glad it helped 🙂
My hero!!! Thank you so much! Your tutorial worked perfectly for me and allowed me to repair my home theater at a lower cost!!!
THANK YOU! I remember looking into this problem when mine first broke but I couldn't find a working bios source. Glad I looked back into fixing and found your video.
Absolute display of master class right here. Thank you!

i vouched for this guy. Just got my board back and works like new. Thanks again.
What a legend! Had a bricked sub for 6 months, tried multiple repair shops in the UK, and no one wants to know. Saved my subwoofer with such a simple fix
donation sent cheers bro. 💪
Thank you so much!
Top, many thanks! My Subwoofer is now again working perfectly! Many greetings from Germany, it is a pleasure to have a bass sound again. I will donate asap!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great guide. sent you some money. I just wanted to add that I was able to follow this guide to reflash an older SPL8-W sub in order to get it to work with a SN10YG sound bar. The sub was working fine with an older SL10YG sound bar but after flashing, it will now pair with SN10YG.
Add me to the tally of people who were helped by this video. I saw the magneto stuff months ago and even contacted him but I couldn’t justify the shipping cost when I knew it must be a relatively simple process, if he would just share the f*cking file. Big props to you for doing what he should have done in the first place.
As for LG… I’d happily join a class action suit against them. I will actively avoid buying anything from them in the future and will tell everyone I know about this incident, every time LG comes up in conversation.
I’ve been involved on the software side of doing updates like this and I know the feeling of pushing out an update that messes up users devices. The fact that it was even possible to screw up an update so bad that the hardware was bricked and needed this level of intervention is only part 1 of how bad this looks for LG. That they continue to gaslight everyone and pretend there isn’t a problem is why I will never trust them again.
Great tutorial and a really simply fix for the small cost of a programmer, I sent you a small donation to thank-you for your efforts amd for sharing with everyone, you saved me the cost of replacing my soundbar.
Thank you so much! Glad I could help 🙂
This worked perfectly! So glad I searched for a fix instead of tossing it out and shopping for a new one. Thanks from Australia!
Any chance I can send you my sub to fix? I am also in Australia
@@SOulDie22 I'm guessing it'd be a lot cheaper and quicker to do it yourself. There were heaps of chip programmers on Amazon for about $20 with postage. The only things I struggled with were installing the drivers on my work laptop and reading the tiny writing on the chip.
Thanks a lot, it gave me the error 0000E000 during the verification process as you mentioned but it worked, all done in 2s, same IC model.
Perfect!! thank you sir! the auto unprotect, erase, write and verify function wasn't working on mine, so i just hit the write button and that worked. woofer is up and running again!
😁😁
Worked like a charm and saved my SN8YG subwoofer. Thanks for the great diy guide
Worked for me! I got error code 0000E000, but it still worked anyway. It took a couple minutes to pair after reassembling, but is working great now. Thanks for posting! Throwing you $5
Glad it helped! 🙂
My subwoofer had no green light. I ordered the programmer from the link. When doing the flash the clamp came off the chip. Tried to reflash error message. When reading the bios data shows all FF.Clamp will not stay on.Ended up pressing down on the clamp the whole time. Did the clean unplugged the programmer then reflashed. This time took the flash. Now working hope this helps. Updated the firmware on the soundbar with the app.Thank you donated.
Glad it worked! Thank you 😌
Thank you sir, following this guide and the files you have provided has fixed my sub! Also has taught me a valuable lesson to never purchase another LG product. Thank you
World needs more people like you. Enjoy the tip!
Thank you so much!!
Thank you!! 🎉 you’re a great person!
One thing to add, I personally had to erase first, unplug, then write! But your instructions were spot on! Thank you
Glad it worked! Thank you for the information 🙂
Mine had the error code 0000E000 every time even doing it separately, playing with the unprotect options but there were a few lines starting at 0000E000 that wouldn't erase. However after writing unplugging and testing it works fine. Truly a MVP! Also I almost fell for Magneto's BS saw that on YT and Reddit anything anyone you've helped can do to help with that mod battle let us know.
Hello sir, i got the same Error 0000E0000, could u help me out? greetings.
Thanks Dude. Followed your instructions and brought one of my subwoofers back to life! However I had another one, that keeps failing on verification.
If it's 000E0000, it's still working
@@FiveStaxX I keep getting “Verification error on address: 00000000”
Worked exactly as described but I had to program it twice. After the first program the light kept blinking red. After the second program it paired and works great.
Glad it helped! 🙂
Another soundbar saved from going into the dump. Thank you!
Thank you so much, my subwoofer is working again (my problem was the green light blinking without pairing with the soundbar).
You are the man!!
Hey man, just want to let you know that my subwoofer is now connected!!! Thank you soo much for this video! LG SN9 - subwoofer no connexion. I erase the code on the eeprom and reprogram qith the original file that I save and now its working! Apart EEPROM : 25Q80CSIG.
Glad I could help 🙂
Thank you for the guide and especially the working BIOS file. I had to update the soundbar firmware or it would re-brick the subwoofer after pairing. It is a little surprising that perfectly working audio hardware can unexpectedly commit software suicide, especially considering I had never performed any firmware updates in my ~2 years of ownership.
@agalk do you mind sharing how you updated your soundbar’s firmware?
@@shaquillecarter5791 I used the "LG Sound Bar" Android app. After establishing a Bluetooth connection, you can download and transmit the latest firmware. Perhaps I should have cracked it open to backup the initial version just in case...
@@agalk thanks for explanation, I’ve been using the iOS app so that must be why I couldn’t see a firmware update. The back up would have been a good idea though!
I also got the 0000E000 error but it worked fine after unplugging and testing. Thanks!!
🥰
Hi, Massive thank you for this video! I'm buying a faulty sn6y today, The sub is dead, apparently! I ordered the programmer from Amazon already, and we will see if I will get lucky :D
Thank you for this video and working bios very easy to follow. last time I buy LG anything.
Very welcome. LG still has some amazing products, but they definitely messed up here.
YOOOO thank you so much. I got the error code listed in the description and it did work! I have a couple notes for those that will try this after me: I had to order another one because my clip wouldnt get a good connection, one of my programmers also caught on fire but on the 3rd attempt i did it without any flaws. Thank you for your video!! Really appreciate this!
Glad it worked! 😁
It's worked for lg SPN5B-W. Thank you very much, love you.

Finally! Cheers mate, I will spread the word!
Hi,
Thanks for telling me about your video, I wish I knew about this prior to changing my board out. Like I mentioned on my video, I still have an issue with the sub cutting in and out periodically. At the moment it isn't to bad, but it is annoying. If I would of known about you, I would of tired it myself or just pay you the $30 to do it for me. I think that would be the best bet for anyone with that issue. Thanks again for watching and commenting on my video. I'd rather send people to you, so you can fix it right and make some money while you're at it.
Thanks! Hope it can help more people
He fixed mine…awesome job and ez to work with. Couldn’t b happier. Tyvm
Thanks Bill!
Big thank you for this fix! Give this guy some money if you can!
Thanks Todd! Glad it helped 🙂
It really worked for me in a short time. Thanks a lot bro! Finally I see the green light. A great video. I just wonder if this would work temporarily or not. I just saw in another video that you need to replace the eeprom, otherwise just flashing it would make work temporarily, namely for a few months until it dies.
I would appreciate your opinion on this point.
He's just trying to scare everyone into sending him the boards so he can keep making money now that my video was showing everyone how to fix it themselves. Only 5-10% of the boards I've fixed have had bad chips.
Excellent tutorial, thank you. I did get the verification error but it still worked. Thanks
Thanks a lot, worked First try.. also i had the error 0000E000 on erasing and Verifikationen so dont get fooled by that message
