I think you should specify Money Market Funds, not just Mutual Funds in general. Money Market Funds were roughly tracking 20% returns last year and your principal (what you invested) remains secure. Not all mutual funds can boast of such.

The reason being that the growth of the manufacturing sector, is likely to be anaemic in 2025; Inflation rate is expected in the upward trend. At least in the first quarter; while CBN is likely to sustain interest rate hike. Bottom line, there’s no consistency in Nigeria regulatory frameworks. Anyway, I appreciate your perspective in stocks and real estate markets; especially in urban areas. Let’s not forget the last quarter of 2025 when politicians will be warming up for party primaries ahead of 2026-2027 general elections. This’ll likely impact the flow of FX.

I'll suggest you try dollar mutual funds and not Nigerian because I did that and for about 5 months, no interest was added. I just withdrew my money and invested in foreign stocks.

A 70k minimum wage today is less in value than 18k of the past. A bag of rice was less rhan 18k minimum wage. But today, a bag of rice is far above 70k minimum wage. Not all states are paying the 70k. NACCIMA is lamenting . They can't borrow from banks for production. The interest rate is too high. We need to stop the unrealistic expectation and face the reality of poor governance and corruption. The budget is littered with inessential recurrent expenditures.
