Yes the sound is great. All the equipment from the 70s and 80s were beautiful and well made. Now for a long time i use a Marantz 6300 turntable and a Marantz amplifier 2238 with the original boxes from Marantz HD440 a great set. and of course don't forget the element de grado prestige 3 red MM
