  • Fly is definitely the hardest stroke to teach and even harder to modify or fix.

    You can clearly see the common flaws, such as the hands going in to the head, hips are dropping significantly, legs are very wide spread at the kick and timing is way off.
    The Fly needs very good core stability along with high coordination and water connection to get that rhythm to avoid resistance. And in most 11 year olds we usually have none of the that.

    Since I can’t fully develop core strength and stability in two hours, what we worked on is AWARENESS (Where should my hips be and how can my body know and work subconsciously to keep it at the correct level).
    We’ve managed to fix
    ✅ The wide kick (pre-fatigue)
    ✅ We have a better rhythm and the second kick started to come into play
    ✅ There is also a significant drop in time
    In an upcoming reel, I’ll show you how I created the awareness to raise the hips to reach the improvement in Video 2.
