These are 2 friends of mine, who are actually dancing to a song called Rock n Roll Papa. Filmed in 2009 at a Summertime Swing Festical. For those who thought it was original footage, no, it's dubbed. But, I know they'd appreciate the sentiment....
Wow I though they were professionals for sure, amazing team. Makes sense that it's from 2009 didn't really have the oldie feel to it, moves were just too smooth.
The world was a much warmer place when we all danced! There is medicine for the spirit when mankind takes time to dance instead of staring at a screen.
As a jazz player for many years I played and listened to a tune called "Tune Up" writen by Miles Davis. As the biggest Junior Walker fan in the world I somehow as a kid had never heard this song by him. Then I heard this song on RUclips. "Tune Up" by Junior Walker. I don't listen to the Miles Davis "Tune Up" anymore. Maybe one day I will again. But it doesn't do for/to me what this "Tune Up" does.
Berry Gordy was smart enough to sign Junior to the Motown family of labels, giving it the unpolished,gritty soul it otherwise lacked.A killer track!!!!
That is a outstanding instrumental theme from Junior Walker and the All stars. What a upbeat hit. I'm a Motown person since high school. Rock on Junior Walker. Crystal Jones 1-1-23.
So many memories of 60's all nighters at Sheffield's King Mojo and Nottingham's Dungeon club, thank god we've got these tunes from Motown, Atlantic, Stax,, Chess and many more.

I am a Tennor Sax player & singer, like Jr.Walker. Had my own group, back in the day & always wanted to play Jr. Walkers hits, especially ( What does it take), & also Shotgun. But I thoroughly enjoyed ( tune up ). Once in awhile, I will get together with my friends. Maybe I can still learn & preform these tunes. Thank you so much, for replaying them.
@@divinetiming1005 sure that's right I work at the golden corral.on my days I work I go in a hour early just to take and play music on the outside and all the music I play everyone loves it from the kids of all racist too the grown ups even the people that don't speak English be trying to think me for bringing back the oldies but goodies even though I'm black I play all kinds of music and iam the only one the owners will let play music on the inside or outside some of the customers won't go in to eat or or go home until I go inside the music I play brought a lot of smiles 😁
Wow .. one of the best things Ive seen posted on U Tube. This was a big popular tune at the 6Ts 100 Club Niters.. "Back in the Day". . :-) and it never failed to get the place rocking. One of my all time favs and put with those Dancers just brings it alive. Two cool dudes doing their thing.. Nice one Mike. Keep the Faith. R
I wouldn't class this as Northern Soul, but that's what led me here. OMG.. What a stunning partnership. The combo between them puts STRICTLY TO SHAME. If I could dance 5% this good I'd be in seventh heaven. AWESOME
Betcha dollar to a donut this couple married bought a house in the suburbs and raised 5 kids. Looking back they probably wish they could still swing as well as they were here in the video 😎
