I know a lot people look forward to seeing their favorite N64 games, but I LOVE seeing the more obscure games like this too! It can be really hard to find information on a lot of games like this, so I really appreciate that your videos keep a historical record of them.
ThaB, I can't believe you played through this entire game without using any of the secondary weapons, haha. Before missions, I think you select a secondary, and then you can hold down A to charge up, then release A when it beeps to fire. There's a nuke, a laser, a flak cannon, and probably other stuff I'm forgetting.
This game got pretty abysmal review scores back in the day and I never cared enough to try it out. Thanks for playing this, spared me from doing so plus I finally know what this game is all about. Thank you!
One of the cool things about watching this challenge is seeing some games i remember not wanting to rent based on the boxart. This game looked like some Military Helicopter Sim or something, yeah i didnt even look at the back of the box! I never rented it. Seeing it was an on rails space shooter with a wacky plot, i would have loved this back in the day, and you can beat it in a weekend rental too!
There was no gun for N64 (or GameCube for that matter) because demand was low, with the technology mostly being relegated to arcade units, and the emergence of rear-projection TVs made the technology difficult to implement.
I remember playing this back in the day with my friend and his two brothers. The multiplayer was actually pretty fun, a bit chaotic with 4 crosshairs on the screen.
i think the creepy face is supposed to be like that face that they supposedly found on mars in the 70s but it was all just shadows, look it up, very interesting optical illusion.
I've heard of a bunch of these games before (cause I'm a huge dork) but this is one I legitimately have never seen or heard of anyone talking about. This is why I love this series!
I remember getting this game from a "Grabbeltisch", where they just throw games into a basket and sell them for ~20 D-Mark (roughly 10$) or less, I chose this over Virtual Chess and initially I was disappointed because it was like Star Fox light, but back in the day, you didn't have much choice so I played the hell out of it. I couldn't speak english back then, so I didn't understand the story and I didn't know you could dodge with the C-buttons, making stage 4 ridiculously hard, but when I learned to dodge it felt like the easiest game ever... still, the last 2 levels gave me a hard time... but yeah, one should get Star Fox instead, you just have more game with that.
@@continuallyblessed44 aidyn chronicles, i love this game... i think he will hate how slow the character moves lol but it's one of my favorite RPGs of all time.
Probably gonna have to wait a few years. He's streaming 90 games ahead of the videos and still hasn't gotten Ogre Battle yet. He beat Knife Edge: Nose Gunner over 10 months ago, and at the rate of one video per week he won't be putting up the latest games he's beaten until 2025.
I used to play this game with my brother a LOT back in the day, I don’t think I ever necessarily liked it but it was one of the only games we had so we rolled with it
Yeah Thab doesn't seem huge on that genre of game but as a Pokemon fan Puzzle League was LEGIT. I still have my copy and bust it out every now and then just for a few matches. Fun and relaxing puzzle game prior to the modern era where now games of that genre are all on smartphones and stuffed with microtransactions.
I actually liked the OG Tetris Attack better...Even if just for the better feeling controller...I remember renting Puzzle League back in the day and liking it pretty well...but for a re-skinned SNES game...there was very little content IIRC...but multiplayer was always a blast...
Fun fact: Japanese doesn’t do plurals the way we do in English. To do plurals in their character based language, you add the character for “many” or “some”. So, “dollar” becomes “many dollar” not “dollars.” This is perhaps why a direct translation makes it seem odd to us-10000 point!
Fun fact: this is one of the few N64 games that's completely unplayable on emulators. It's due to some hard-to-fix timing bugs that only majorly affect this game and cause it to go super fast. Which is a shame since this is the one game on the N64 that would be way better played with a mouse.
Whoa...next week is gonna be Fuuuuuuunnnn...Pokemon Puzzle League is basically a reskinned Tetris Attack...I wore out multiple controllers playing TA...especially when you get to the harder modes and the AI just starts dumping block after block onto you...but it might be the most zen game ever in a way...I played it so much, I eventually went into a kind of trance state where I wasn't even looking at the blocks anymore...I would unfocus my eyes like doing one of those MagicEye pictures and just flip blocks almost subconsciously...The original is my absolute favorite puzzle game...Though, I seem to remember being disappointed a bit with the lack of content in PPL when I rented it at Blockbuster back in the day...
Ooooh I have Knife's Edge! I loved it as a kid. Was a pretty massive Star Fox fan but that game gets fairly easy after a while. I also had completely beat Rogue Squadron and its Episode 1 cousin but never got to the end of Knife's Edge.
I'd like to say your videos are peaceful and that I look forward to them but I'm pretty sure I'm site wide shadow banned and you'll never see this (my last 50 comments had zero interactions)
Pokemon puzzle league is one of my favorite n64 games ^_^. Just so you know you gotta beat atleast very hard to count it as complete, super hard is just overkill though since they just use the a.i of the last very hard computer but on all of them. But on very hard you will fight all the ai available. Take your time with it though, it's not a game that clicks right away, your in for a good time.
Going to hazard a guess that Nintendo didn't a gun accessory for their console by the N64 era. Columbine and whatnot. N64 was seen as a super family friendly console back then.
@Thabeast721 also I need advice as I see you are easily accessing the 54 never released to united states games I cannot get my hands on, E.G Hampsters/Trains I know I can buy them on Ebay, but how do I get them affordably in an all in one cart? like I have for the other 340 games

Second!
I'm looking forward to Buck Bumble for the rockin' soundtrack.
This game was a really cool find though, never heard of it but it seems like fun.
True, never imagined there were so many games for the N64.
This is why I’m here!
Yeah I've learned about a lot games from doing this challenge
I'm impressed you beat it without using or noticing the special weapons with infinite ammo you have. Laser, nuke, flak and homing missles.
It's a little more realistic to like a weekend rental where you dont know all the details right away
Yup! That confused me pretty good
oh shoot
Ya know, that may have made it a bit easier
Omg

it's like starfox but bad
😂😂😂
Thats exactly what i was thinking watching this
Maybe it should have been called
Starlix, the space ferret😅
Try to get some of that 'grandma got me the wrong game for christmas' money lol
Don’t do a barrel roll.
- Mom, can we have Star Fox?
- No, we have Star Fox at home.

I remember playing this as a kid but I never got past the final boss.
I played this game a ton in my teens. It was really fun with 4 players.
"On one condition: you sun tan with me in Miami" 😂😂
It was not just Miami it was NEW MIAMI.
As you do...

I’m looking forward to Aiyden Chronicles: The first Mage

I am truly impressed by your resilience. I gave up on the final boss. 😅 Thank you for completing this one for me!
This reminds me of the FMV rail shooters on the 16-bit systems where they drew explosions on ships after you took them down.
Oh man I LOVED Pokémon Puzzle League back in the day! The multiplayer was such a riot.

Good job making this game seem not incredibly boring! 🎉 a marvel of modern science you are
Thanks for this series - there are so many wacky games that I've never seen or heard of before.
Oh man this takes me back, I grew up loving this game!
I miss light gun games. I had the cobra 2 light gun. the same one as judge dread. (sylverstor)
ive been patiently waiting for this! Love this series. Always look forward to the next game
LOL I just beat puzzle league again the other week...great game!
I completely forgot about this game. What a nostalgia bomb!
I fear for the worlds youth if that scrolling text is “too fast”
i thought so too but i think he meant when read aloud because you can read in your head much faster than out loud

Pokemon Puzzle League is just a reskinned Tetris Attack - and I played the absolute shit out of that game.
Dang he really does mean "all of them"
12:05 literally the Aparoid Queen from Starfox Assault
this game is really fun playing with others. But I could never pass the ice stage. Very hard game.
When I played this dying would take me back to stage 1, and I still somehow beat the game. Took me ages to figure out the secondary weapons too.
I like it so much watching this on a Friday evening. Everytime I see your N64 vids pop up I know the weekend is getting close.
We have Starfox at home
Starfox at home:
Dude! A Nirvana the Band the Show joke! Thabeast has gone to classic status for me!
Me and the other 11 buyers of this game really enjoyed this video!
The n64 was my favorite system. While it had some of the most amazing games it sure had some horrible bloatware, as this series proves.

The continues Maschine gun firing almost sounds like the drum roll, adding to the soundtrack
to me, that game looks pretty cool. Pokemon puzzle league is just a Tetris Attack clone. I love Tetris Attack though
aww dude your gonna love pokemon puzzle league, they ripped the mechanics right from tetris attack which is the best puzzle game ever made.

Yooooo Puzzle League! Needs to be on S-Hard, one of the most brutally hard difficulties in any game ever, or it isn't complete
