Ive loved The Black Page since birth. Ive never seen this before. Im about to watch this over 100times in a row right now. Thank You for This. Im speechless. Bravo to the whole ensemble. Thats what Frank heard in his head when he wrote it. Breathtaking
Life long Zappa fan here. The black page took me a long time to fall in love with. But when I see bands like this pour so much love into their efforts because somebody loves Frank enough to make this happen, it makes it much easier for me to be in love with this piece. Thank you.
Nice job, guys. It sounds excellent. I think there's more support for great art in Europe and parts of Asia than in the US. They take care of people that are involved in 'niche' ventures. It's unfortunate, but most of America is infatuated with 'disposable entertainment'.
I don't think it was supposed to be catchy, but the funny thing is that it actually is. It's an acquired taste, I'll tell you that. I know every line in this song in my head and I find myself humming to it every now and then. Great song.
@@rollagiovanni Obviously I was kinda kidding ;) But by no means I dislike this song; I find it a fascinating piece of music and, just like you, I have started to almost memorize the song after repeated listening. Great song indeed.
You can listen to it live in Amsterdam: www.muziekgebouw.nl/agenda/Concerten/5251/Ensemble_Musikfabrik/Zappa_s_Tapes/?wo=1 There's no complete recording published...
+John Baylies There's going to be a performance at Musikfest Berlin in September: www.berlinerfestspiele.de/de/aktuell/festivals/musikfest_berlin/mfb16_programm/mfb16_programm_gesamt/mfb16_veranstaltungsdetail_160365.php Come along!

Amazing performance! Greetings to all Zappa fans from sunny Greece

What an incredible arrangement.
"This is a hard one to play"
the cowbell, as a symbol of unbridled passion, ladies and gentlemen
fantastic arrangement
This is absolutely incredible!
Love this - Great choice of timbres.
Just amazing
Amazing!❤
Wow.
A excellent read. Fluffed it a little at the end, but still a strong, dynamic performance.
Amazing! Fz lives on...
Damn that is amazing!
Excelente trabajo!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a catchy song. They look like they're having the time of their lives.

Bravo et merci !
GREAT RENDITION of GREAT MUSIC I grew up with - sehr sehr fucking GOOD ❤️🥁👍🏻
Bar 15 sounded spot on to me. Phew!
Across the back row I can see instruments built by Harry Partch.. :-)
WAHOU thx for this amazing work
The most intelligent thing I am able to say about this is that I like it.
phantastisch! 👏!! 🎶🌊
Enorme!!!!!!!
Frank you 🎃

Bravo!
Awesome!
Wild!!
If only they had a conductor; the two fast parts at the end weren't very "unisono". Nonetheless pretty much the best cover of The Black Page.
Yes, surprisingly good, they obviously rehearsed 'The Black Page' a lot...at the expense of 'Peaches' heh
Unisono lacks cos of japanese sticker. She doesnt play in right tempo some parts. Useally a bit of ahead.
johnbazy arschloken! Criticizing something they themselves will never play so beautifully in their lifetimes !! Yeeshhh....
Check out the version from "Zappa's Universe" with Mike Kenealy.
@@rhythmfield I think it's fair to criticize if you do so respectfully. On top of their criticism, johnbazy also noted that this is the best cover.
Schöne Version!
...subscribed! you people are amazing. would love to experience the Ensemble live.
Thank you!
great performance
BRAVO

Only one comment...FANTASTIC!

Great Googly Moogly!

3:54 that look of a butchered tuplet
I’d have a massive migraine after following the sheet music.
ruclips.net/video/POY0l6yfpZ4/видео.html
Clickbait Forget BP#2 and a tiny bit of Black Page. But I still loved it.
Franktastic!!
nice - tight

we were playing some Partch in that same program...

I spy a Mazda Marimba and Cone Gong!
Where the hell is the whole thing????

Where can I watch the full performance? Thank you!
Thanks for your interest! A full performance is not available (yet).
Imagine being in the room when Frank was writing this……there was some smoking going on…..lots of cigarettes!
did anybody dance?
Buena
How can I hear the rest of the performance?

Great red legs!
No doubt, quite a distraction.
Frank loved him some marimbas, didn't he?
No wonder studio musicians dreaded the nest session.
Created on synclavier...
No synclavier here. It was created as a drum solo.
@@tixximmi1 Frank did almost all of his compositions on his synclavier ...
Including this one I think...
He didn’t have the synclavier until the 80s.
Only the musicians get what they just did, it's sad really, Zappa was Zappa. so was Mozart.
Is this audio playing in reverse?
- You can't hear melodies without melodic instruments!

Prefer 'Live in New York' Somehow fuller sound
This is no headbang material.
This performance is great but i can't quite get around the out of tune violins
So cool, it's like if the composer hated the musicians.
Nice performance ! Mix, not so good.
They played it too fast
