    Nice quick review. Incidentally, while you noted the weights on the Airstream, was confused when didn't match up with the 23 or 25 Flying Cloud. Enlarged to full screen and froze video. In the bottom corner of that label, you had a 2024 25FB TradeWind, which Airstream introduced this year. That is a sweet trailer. Length is 26 ft 2in. Stated tongue weight is 725lbs (usually low - loaded probably in the 850-950 range) which subtracts directly from the 1423lb payload of the Ram...which is really the issue with half ton towing. You run out of payload way before you run out of towing capacity.

Give us a better performing transmission, maybe more reliable turbo technology with a longer-termed warranties especially if the manufacturer is going to jack up the price like they have still try to justify supply shortages as an issue, therefore I cannot see endorsing this new truck at this price point., IMO

      @thebigguy 3 месяца назад

      The thing that you have to remember is that the reason your old truck was able to do that is because emissions standards were much lower back then. All these new turbo engines got developed not because the manufacturers were striving for better MPG's, but because it was the only way to meet tougher emissions standards. I would really be interested to see what kind of MPG's they could get if they used modern tech without having to worry about emissions...

    As Tim said the smaller displacement turbo charged engines are here to stay.
    It has absolutely nothing to do with what you want. It is about what the government wants for you. The government is penalizing the auto industry via fines in the millions of dollars for not meeting fleet emissions standards. This means that most large displacement engines are toast.
    Until that changes this is just the beginning of the undesirable changes coming our way.

      Millions? Stellantis has paid Tesla over 2.5 billion since 2017 buying their unused CAFE emission’s credits just to keep producing hemi’s. That doesn’t even touch the fines they’ve been paying on top of what they couldn’t cover with the BS government allocated credits. It’s also how Tesla has managed to stay profitable. They don’t hardly make any money selling cars. They satisfy the government’s ignorant definition of “carbon emissions”, and can do with their credits as they please. So they sell them to other auto makers. It’s a really weird system.

      I read that article and that guy was full of shit. We all made fun of his stupidity.

      @is6566 3 месяца назад

      Ok I stand corrected but I still have a hard time thinking of a single launch event video of any channel of any brand where a single negative comment is mentioned about any aspect of the vehicle in review.
      What I found was that you better read between the lines. Some channels might do a damn with faint praise comment. Or an understatement, like, “Maybe this new Tacoma doesn’t have a vastly improved rear seat legroom “. 😃 Nobody will say at the Tacoma launch event:”This rear seat leg room is terrible.” And that’s fine. You don’t sh$t on the carpet at a the host’s house if you are an invited guest in good company, either.

    • @Pickuptrucktalk
      @Pickuptrucktalk  3 месяца назад +1

      @@is6566 it's not that you can't say anything negative. I've left many launch events and didn't love the vehicle and I've said it on camera.
      Instead, it is more of information overload. You are bombarded with an hour plus of presentations and then boom you get to drive for less than 2 hours in most cases.
      Like with this event. Presentation didn't get over until 10 am, then we drove to lunch, ate and were back in the bus by 3 pm. You have to film interior, exterior, do a towing demo, off-road portion, RUclips shorts, photos, etc...
      Its a LOT. You don't have time to really critique things because you are focusing on everything that is new and different.
      I did say I didn't like the tow mirrors that much in this video. So I got one critique in. I also have another video that just went live discussing how the H/O engine is fun, but not something I'd pay for because of the premium fuel requirement.
      So I did offer some critiques. The big thing to remember is if every review is OMG this is AMAZING that's not really helpful to viewers OR the automakers. The automakers are far more interested in what I don't like versus what I do. They can fix what I don't IF I tell them what I don't like. You can't fix what you don't know is broken as the saying goes.

      @Pickuptrucktalk I live in Lancaster, CA. Anywhere I drive involves going over big hills. When I looked at a Wagoneer with this engine. Someone else finished a test drive and had the hood up. I just thought too much heat was coming off the engine and radiator. My Ecodiesel seemed cooler, even though it sometimes runs a little warm on I-70 in Utah. Our Cummins powered Ram 2500 is just fine.
      Some formulations of plasma sprayed material reject heat better than other materials. But way back in the 1970's, a guy I worked with had a Chevy Vega. He upgraded the radiator to a 3 row. His all aluminum engine worked fine for years. He only replaced the car because the interior plastic was rotting after 10 years of the California sun. When the Ram Ramcharger comes out. I will really have a hard choice about which pickup to trade my Ecodiesel in on. The Hurricane engine, Ramcharger, or the Chevy 3.0L diesel.
