Thanks, very good. I'm glad to know about the habitat of this plant - sand & gravel. There was an amazing mini-meadow of yellow flowers in a trading estate here in south-west England (cats ear, mouse-ear hawkweed, black meddick, ox-eye daisies etc). Then two days ago I saw there were also lots of bee orchids, which I've never seen around here (except 1 plant a few miles away). I immediately went to contact the landlord and arranged to show him his special meadow, and to ensure that it isn't mowed mid-season. He kindly came out with me yesterday to see, but unfortunately his groundsman had just mowed the grass a few hours earlier and there were no flowers any more, everything was gone ... :(
If anyone saw me handling this orchid near my home I would no doubt be taken away never to be seen again!!! This was such a clear explanation Thank You.
Very informative and beautifully said! Thank you 🌸
I'm going to grow these soon
