Had my ar a little while now, went through 1k rounds as of yesterday so decided to finally clean it (didnt clean it when i first got it) it took me an hour of searching and 5 videos of me tryong to figure out how the "bottom part" of the cam pin was supposed to go back in before i finally realozed the cam pin is broken lol
Funny. I did mine today out of the blue for the first time. I pretty much did this but oiled a bit more. They really are simple things. It took a few min to figure out how to remove the bolt. 😂. Thanks for the video confirming I didn’t mess things up.
Really nicely done. The resolution is good enough to actually see what you’re doing, and the camera work was good. One question: you mentioned that getting lubricant on the bolt face can lead to issues. What sort of issues are you referring to?
Don’t need to clean and lubricate anything if I ain’t got no ammo to shoot. My BCG has been squeaky clean for a year! I may or may not have cleaned it multiple times for no reason....but I do love my aero and ballistic advantage products!
I’ve been getting bored and started to take apart my ar and all of my other guns here soon I’m gonna get a gun cleaning kit bc I have a few guns I’ve owened for over 7 years that have NEVER been cleaned
Loved the video. Helped explain a little better to a buddy. What brand of long cotton swabs do you use? Any of the long ones I’ve tried so far snap with more than slight pressure. 😑
Exactly... good videos, but they usually leave out some critical point as I discovered on my 1st Aero build; fortunately I never trust just 1 source of info. Extremely pleased with my Aero coyote rifle build (upper and lower). Any USMC grad would freak out on this cleaning omission.
Good simple video. One comment, hint. It is not a race to the end of the video. Slow down your talking and make sure that you enunciate. Also, the background music adds nothing. Actually it is somewhat distracting.
I wonder what happened to the guy that got told to shut up. Feels like I am the one that got told to shut up cause my comment got deleted with the reupload. I love your stripped lowers by the way.
If the carbon on the back face of the BCG is allowed to retain carbon and continues to layer upon itself eventually there will be a problem. That carbon needs to be removed. IMO
While videos like this are greatly appreciated, I wish this fellow would have slowed down a bit. He doesn't enunciate well, almost mumbles at times. It would also be nice to actually see the parts he's trying to describe. I'm not familiar with this cleaning process, this video leaves much to be assumed by the author.
As a CANADIAN. I have fond memories of cleaning my AR 15 .
Whyd you give it up

Good basic clean. I tend to do a deep clean and use an ultrasonic cleaner. At any rate, good info on how to keep her running.
I'm glad these videos are here. I'm getting an M4E1 upper in real soon for a different lower, so these will be good to watch

Thanks, I have shot my AR twice and lubed the outside of the BCG but didn't know about taking it apart.

My Aero .308 BCG doesnt have a cotter pin but something that looks like a screw head on one end. How do I take this thing out?
No need to pull the extractor?
Extra gentle care with any brushing around the bolt rubber seal ring.

You should redo it, as lubrication runs down the weapon so does carbon you might not have seen as you put it in storage

Noice video! For any carbon fouling at the very back inside the carrier group a cleaning rod would suffice provided you don't have a specific tool.
Thank you for this video! It would be awesome and much appreciated it you could make more cleaning videos.
Aero BGS’s really rock!
Thorough and informative. Thank you, sir o7 ❤
Why use a scraper on the bolt though and not solvent first?
Well done Sir ... Aero Precision for Life😉👊
No lube on the gas rings?
Loved the video. Helped explain a little better to a buddy. What brand of long cotton swabs do you use? Any of the long ones I’ve tried so far snap with more than slight pressure. 😑
Love the Napoleon Dynamite soundtrack.
I used this exact type of gun lube on my ar in the exact same manner.
3 days later the bcg was sticky as hell in my rifle.
Nice video!
I wish my BCGs were that clean to start with! 😁
Good tutorial and demo 👍
Are these BCG safe to clean in a sonic cleaner.
Gracias, muchacho. Easy peasy.
You forgot a part on the bolt itself the valve & o-ring !
What about the gas seal on the bolt? Is oiling it bad?
Background music sounds like something off the Napoleon Dynamite soundtrack
Thanks great vid.
Thank you
Great video !!!!
Wait you're supposed to clean it?
What are those blue rags you’re using
They look like basic shop towels. They are like paper towels, but for mechanics. Better at absorbing oil, grease, and the like.
What about the extractor removal and cleaning? Definitely way below my standards.

What solvent are you using to clean it?
We go with breakthrough, however use any name brand it will treat you well.
I won’t be buying another bcg from Aero. I just had a bolt crack at under 2,500 rounds of factory ammo. Way too soon.
Tell us more about that sexy build on the wall! Please let this be June's builder set.
How about getting some .308 bcg's in stock. I've been waiting months...
They come back in stock often, they just get snatched up quick.
Premium Outfitters USA has 6 in stock right now

Grade D cleaning 👎
You are using too much lube.
You're being sarcastic right? You've got to be.... Otherwise.... Well, I'll just keep those words to myself....
