As a proud owner of a clean 06 350Z Revup, this shit makes me cringe. I cannot blame the trash talk. These cars bottomed in price pre-Covid and every ricer fanboy started buying them and ruining them. They have become the new Honda Civic. It makes me sad. The only saving grace is that clean examples will go up in value as the drift kids continue to wreck them.
me too. It's so maddening
Drift kid and I love my z more than anything and could never sell. I strive to make it clean, wreck it, make it clean again
@@houcitydriftllc7168 The amount of wrecked Zs on there sucks. Especially as I look for something for my kid.
@@benstepanek2808 no definitely! It’s a shame to see many go to waste or get destroyed. I wish I could save as many as can and keep them clean. I’ve been wanting to find a 2nd to just make a clean street car out of. The HR I have now is in rough shape but I’m going to take this car with me as far as I go in drifting and actually make it clean rather than just leave it as a missile. My first impact in the car hurt my soul and from that day on I vowed to fix any damage that happens lol
@houcitydriftllc7168 i get it. I am configuring mine for handling and windy roads. Straight racing is not my cup of tea, but a windy mountain road is. I figure If I can get approximately three hundred wheel horsepower with the handling already have, I'm good.
But I cut my teeth driving in insane roads at high speeds. I watched a lot of american drivers, Particularly in mustangs, Leave their cars wrapped around a pole or a tree.
1. Get 350Z
2. Get girl
3. Get girl pregnant
4. Sell 350Z to get family car

Used Z’s are cheap and sweet, Treehorn. But then, you think John Denver is country and the Eagles are rock. It’s very complicated, man.

Whatever that means lol
The Eagles are rock like Imagine Dragons is rock
90% off any 2 door vq35 platform on FB marketplace has either had the living shit beat out of it, or it's in pieces.
Well, that’s just like, your opinion, man.
“Having one leg is the only excuse for driving an automatic” not even true. Idk if you remember the show “fast car” on Netflix, but there was a dude with NO LEGS driving a manual. Literally no excuses. 😅
Edit: I think it’s actually “fastest car” i’m dumb
I had a relative who was killed, just sitting on a bench by someone driving (an automatic) who didn't have legs. Not all double amputees are created equal apparently. Sorry for being morbid but childhood memories were hitting me hard reading that.

They're rare but not impossible to find. Was lucky enough to find a 90k miles manual 2003 350z for 6k. Clean title and all original and was in near perfect condition. Old owner was a nice old guy who barely drove it and was selling it as the car got a check engine light and he didn't want to deal with the hassle. It was giving a misfire code so I bought it for 5k and replaced the sparkplugs and now its perfect
Good find
REALLY lucky find, enjoy that car and take good care of it.

I miss my 350z. It came a long way from when I bought it. I had to sell it because issues kept coming up and I needed a more reliable car. It was a pretty damn fun car.
How did you drive the car tho ?
"It came a long way..." which means he ruined it and made it unreliable with Bean mods.
Never understood the slander for the 5R05 (5 AT). It’s bulletproof, actually responsive, and is good at staying in the powerband. Most of them last longer than the damn engine.
Longevity is a good thing, but rocks predate and will outlast humanity.
But I don't want to drive rocks, I want to drive a 6MT
I got my z dirt cheap blown up, with the 5R05, and I freaking love driving it. In select shift it will not shift for me, I got to find out by accidentally banging limiter, need to weld the diff but it’ll slide pretty good. Just gotta push down to downshift and make the same funny sound, automatic is definitely enjoyable
ok

Bought a brand new 6 speed manual 350z in 2008. Drove it 100k miles with no problems. Absolute great sports car. Took great care of it. Sold it several years ago though.

I looked for over a year for a 350z and they are all about like these. I did buy one for $2700 that needed a lot of work. And now it's nice after a bunch of labor and a lot of money in car parts later lol
I won’t lie, I’d rather have a bone stock/unmodified auto cheaply than a clapped out or riced manual for the same price. Most likely, I won’t take my car to a track so an auto while isn’t great also isn’t the deal breaker. A clean auto car is a lot more appealing than a one that has bolt on wings, a torn up interior and a full rattle can job.
Took me a full year of looking at the daunting Facebook Marketplace. Finally found an 07 stock minus intake and exhaust grand touring edition with 42k miles. With the beautiful dark blue color. (manual too :))
I have next to zero experience with JDM cars.. But wouldn't a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market?) be right hand drive? And, oh yeah, made for Japan
with the exception of i think ONE honda accord wagon for maybe a year, yes. it was left hand but still for japanese domestic.
The 370 is almost just as bad now. All these idiots selling their salvage titled shitboxes thinking they're going to get 20k because of some mods.
I cried when an old lady totaled mine. I was the third owner and it was immaculate
Man, makes me sad to see the vast majority of them trashed. Loved them as a kid and always thought they were pretty cars stock
My 2006 RevUp 350z MT6 purchased new has 23k miles, with Plenum upgrade and a tune plus Wilwood brakes, sway bars and end links, bilstein shocks and brand new Conti ExtremeContact SP02's and she handles and runs beautiful!
As long as there are tons of parts and donors I only really care if:
• it's a manual transmission.
• it hasn't been wrecked, ever.
• the parts is still intact even if the vehicle runs poorly. i.e. blown head gasket, alternator failure, sensors failure, and failure of the catalytic converter.
• if they haven't 'modified' it with saws and drills, or, removed OEM mounting locations.
• lastly, if they haven't purposely fucked up the paint with a home depot repaint using some wood paint.
I can fix all of the problems and replace all of the parts at home but not if the above criteria aren't met.
Swapping the trans, is HARD. Hell, swapping transmissions auto-auto/man-man is a pain in the ass. Also, shit on autos all you want but, I smoke plenty of manuals and i dont tear my clutch up just managing traffic. To each their own.
That's right man. I brake-torqued to 2K on the 5AT with TCU tuned on Uprev, FBO, and ET'ed my buddy's manual 4x times in a row in 2017-18 (biggest gap was 1.3 sec, he couldn't launch properly the first two times). His clutch was replaced in '21 at 113K miles. From baseline to FBO, I shaved off 6 tenths on the quarter at about 500 ft ASL, about 18-20 celsius.
VQ owners in general fit this entire video's persona.

This loop goes by 1 police station, 2 schools, and the rest is residential. Good choices were not being made is what I'm saying. I haven't seen or heard it come by in a couple weeks now. I am lucky to be honest. I know that I got an automatic rather than manual, but I was lucky to have found a 350z with little over 100k miles completely well mantained and not driven by a teenager with intent of destroying it, I ended up getting my hands on it for just over 1,000 dollars after a drive south of my home about 45 minutes. The market for Gs/Zs really went off a cliff pre-covid. I bought a clean title auto 04 in 2016 for $2.5k before the prices really dipped. Now you can't find a nice Z that hasn't been molested and a G that hasn't been stolen and left at the latest takeover intersection.

What’s wrong with automatics?
@@ImAstroCodm New automatics are much better, but the 350z autos are all slushboxes. You have no control over power delivery, they're heavier, less responsive, less reliable, and have more power-loss (literally slower). There are no redeeming qualities.

Your videos are a source of motivation and encouragement. They remind me to keep pushing forward and chasing my dreams.
Buying from a dealership at this point is better, people on facebook marketplace are trying to charge dealership prices for poorly taken care of cars/miled out cars. Dealerships also give you free carfax reports so you can casually scroll and make sure the car hasn't had the odometer rolled back or anything
I think the hardest part about them is people still want them to be cheap. Their price went up a lot as did everything else, big deal. Also time has passed an 04 Z is 20 years old now, that means there is less of them to find. Also so many people want to treat them like show cars instead of push them to there limits.

It's not necessarily about finding a good one. It can also be about finding 2 to 4 BAD ones... that have all the parts between them that you need to build ONE good one yourself, ideally for less than one good one. 3 $2,500 shit examples will definitely result in a near mint, mismatched numbers, $10,000 example.
