@@ramkumarselvaraj7307 the old 1.2 tsi engine was 2 valves/ cylinder unit but the new 1.0 ltr unit is 4 valves/cylinder...more modern and breathes better as well

The new 2021 Polo looks like a smaller version of 2020 Golf R, but I can't understand why this Polo even though it's new, looks like it's from the 2013 which was inspired by the 2010 Golf R.
VW-Skoda engines can be termed as the best in terms of performance & acceleration in their respective segments. All of their cars perform stupendously & mated with the DSG gearbox, they are a hoot to drive.The Chasis, suspension setup, the solid build quality does add up to the desirability quotient & makes the driving experience very enjoyable. Though VW-Skoda charge quite a premium more over their competitors, that money really translates to a lot of happiness. The first car I'll buy will definitely be either a Skoda or a Volkswagen.
Kudos to hyundai for daring to put that turbocharged engine in a small car. What a beautiful little fast car. And polo is still the OG of hatchbacks when it comes to raw performance.
@@Nadheem721 this torque converter in current polo in india is better than dct in prev gen polo in India. The dct in polo 1.6 84kw engine and GTI were mapped very nicely to the engine characteristics and it was lunatic fast.

The reason why India didn't got the new Polo is because of the fact that it's larger than 4 meters and that would increase it's price, and nobody would buy a hatchback for the price of a sedan car in India. Polo is meant to appeal to Volkswagen's entry level customers, so to keep the price down, they have not brought the new generation. Thankfully, the upcoming generation of Polo will be made under sub 4 meters, keeping India in mind. Besides, who knows if the latest Polo is just as engaging to drive (or better/worse) as this generation Polo ? With time, thrill of driving is going away from cars. If we look it from that perspective, we're actually lucky that we still have a proper, driving machine instead of a watered down, electronic computer gadget.

It's obviously gearing. The hyundai should be geared tall as it caters to the more practical customer. But there's also the tires...they haven't mentioned what tires these cars used or the tire size.
Those who are saying that Figo TDCI will defeat the Polo 1L tsi are wrong the quarter mile of Figo is 16.9 secs whereas this polo has the quarter mile time of 16.3 secs so it will beat the Figo convincingly.

Even though both engine are of same technology VW has a upper hand in engine tuning, engineering and components used.One such example is the inter cooler used in TSI engines,they are liquid cooled and manifold integrated,these are seen in only premium cars..
Autocar pls add speed achieved at finish line... This drag race will add value if you can also include roll on speeds at different gears and different speeds and a braking test. Expected a bit lengthier video. This is probably my 6th or 7th time am requesting to add.
