I was watching the 22nd game with my mom and when he ended the first round with -$600, she thought that was it and just zoned out. Five minutes later, after he hit the second daily double and answered a few more clues correctly, she glanced up at the screen again and said “Wait, how does he have $27,200?” That was probably the funniest moment of us watching Matt.
@@PeterSoby it was a great comeback! I enjoy watching Matt! I can’t believe he lost! I can’t wait for the tournament of champions when he is coming back!
That is really wild when you think about it! Especially knowing that he accomplished all of this in just a few weeks I believe? So he must've had a new host every few days or at least a new host once a week??
Since all 3 players often know the correct answer for the majority of questions, timing the buzzer is the most important skill on Jeopardy. That Matt was able to do this with a half-dozen different hosts is amazing.
Thank you for saying so! I really appreciate it. I'm so happy that so many people have watched this and enjoyed it as much as I did making it and watching it myself!
I feel you, Kyle. Amy was really smart and terrific, but Matt was just so giddy and joyful and seemed to embrace every moment of the journey that it was really hard not to root for him and to really like him!
@@PeterSoby Don't get me wrong, Amy delivered successfully well in her 40-day run on Jeopardy. She's been killing it. But there's something about Matt that had me very interested. He's been awesome left and right. Going to his last game, I hate how he got beat up by those 2 contestants but it is what it is.
Matt is a fantastic player. Looking forward to seeing him in the tournament. At the time I’m writing this...the current Jeopardy champion Amy Schneider is fast approaching $500,000 after 11 wins....another iconic run!
There's a part of me that was hoping when Amy Schneider passed Matt at 38 victories in a row, that she would just keep going and going. It kind of stinks that she only won two more than Matt. But… Wow… The tournament of champions is going to be bonkers!
Took me a bit to get used to him and the “what’s” but I absolutely loved him! Also interesting to see all the different hosts, Mayim was definitely my absolute favorite of all of them, I’m really glad she got the shared job with Ken!
@@mr.timetraveler8784 - I didn't have the copyright to do this. But I labeled it as a fan video and gave Jeopardy all credit for it and didn't monetize it. So I think if you make one you would be OK!
I was just thinking today after watching Jeopardy champions pretty much come and go every day right now, what an incredible feat it is that Amy & Matt accomplished just recently!!!
Yes, it couldn't be easy to sustain the winning streak with so many different hosts, especially given the short amount of time/days that he did it in. And now, I can't believe Amy has tied him for second longest streak of all time. Looks like Matt might fall to third tomorrow. But, we will still love and appreciate his run just the same!
@@jackpow2004 because each host has a different cadence, different mannerisms of speaking, pronounces the ends of words differently (which in turn causes the buzzer judge to activate the signal lights at different times), etc.
25:15--25:27 I knew, right after I read that clue, I knew it was the duckbill platypus!! I knew that even before I saw Matt Amodio's response!!! How did I know? From Phineas and Ferb!!!! 😃 At the end of the episode "Where's Perry Part II", Ferb mentions George Shaw's first description of the platypus in 1799.
Wow! You have a great memory. Now that you mention it, I remember that episode of Phineas and Ferb. But I would never have remembered it quickly enough for a final Jeopardy answer!
@@PeterSoby Well, I do tend to remember some little details of a video. Also, there's this video on RUclips called "All Of Ferb's Lines", that has every line of Ferb, I think from every episode, but if not, most episodes. I saw that video more than once, and that's how I remember, as is the case a lot of times. I have to see a video more than once (at least 5 times, I'd say) to remember everything in it.
That's a great point! He totally did! Unbelievable. Especially when you are seeing this run of contestants right now that are winning with less than $10,000. And exchanging champions every other day.
Enjoyed watching all his episodes and was amazed at his broad knowledge, his final episode left me wandering if something happened that made him throw the game, The simple questions he missed or supposedly didn't know made ma wander, especially the final question where he answered Poland instead of Austria, don't tell me that Matt didn't know that Poland is nowhere near the Alps.
@@masterdoge987 - yes, especially after learning that he's 38 episodes were filmed in only nine days. That has to be physically and mentally completely exhausting!
Wow that’s insane on his first win… if he answered just one less question in the double jeopardy round, he probably doesn’t lead final jeopardy and we all forget about him
If Matt hadn't got final Jeopardy wrong on his guest host, he could break the 1M dollar mark on Day 21, which became the second-longest streak, with James Holzhauer, breaking 1M on Day 14 and a 38 day total of $1,901.401. He could break 2M on Day 42 if he hadn't lost to Jonathan Fisher but who knows how well Matt will do, facing Amy Schneider with 40 Day Champion with 1.3M and a defeat of 11-day champion Jonathan Fisher with 246.100 during the 2022 Tournament of Champions
Well, it definitely looks like an inevitability at this point. And I'm really happy for her. Amy is totally amazing. But I am just kind of bummed out because I really appreciated Matt and his run so much. But third place all time is not too shabby!
