I've been listening to this version of Begin the Beguine since I was 7 years old in 1957. I've always believed that this is quite possibly the greatest song ever written... astoundingly beautiful and elegant lyrics, and a flawless tune. And I've never heard a better vocal performance and musical arrangement than this one. People may guffaw at that statement, in view of the caricature of himself that Pat Boone became... but just park your cynicism and listen to this track with your eyes closed. It's really awesome.
Thank you so much for your very remarkable commentary.. am truly happy you've liked since your younger years and knowing you still do till now.. have a pleasant Sunday Rosedale71
Rosedale, I completely agree. I think in every way this is the greatest popular song ever and from possibly the best song writer as well. Ironically I've never been truly satisfied with any version apart from Pat Boone's, and that includes such monumental talents like Sinatra and Jo Stafford.
I agree with your opinion that this is the greatest song ever written. The lyrics just flow into each other to complete the story of the song. Pat Boone's interpretation is also absolutely perfect.
How can one not love this song; there are different versions to fit the personality of the performer but, always, always, a wonderful, beautiful song. Merci.
I'm so overjoyed!!!! I finally found the version of this song that my sister and I listened to as we were children.....never knew it was ol' Pat. Thank you soooo much!!!!
It is nice reading these laudatory comments. This is the most heartfelt version of this song, one of the greatest popular songs of all time by an artist who is simply the best of the best. Thanks for sharing.
THANKS TO YOU FELIX FOR UPLOADING SUCH A SPECIAL MUSIC TO REMEMBER THE DAYS WHEN THIS TYPE OF EXCELENT SONGS WERE SUNG BY REALLY GOOD SINGERS. GREETINGS FROM LIMA, PERU.
My dear friend, here's my response to your question. I love Elvis because he kind, loving, handsome generous and most of all very caring. And he's mine. And we belong to eachother forever.

My dear friend, here's my response to your question. I love Elvis because he kind, loving, handsome generous and most of all very caring. And he's mine. And we belong to eachother forever.
Not even great songsters like Sinatra, Bing, and Jo Stafford can match Mr Boones version. Top Drawer.

I just wish more people knew this.
@@steverector9670 I do!!!
It's great and simply powerfully sung - I like the backgrounds being quite muted and not bombastic.
Thank you so much for your wonderful acknowledgment on the video.
You're welcome. I was hunting for just the right version and this is it - vocally - and Artie Shaw for the instrumentals.
