Tbf, Roberu IRL has been in so many programs and have interacted with many personalities who have become vtubers or had friends who became vtubers. That and his personality, it is no wonder he has a lot of collabs.
I don't watch Matsuri that much, but what I love about her is she spitting facts and not afraid to brought up sensitive topics about Vtuber business, and collabs between male and female Vtubers.
Matsuri has always been a free spirit. I still remember when she was first collabing with Rikka and the other holostars and telling angry fans to touch some grass because she didn't want fans who told her not to see her friends.
I hope that hearing them talk about why Holostars x Hololive collabs happen might help to relieve some anxiety around why they don't happen often. It's great to hear that Cover gives them a lot of freedom!
Yeah them having a lot of freedom has been common knowledge for a while, but sadly there have been some really bizarre claims spread on the EN side regarding talent freedom, people suggesting they have to put up a fake personality, etc for years. It can be pretty disheartening when in this sort of job it's important that your viewers can trust you're being genuine in content and character - especially when you have cases like Watame who has had very in-depth talks about their painful history with music and what she wants to do here. People want to support those kinds of earnest dreams.
@@Helmir Is not that they don't have perms or freedom to collab with HoloSTARS, some of the talents on the EN side pretend the Tempus boys doesn't even exist. It doesn't bother me too much if they don't collab for other reasons, but is different to not collab than ignoring them. So, a big ups to Calli who was collabing with Tempus a lot and she is having a blast with them. And yes, i prefer someone being more themselves rather than being the mask they are wearing... "You sir, should unmask" "Indeed?" "Indeed, it's time. We have all laid aside disguise but you" "i wear no mask" "No mask? No mask!" King in Yellow, The Mask
@@Helmir Forgetting before Hololive became what it is right now it was marketed as "idol" group hence many overseas believe that this "idol" vtubers doesn't have much freedom to collab with guys especially knowing about japan idol culture through internet, anime, course i couldn't remember the rules of the hololive at that time for their talents but their was a fear of gachikoi fighting etc, Hololive really only change with the constant mishaps that happened but the biggest trigger was probably the West China incident and if im right idol stuff is a big thing in china and their are alot of Chinese that are really into it and Hololive didn't have choice but to slowly rebranded themselves, of course the coming of 3rd Gen & 4th especially Coco kinda scrub the image on hololive as a "idol" vtubers only, them having alot of freedom when it comes to collabing is pretty much recently 2021? can't remember. Anyways in my opinion the main reason why despite the talents already have big freedom to collab with whoever is still the fear of gachikois knowing what some derange people can do and the fact most hololive talents aka the girls if not most "in just my opinion here" are if not would probably get hard to collab with as most aren't really that gamers most are focus on their career as a singer or "idol" as some members want to be that their image, so having a subject/something to do for collab would probably be hard as hell especially between co-workers (hololive & holostars) who doesn't have same interest etc (mainly talking about JP members here). Only few girls are willing to collab with guys in JP side its mostly Matsuri,Towa,Fubuki most of the time which was pretty much already made it clear to their derange gachikois that they don't want them well except for Towa career which got saved by overseas EN hence why she got alot of EN fans after Coco before EN members came if i remember, not only that on surface the fans know that Towa is probably the only member in hololive who got the most connection, contact with many vtuber in different branch, we don't know behind the scenes though as some streamers in JP knew each other about before they joined in their respective branch.
@@Helmir no one says there are hidden rules forbidding them from collabing with males. Everyone is saying that they don't want to or avoid it themselves to stay clear from trouble or stress because of their own communities. Look at Kronii and Ame's case. Even Calli got pushback when she just started to be friends with Connor. Not to mention people like Gura who straight up ignores and pretends they dont exist. And for good reason, even if 5% of Gura's audience got toxic about her collabing with a male, that would be a very big number. There would be so many problems it's not worth it for her and it's not her fault. If EN had made it clear from the start that they have no problems with men like the ID branch, no one would care about it.
They're all so busy all the time and as Matsuri mentioned we now have > 60 members in Hololive. There are multiple members that barely know each other. It's hard enough to keep track of 1 company.
As a collab fan... Collabs in Hololive/Holostars: Let's Go! Collabs outside of Hololive/Holostars: Let's Go! Collab with opposite gender: Let's Go! Collabs with people I don't know or small channels: Let's Go! Collabs with non-Vtubers: Let's Go! Collabs with anyone: Let's Go! No Collabs today: Let's Go! I'm a HoloID fan too where anything goes so I'm happy.
That's fine but that point of view wasn't what both matsuri and aruran were talking about. Reine does not exactly fit that description but you throw her into the "anything goes" bag as well. It's not a branch thing, every single individual does what they feel is right for them.
I've noticed it's more-so the latter; Marine asked her fans about collabing with a guy and they were all against it. But she also said she had no plans on doing so after that.
How I see it is if a Hololive member want to collab with a Holostars member that great and should be supported. But if a Hololive members doesn’t want to collab with Holostars that fine too. As long the fans respect the choices on both side. Me personally I’m fine.
Yeah, if the company doesn't have the restriction, it's up to the talents themselves to do the lifting for collabs, and going with people you know is much easier. The closer they are, it makes sense. Also, the comments on collabs between the two branches... can be taken as playing off any possible experiences they've had so they lowkey dunk on the people who have parasocial issues, sending those kinds of tweets or emails. Now? They've established their fanbases, so they are okay with these collabs. Anyone on the outside is ignored, and newbies to the fandom get reminded to respect the streamer's decisions on such matters. I get why the question is asked, but yeah.
Love it when Matsuri collabed with the boys, sometimes she can be more serious and wilder xD I'm just glad that Hololive and Holostars collabs can exist, back then it was like a dream for us, fans of both
What Matsuri says about people bullying someone for collabing with a creator with a larger sub count, I sincerely wish more people could have said in the English speaking sphere to those wastes of oxygen who harassed Moona for doing stuff with Pekora.
Oh those shittards, literally shittards down to the ground. Thanks to Pekora, Moona is more open and not shy, same with Pekora. Each of them did made a huge character development and the most awaited collab when they finally first used a VC... that was wholesome
Clout chasing is real problem with content creation, Streaming included of which V-Tubing is a subset of. But people with braincell knew that clout chasing collab have shit chemistry. A good collab cares not for rank or subscribers.
The bullying would have been bad if the sub counts were in reverse and aimed at the pekolord, though luckily not. Indobros are built different. They fuck shit talking nobodies up.
tl;dr: Holostars used to be a separate agency from Hololive [Production]. So every streamer already found their place in their respective social group. Streamers from either group reach out to the other to collab because they're already friends, not for professional reasons.
Not really seperate. It wasn't really intended to be. Initially it was Yagoo's passion project. He has given more time time the boys then most other talents. Even appearing in a number of streams. Idk if it was his choice or not to not mesh the to groups at the start, but it was probably just the whole idol image thing and knowing what jp idol fans were like that was the concern, so there was a strong push spearheaded by FBK and Matsuri to have interagency collab, but yea, the damage had already been done. Kinda where I feel like Tempus 2 week ban on out of gen collabs instead of the full month was kinda making amends for mistakes made with the rest of stars.
@@idealicfoolyeah that was like 2019 i think? When that happens, I kinda forgot. But now just like what in the videos holo really gives a lot of freedom to their talent for who they are gonna collab with, but of course with a few considerations in mind like the background of the person or what they are gonna do with their collab. I mean they are still carrying their brand/agencies name in their back, moreover I'm a bit surprised that in 2023 people still don't know that. And thinking that all holo mem are afraid/hate male just because they're an idol.
@DegenB it also helps massively that Sora from time to time has reached out to the boys as well, if only just for bday streams, it is still supporting them
"I'm going to collaborate because I enjoy their presence, I'm going to collaborate because I respect them as an artist/content creator and I just want to learn more from them, right? And then otherwise I'm just going all in on solo content" - Vesper
matsuri really nails it. There's so many people in holopro and channels main attractions are not collabs but the talent running it. Besides you gotta schedule stuff which will reduce the numbers even further
i love hololive and holostars collabs, because i’m a fan of both branches. that being said, i’d never want people to beg or force them to collab if they don’t want to. i really dislike that some people are so divisive on the topic. someone wants to cross collab? cool, let them enjoy themselves. someone doesn’t want to cross collab? cool, let them enjoy themselves. and i totally agree with them about the friend circle thing. it’s a bit difficult to collab or even just reach out to someone if you’ve never talked to them before. let things flow naturally!
There's also a factor that not a lot of people talk about. One might notice that among HololiveEN and ID, a handful of members were fans of Holostars too, not just Hololive, before joining HololiveEN/ID. People like Bae, Kobo, Ollie, and Ame, for example. Since ID established a relationship with the Stars early on, there's more acceptance of the boys in the overseas sphere, which prompted female Holostars fans to be interested in joining the overseas branches like with Bae, Kobo, and Ollie being inspired by their oshis, Roberu, Izuru, and Miyabi respectively and increasing chances of collabs. I don't see that really happening with Japanese female Holostars fans, honestly. Considering Holostars' early history, I don't see a lot of JP female Stars fans itching to get into HololiveJP.
@@Rickedydoo she's a fan of Holopro in general, but she has a soft spot for Shien and Astel. She used to go on a fanart liking spree of other talents on Twitter, and Shien and Astel fanarts are the ones she liked most often out of all the boys.
It seems most people are not aware of one key point, which they themselves did not mention. The way Japanese people make friends, isn't as direct as us. You can't just approach someone from the street, or even in a casual setting and expect them to reciprocate positively, even if both parties are Japanese people. To even make these things happen, some kind of intermediary or middleman is best - necessary even, to have the involved parties introduced to each other and form a bond over whatever activity it is. That's why all those "Why don't you collab with others?" requests are useless where Japanese talents are involved. Those kind of words ignore, or are ignorant of their cultural norms and formalities necessary for successful friendships to happen. And if they can do so directly, all the more power to them. It's on their own terms, not (ours) as the viewers.
That's a very good point. And to add to that on the EN side we simply have a lot of people on the introverted side who may simply like solo work more. So they, too, won't just go up to a guy or gal for a collab. Let's be glad Calli, Kronii and Bae do.
Nice and straight talk from these two. Hope this helps some people chill out a bit about this topic. It's also in line with what Calli said before: it's a big company so they don't know everyone that well and there are always people they vibe better with than others, male or female. Glad cover gives them a lot of freedom, we should just let the talents do what they want to do. I feel that way, talents that want to collab for the first time will also feel free to do so and not worried what fans may think.
Honestly speaking, this is such a breath of fresh air like you cannot imagine. I'm glad that, if some people are avoiding collabs with people of the opposite gender, it's not because of idol culture, but for reasons of their own. And that they're willing to put toxic fans in their place. The fact the phantom of such a toxic mindset is becoming more and more a distant memory makes me happy beyond words.
I suppose something its always worth considering is that even within each company, not everyone knows everyone else on a personal basis. So unless they are in the same Gen/Grouping there often needs to be some kind of event or external circumstance that puts them in the same place together and for them to then hit it off.
Also as their brand gets bigger, social circles become comparatively smaller. While they're not at the same scale as Nijisanji's roster, there's still a lot of talents in the company all with their own schedules- barely having any contact outside of an event is completely normal because it gets increasingly harder to keep up with and get involved with EVERYONE. Tenure also plays a role because that's just how JP office society works, it's difficult for newer people to approach their seniors for these things completely out of the blue without an established social relation.
@@gtf234 I'm a Holofan in general and I try to keep up with every single mem but after 5th gen it has became literally impossible without burning out, and that's considering I have 24/7 free time :v
This is a very good clip, and I'm glad you decided to translate it. Some people just have a very narrow way of thinking when it comes to collabs. We should just enjoy what we have for now.
Actually, the 2nd question did happen recently, and how the situation being handle also the same as how Matsuri explain it.. XD Its happen to Ollie recently (IIRC).. Some haters attack her just because she's doing *Tourney* between Hololive and Holostars (The APEX one).. Ollie literally split both of them (Holo and Stars) and let the members who feel comfortable to do the *MIX Match* to join. What are they angry for? LOL But Ollie just ignored them like a chad and problem solved.... LOL
Yeah i was kinda sad she had to make those groups, cuz it was obviously to keep the frothing gachikois is certain fandoms from rioting..... I would have loved one big group with guys and girls.
Not to mention, IDbros now have elite troops called cebokerz. They literally protecc and most importantly counterattacc those who harass their idol(HoloID in general)
People on collab are so weird, like how can you expect everyone to get along just because they in the same company, irl I don't even talk to half of my classmates and I find it so weird for people to thought about collab or not collab
Because these people don't see Hololive/Cover as a company but just a happy family where everyone supposedly gets along. So when there are members who don't interact, in this case some of the girls with any men, these people then see it as a problem that the girls are being restricted somehow. Its just like you said though it's ridiculous to expect the members, who are simply co-workers at the end of the day, to collab with each other and do things together if they themselves don't want to. This fixation on collabs has just always been weird by parts of the fanbase
In summary, your favourite talents will collab with whoever they vibe with. End of discussion. I can't believe streamers autonomy is even a debate smh 🤦♂️
Thank you for TL-ing and clipping this! This is such an important information and everyone in the community needs to know this. As much as I want everyone to get along well with others, seeing the collab beggers really gets tiring fast. If we put it in our perspective, just how many people around us that we'd find comfortable enough to spend at least an hour just talking to each other? Maybe not so many; and I think this is what applies to vtubers collab as well. Not to mention a lot of them are shy/awkward people too. Let's just keep supporting them and collab with anyone they find comfortable with! ✨✨
I'm okay if they being just shy or introverted. That's just a variety of personality, a very humane reason. But some of them are clearly don't want it for the sake of not losing viewers (a.k.a. don't leave me or I couldn't get your money) and that's a problem. I despise that kind of thinking because this entire idol-purity thingy is basically a tool to spoon-feed mental health issues of people who never touched grass.
@@lucia_candela Yeah can't deny there are still those who abide by the idol purity bullshit, but honestly it's good they don't want to collab with Stars, don't need that kind of toxicity around my boys anyway. 😮💨
Ame and Vesper said it well on EN’s side: you live or die through your solo content. Although in my opinion, this is from Matsuri and Aruran which have a very behaved community due to them shaping it up to be that way and actively fighting toxicity. I just want to remind people that this is an answer from the both of them, not representative of the whole. Who knows, maybe other members get hate messages from collaborations (I’m suspecting EN more because the EN/international fans have more balls to do that). Maybe I’m too cautious or paranoid but seeing how rabid some fans are, there might be a minority doing that. Antis will be antis, they can be “fans” hating collabs and expressing it in the most vile way possible.
EN side have absolutely got some such messages. Not many, but some. (now, collabs outside of Holopro? Oh yeah, the Antis come out of the woodwork on that one... though it's not universal, some talents and collab partners apparently getting a pass (though apparently the Nijisanji EN management were being obstructionist about such things for a while?)
Exactly this a lot of people fail to realize some EN members might not want to collab with men because they dont want to deal with the stress and backlash of even 1% of their community going full doxxing and harassment. Even if 1% of the audience does that, for a case like Gura, it would a lot of people. The damage might not be worth it. But who knows, it's all assumptions, but I dont trust the English community much after their debacle with Kronii and Ame.
Well yeah it reminds me someone jp niki sent akasupa to Ollie and said they don't wanna see their oshi playing together with male streamers and just choose anyone among EN or ID girls only. Well thats kinda funny tho, Ollie didn't force any JP girls to take part in Kureiji Arcade Mixed Team.
Aruran straight up dove on that question like it was a live grenade, what a gentleman. Its interesting to hear them talk about it, because indie japanese talent discussing the same topic have a nearly totally opposite answer. Namely that any mixed gender collab results in at least some hatemail, and because of the backlash they can be reluctant to do streams with male talent. Bless the holostars though, those guys have never once complained, never once tried to push their way in or advocate for themselves or spoken a word of criticism about the female talent. I can't imagine what its like to see your own coworkers have to tell their fans "don't worry, I will never, ever, ever even *talk* to these guys much less stream with them"
the last part. THAT, is really my concern. but then miyabi and the gen 1 said "U get used to it" since they are being hated because simply existed back then.
Meanwhile on the EN side, Gramps and Babygirl Magni are fighting against the Subway raid boss, losing horribly too lmao Then we have Shinri's pecs vs Ollie, Ragus and Kobo, cat vs dog and Bavis Gettel vs himself.
I think it also difference in cultural things. I can see Japan is very reserved for that kinda things cause they usually try to be polite. Meanwhile in EN/ID culture, punching each other in the face is just a normal things lol So they can express themselves much free. You can see example with Moona where she's doing fine joking around with EN and ID, but she's afraid to hurt the JP side.
@@TheMattVis >I can see Japan is very reserved for that kinda things cause they usually try to be polite. Let's not mincemeat: idol culture. Kanata outright said that male female collab is not Idol-like. I respect that opinion. And I would also say Idol culture is shit.
@@victoriazero8869 No, I know Idol culture is really bad in Japan. This one I also agree 100%. But at the same time I do think some member just doesn't want to collab cause they afraid of the other side feelings, and doesn't know how to deal with it without crossing some lines and hurting the other party. This goes with Collabs between Hololive too.
Yet more proof for the people that are heavily invested in the "they don't collab because they are idols/company won't let them" theories that they are wrong
"They don't collab because they are idols" is still kinda true. Some hololive member probably avoid collabs with men for branding. It's probably going to be weird if the older hololive members who never collabed with men suddenly does, not to mention the drama it will probably cause. I do respect holo members who are open to who they collab like towa & matsuri and I do wish more members like them collab.
Apparently the first Stars generation had a longer collab ban than is usual for new gens (holopro usually limits a new gen to collaborations within that gen for a month or so to help establish the brand/audience etc.), I think the reason given (or made up, who knows?) was to establish Holostars as it's own thing or some such? Anyway, that fed into such theories... but it's been a Long time since that was the case.
This.. People who new watching vtuber or still don't know how it works should knows this matter at least, it's really a simple and important statement.. It's not just vtuber but in general, even in real life too. Please understand it.
I think to further elaborate on why you don't see more collabs, it also could stem from just how etiquette works in Japan versus overseas. For example, I also wondered about why more collabs don't happen but I've heard this explanation enough times now to understand that it can be seen as rude, especially on the JP side, to just randomly reach out to someone that you don't necessarily know. It can also be said that despite how the talents may appear on screen, many of them are in fact introverts who don't necessarily excel at starting new interactions. This is, of course, why the really big collabs are so important because they give different talents a chance to interact with each other which could possibly spark up things happening in the future.
there are a few holomems who do not collab with the guys cuz they have their own ideal idol perspective where they stick to their own girl groups like noel and kanata.
Vesper once said it very well, you live or die by your own content ! I think collabs work well if the people have good chemistry and sure it can give more exposure, but at the end of the day, it's your own content that make people stay around you. Personally I have no problem with whatever they do, as long as it's permissible, I'm fine with it. They want to collab with the opposite gender - good, as long as it's fun for everyone; they want to collab with people from "the rival company" - even better, we get great crossovers with this. I've skipped many collabs, because the theme did appeal to me and I've enjoyed others. I can only agree with what Matsuri says, they are not anyone's property but their own and whether you like it or not you will never dictate what they can and can't do, that's for them (and obviously the company policies) to decide and not you.
I don't get how more clear the talents can be that there isn't any kind of restriction put onto the talents by fans nor management. And yet some people in this coment section still don't get it or don't want to get it.
Some people only want to hear what they believe even when what they believe is proven to be a false narrative. It has been said so many times over the years by the members themselves that there is not and has never been any restrictions in terms of cross-gender collabs. Like some of these people are mad that some of the Holo girls have never done anything with the boys or acknowledged them, but that is a decision that those girls made and there is nothing wrong with that. Anyone who has held a job in a company before would recognize that you are not going to meet every co-worker who works with you, people are going to have different shifts/work different departments/etc so its normal for not everyone to acknowledge everyone else. The only situation where the argument has any merit here in terms of behind the scenes restriction is when Niji/Holo EN went over a year without any collabs despite several members expressing and announcing the collabs, and that was something that was most likely done from Nijisan's management side anyway.
That's actually really nice to hear that they have so much freedom. I would like to see more collabs between the guys and girls, but only because the past ones have been a lot of fun to watch
This is a god tier clip! I'm sick of seeing some people saying "why doesn't (insert hololive girl) ever mention/acknowledge/collab with (insert holostar member)?" I'm sending them straight to this clip because it explains everything perfectly.
Or you could send them to the clip of Noel explaining that she has fans who wouldn't approve of her collabing with a male. Everyone has different reasons for not wanting to.
If collabs between people from the same generation can be rare, then I don't get what's so uncanny or sad about collabs with a different branch being rare. Most talents in Holopro are just co-workers, regardless if it's Hololive-Holostars, Hololive-Hololive, Holostars-Holostars, they're not a family and not everyone is friends with each other.
I think it also depend on the talent themselves. If I remember correctly, Noel said she probably would never collab with Holostars just cause she's not good with collabing with male streamer in general. Everyone have their preference and their own way in how they entertaining their fans I think.
Yeah It like trying to talk to someone you have nothing in common or they just become awkward and both side and the stream feel off. With Noel streaming her stream doesn’t match the way stars stream. And that ok. It the talent choice and we must respect the choice. If A hologirls want to collab with stars good if not that ok.
Noel did also say before that that she was worried about the idol image thing which is a part of why she didn't want to collab. But yea, went on to say even still, she would feel to shy to collab with dudes coz of her all girl school exp
People need to remember that Hololive/Holostars are work environments first and foremost. They're not there to casually meet up with new people all the time, they have to get some work done. Sure, they might meet someone and realize their personalities mesh well together for a collab, but it's not about "collecting" as many collabs as possible. I'm sure many people would think a few of them would synergize well together despite never having interacted before, but it's better to let things happen naturally. It can be really difficult to properly banter with someone you don't even know that well. Which makes it so funny whenever an holomem's "gachikois" or whatever get upset about an upcoming collab with a man. Like dude... I hate to break it to you, but if that Collab is happening, that means they've already been talking to each other plenty off-stream. They're professionnals, they aren't doing it just on a whim.
the counterbalance of this is: if you collaborate with anyone who has a larger audience, you are likely to pick up a share of it. So sometimes, this must be weighed against how well it would "synergize" or whatever. There are audience members that enjoy uncomfortable conversations and disasters just as much, if not more. [Polka did one on purpose recently, stranded on a VR beach in a conversation with a member with whom she tested to have the worst compatibility, and "no lifeline." 🤣]
@@realQuestion To be fair, I'm not sure any logical reasoning even thought of by the smartest person on this planet would apply to Polka. Some of them just want to experiment with pure chaos and that's perfectly fine too!
Me personally I just wished there are more avenues for sof interaction like a game that both sides share a server. That way reaching out won't be such a munumental task
people feel their donations support the member and thus they get a say. If their donations disappeared in reaction to a certain move, this might even be true in a way...but it hasn't happened to a Holo member.
Personally, I was never concerned about jp understanding it's a different culture. It's en that had my focus cause I always felt bad for the tempus boys cause it's obvious their biggest haters are the most extreme hololive fans. Though the jp stars had it MUCH worse when they started, the hate for Tempus is still there
For real I wont forget just like that how many Holo fans started hating and saying awful stuff about Tempus before they debutted. Calli, Ame and Bae where the only members to recognize their existence BEFORE they debutted and share their debut twitts. No one else gave them a promo or a hand to grow. Magni said that he's the most grateful to Holo ID for helping him with all his doubts and problems as a newbie, when it should have been the EN branch that helped him out.
@@LeonardoTheMomo I'm pretty positive it's mostly for safety reasons at this point they don't interact with tempus. Not all of them can handle the negative backlash and the day gura ever even acknowledges tempus, it's not gonna be pretty given she's the most subbed of EN
Good points on top of what's already known (many JP and EN girls are shy and/or introverted thus slower to collab within branch let alone out of it for starters) Time is also a thing, Aki's weird stream times can make it difficult for her to collab. There's also a like attracts like as EN wound up rather similar. On the flip side some guys are shy while others are very mindful of what'd happen with the girls. As for the thing that comes up often with Aruran on this topic, putting aside potential fan difficulties, Flare's a rather shy sort. As much as solo content is key, collabs are seen as a sign of popularity with Aqua being largely an exception (though with Towa and/or suisei, she's seem to collab more than say Aki or Roboco). Mel's rapid rise is in part due to her go getter attitude with collabs.
I will always show my support for the talents under holopro no matter if each does collabs or not. I am just a fan and it would be a disservice to dictate what they should do or not do, even if i just watch or give money, its not my position and im just a customer to their business.
Although even then, at one point she got a bit insecure on inviting or popping into peeps that she isn't that close with. At least I think she expressed it once
let me tell you about neutral id fans, Indonesians like to gossip about married/dating fellow artists, maybe there are fans who are hurt but, over time they will support the artist in the future.
and from that habit, if there are artists or vtubers close to men, maybe the fans will pair them up, or make them a couple so that they become material for jokes or interesting spectacles. for Indonesian viewers
Forcing them to collab with opposite gender is as bad as gatekeeping the talents from collabing with opposite gender. Just let them do what they want. The company they're working for already give them the freedom to do what they want. Why we as fans who love them dictate what they can and can't do? Some of them may just be too busy to be doing collab, very shy and introverted people, or just uncomfortable interacting with opposite gender. It's normal. Remember, we are their fans because we love watching them. If you love them, you will support them for whatever their choices are.
aside from collabs with aruran and holo ID girls, The collab between Bae rat and Roberu was interesting too since Roberu is kind to girls usually but acts as a normal equalist to KaguraMare thus Roberu NightMea became Bae's favorite series of collabs. Overall, it is already given than any VTuber is free to collab with their own risk, responsibility and free will.
One thing I'd like to see in the future is a huge Holopro event! Hololive has the annual sports festivals which are a great opportunity for members that infrequently or never interacted before to get to know each other and expand their social circles a bit. It would be cool to see something like that but on a much grander scale!
JP Bros when Live and Stars collabs: **Angry Fans Noises** EN Bros when Live and Stars Collabs: **Angry Fans Noises** ID Bros when Live and Stars Collabs: "that was a fun streams, when you guys collabing each other again?"
Yeah and moreover why risking getting you and the other person cancelled if you are happy and comfortable with people you are already friends with. If I were them I would try to collab sometimes with the opposite gender because it being taboo is something I stand against, moreover parasocial gachikois are extreme and dangerous so I would like to have that in control but that's it. I won't go out of my way to generate problems to someone, I would not want to be any girl's first man she collabs with unless I was super close with her and her level of gachikois was low.
You'd be surprised, while they are a minority some "fans" are very vocal about not wanting the girls to collab with the Stars or just hate them in general
Huh. It's nice that there aren't any separations. But still the numbers don't add up. Holostar members average around 200k subs, even those that have been around for a few years. Meanwhile, Hololive Justice have already broken that mark within their very first two days from debute. Is the gap truly that far apart?
Well im happy that theres not problem or prohibition but maybe if they talk.more about that people wouldn't start speculating about it for example I find it cool that holoEN talks or collabs with tempus but it's so strange that the other half Not only do not interact but technically It seems as if they did not exist, not a name, not a message, not a birthday wish. There shouldn't be any problems, but it gives people space to be suspicious or speculate
While I'm sure what they're saying is true to an extent, I think we're all aware that certain Vtubers will just flat out avoid collabs with the opposite sex because they have a much more gachi-focused audience. There's very little financial upside to them doing it and a lot of risk.
i think in asian/jp culture people are less direct aswell i assume, thats why holostars/hololive en collab like its nothing, thats why kiara/ina have collabed with pikamee/vshojo/nijinisan ollie has collabed with vshojo froot, voms pikamee might be more direct and has been in hololive suiseis mass vtuber collab aswell
Talents would leave if it became the policy, lol. But at this point seems like it never will happen given English branch of Hololive and Holostars are part of the same management.
sasuga Matsuri, i'm not surprised she's the one saying stuff without any filters. in any case, who do you think you are to tell them if it's ok to or not to collab with someone just bc numbers, or bc it's the opposite gender, etc.
I kinda wanna let off some steam right now, so I'll just say: if the boys and the girls are afraid of collabing with each other because of the fans, then it's obviously the fans fault. There's no point in saying cover separated them, telling others that it's because of the idol culture in Japan or anything like that. The fault will always be with the fans for making these things happen, so if they want things to change, stop acting like the vtubers, their companies or their culture needs to change. Just treat it as you would in real life: like it's nothing special. Don't force it, don't try to make them feel guilty about it. If a collab happens, just treat it as you would any other collab. That's all.
Totally. Kronii basically stopped collabing with the bois on her channel specifically when the Kronies threw a fit cuz she got along with Regis so well. Glad she still does group collab though.
@@Mrfluffy-c2u I'm pretty sure Regis cracked a joke and Kronii laughed in a way she hadn't before and then people were like *omg she likes him*. But maybe I'm wrong. No matter, still hope she collabs with them again.
I've been here long enough to notice some things, and I'm serious when I say that there is a sense of frustration building up in the Holostars fans, because most of them are fans of both Hololive and Stars, but that frustration can be calmed down easily by any type of interaction between the branches, even something so small like Mel appearing in Rio's chat during karaoke, a simple thing that eliminates the possibility that there is some beef between the two branches. But over time that frustration start building up again. It's unfortunate that the way to completely distroy this frustration is easy, if just the girls interacted more with the boys and not necessarily collabs, even in chat or on twitter, but they don't, because they don't have to, and no one has the right to say otherwise, but it's just something I hope to see someday.
True. But i guess it's kind of a coin toss for the girls: interact freely and either get praise, or get your gachikois riled up and drama started. So i understand it's kind of a 'barrier' to do even those small things, so props to the gals that do.
Majority of comments in this section are of the same opinion in that they support whatever the talent does. THat's great and the standard. I just take issue with the very loud minority of those that don't/refuse to get it and then start being loud like they would when these questions come up and start beating on the talents with their rhetoric. And it affects directly with the talents and its on the talents to handle them and not some buffer zone that keeps those loud minorities away from the talents *at the time they start to screech,* so that the talents don't feel influenced by those people. I'd love to see collabs and the choice to collab between live and stars from all parties regardless of who it is, but I detest the thought that it is or could be, in some shape or form, influenced by this loud minority, either because the talent in question is too anxious or too caring of ALL people's voices to filter out those that do not need attention given to them. That feeling of helplessness because that's essentially out of *my* hands is one I don't like since I would see it regardless, and there's not a way to prevent it or filter it actively as it happens whicg is when it's the most important since those comments are usually the first to get seen by talents. eh....ranting
That's why i feel more moderation and less 'free speech' is sometimes needed....In a real theater a rude screaming 'fan' would also simply be removed from the venue but digitally that is done far less....
@@primecoconut4204 It's a common misconception that Roberu is an extrovert. He is an introvert. Being introverted and having social anxiety are two different things. Roberu values his "me time" very highly. It's why he's very private. Never posts a picture on his Twitter, and barely uses Twitter outside of work-related purposes. Doesn't even interact with fans outside of streaming environment or official events. He's an introvert that loves socializing, and he sets his lines and boundaries loud and clear. Emphasis on loud, lol. It's why people are freaking out over Roberu Nightmea in the first place. She's one of the very few streamers he's really close to.
It should be basic logic tho.. 1. The basic is, those ppl, especially JP-EN, especially again JP, are not into social interaction thing. They prefer to do things personally. 2. It is opposite gender. When female joking about boba, the male obviously gonna be dead. And vice versa.. when the male talk about PP, the female cant follow. And that just an example. Obviously they not gonna talk about boba pp that often 😅. Those EN-JP, they alone already so rare to collab with some talent from their own branch. For example, Aqua and Watame. Never collab before. Or Ame and Bae, maybe they did some collab stream, but it's rare, right? But, COINCIDENTALLY, this is from the same group. Hololive production. That probably why ppl wonder why and want them to collab so bad. And probably some fan out there shipping X with Y already. Ewh. And ID branch is the "friendliest" one. Can collab to everyone. Even cross language and stuff. Not just gender. But, it is not that big deal tho. Everyone have their own content. Some talent prefer to do it alone, some love to collab with many vtubers. Like Ollie there for example.
Srs, sometimes the people who "support" holostars are never actual watchers and think of them as accessories to the girls or Collab content only. They're never considered a good proper streamer by themselves
About the 1st question, this is why the Cinema cover is such a surprise to me. Not a collab but there is nothing before that cover. 2nd is definitely subjective. Its just that both of their community is ok with collab. 3rd for me its ok if they don't collab but acting like they don't exist leave such a bad taste.
for the second question when they denied the effect of a much smaller talent collabing with much bigger talent kinda untrue, the example is Moona once said she will reduce her interaction with Pekora to shut "you're leech" foul-mouthed fans
the IF is HYPOTHETICALLY just like she said tho? why don't you watch it again instead? unless you don't know the context "hypothetically" on her words there
@@cemanz maybe I'm extrapolating but her giggle at that " hypothetically" moment ( @3:05 ) tells me that she has had (and probably still has from time to time) comments like that.
I think those questions were pretty tactless. Like are they expecting them to gossip about their co-workers? Also why would you ask a chicken if it'd like to be turned into KFC? Obviously it'd say no.
It's from a stream where they specifically stated NG questions would be accepted. Thus, the very blunt and controversial questions these past few vids.
i personally dont care. if they colab more, cool more colab content. if they dont, cool. they prolly know their fanbase the best and could want to avoid possible drama. heck it could also be a fear of maybe getting to close to certain ppl and some fans creating drama due to it.

When I first watch Matsuri I was like "This girl literally peed on stream, is there anything she afraid of?"

Thank you for your clips as always. Matsuri is such a character and I feel like Arurandeisu always has interesting things to say.
I really like that they didn't shy away from these questions and gave honest and direct answers.
Love it when Matsuri collabed with the boys, sometimes she can be more serious and wilder xD
I'm just glad that Hololive and Holostars collabs can exist, back then it was like a dream for us, fans of both
What Matsuri says about people bullying someone for collabing with a creator with a larger sub count, I sincerely wish more people could have said in the English speaking sphere to those wastes of oxygen who harassed Moona for doing stuff with Pekora.
Ignorance is actually the best thing they can do. It's the most OP tool to handle that kind of comments.
A good collab cares not for rank or subscribers.

tl;dr: Holostars used to be a separate agency from Hololive [Production].
Also perfect response from both of them.
i love hololive and holostars collabs, because i’m a fan of both branches. that being said, i’d never want people to beg or force them to collab if they don’t want to. i really dislike that some people are so divisive on the topic. someone wants to cross collab? cool, let them enjoy themselves. someone doesn’t want to cross collab? cool, let them enjoy themselves. and i totally agree with them about the friend circle thing. it’s a bit difficult to collab or even just reach out to someone if you’ve never talked to them before. let things flow naturally!
It's nice getting a straight to the point question like this answered very bluntly. Great clip.

I'm glad you're always out here clipping the guys and gals.
This is something that has been going on for a certain time, so is good to hear their side to just chill the vibes

In a microscopic modicum of credit to Nijisanji, it at least sorta feels like their male and female Vtubers are part of the same community over there.
Exactly. I don't talk to everyone in my company. Does that mean I have to? Or I hate them? No
Ame and Vesper said it well on EN’s side: you live or die through your solo content.
Well thats kinda funny tho, Ollie didn't force any JP girls to take part in Kureiji Arcade Mixed Team.
welp, JP niki unicorn don't have a real life girlfriend after all. 🙃
THAT, is really my concern.
but then miyabi and the gen 1 said "U get used to it"
since they are being hated because simply existed back then.
Meanwhile on the EN side, Gramps and Babygirl Magni are fighting against the Subway raid boss, losing horribly too lmao
Then we have Shinri's pecs vs Ollie, Ragus and Kobo, cat vs dog and Bavis Gettel vs himself.
I think it also difference in cultural things.
I can see Japan is very reserved for that kinda things cause they usually try to be polite.
Meanwhile in EN/ID culture, punching each other in the face is just a normal things lol
So they can express themselves much free.
You can see example with Moona where she's doing fine joking around with EN and ID, but she's afraid to hurt the JP side.
I love the monopoly and mario party collab they did, it was pure chaos
@@victoriazero8869 idol culture is toxic as hell
People exaggerate a lot using this argument, the most idol-like Hololive members (AZKi, Sora, Suisei) and their fanbases don't care about it.
Matsuri slaying them with facts and logic and big girl boss energy lol
there are a few holomems who do not collab with the guys cuz they have their own ideal idol perspective where they stick to their own girl groups like noel and kanata.
Matsuri has giga chad energy and I love it.
to the point and very mature response from both of them, love it.
Matsuri spiitin FACTS
This is a god tier clip! I'm sick of seeing some people saying "why doesn't (insert hololive girl) ever mention/acknowledge/collab with (insert holostar member)?" I'm sending them straight to this clip because it explains everything perfectly.
Send this too to the parasocial group who get mad over Hologirls collabing with men. The 2nd part of this clip is for those people.
Hololive fans look chilling.
Or you could send them to the clip of Noel explaining that she has fans who wouldn't approve of her collabing with a male. Everyone has different reasons for not wanting to.
I'm hearing the opposite is more often. Fanatics going apeshit at the mention of collab and spooking their own Oshi from even trying.
Yeah Noel doesn't even Collab that much outside of Shiraken anyway
The bigger problem is always fan pressure. Whether for or anti collab.
So it's just time constraints. That's a bummer and a relief at the same time.
I don't really care who they collab with I just want to watch them having fun streaming

This is why i love matsuri❤
Even if they collab each week, hololive would need at least 70 weeks, it takes almost 1 year and 4 months...😅
Ahh that felt refreshing❤
Thank you for this clip
I think Noel and Astel both said the same thing. It’s up to the talents if they want to collab with each other or not.
Everyone needs to hear this
Whatever the reason is, whether we agree or not, it is all up to them. We have no power. Yet some people act as if these talents work for them.
people feel their donations support the member and thus they get a say. If their donations disappeared in reaction to a certain move, this might even be true in a way...but it hasn't happened to a Holo member.
Those types of people are annoying af, they are too parasocial and should get help
Good points on top of what's already known (many JP and EN girls are shy and/or introverted thus slower to collab within branch let alone out of it for starters)
Time is also a thing, Aki's weird stream times can make it difficult for her to collab.
Mel's rapid rise is in part due to her go getter attitude with collabs.
great clip, leave it to aruran and matsuri to explain things plainly
3:40 As long i know there is no problem in the internal of hololive production, i can rest assurred.
I will always show my support for the talents under holopro no matter if each does collabs or not. I am just a fan and it would be a disservice to dictate what they should do or not do, even if i just watch or give money, its not my position and im just a customer to their business.
Meanwhile a certain ID rain shaman
"Ragus, Gabus, Brian, Valorant Now !!!"
Although even then, at one point she got a bit insecure on inviting or popping into peeps that she isn't that close with. At least I think she expressed it once
Kobo is only that with ID and some EN
Send her to JP and she behave like a goody two shoes
let me tell you about neutral id fans, Indonesians like to gossip about married/dating fellow artists, maybe there are fans who are hurt but, over time they will support the artist in the future.
and from that habit, if there are artists or vtubers close to men, maybe the fans will pair them up, or make them a couple so that they become material for jokes or interesting spectacles. for Indonesian viewers
Matsuri is a God ✅️
Any time you see someone making claims, just post a link to this clip.
Thank you.
One thing I'd like to see in the future is a huge Holopro event! Hololive has the annual sports festivals which are a great opportunity for members that infrequently or never interacted before to get to know each other and expand their social circles a bit.
It would be cool to see something like that but on a much grander scale!
Their New Year Countdown thing may very well be the unity event we all crave for. Yes, the one introduced for the 2023 countdown.
doesn't the 4th Fes from this past weekend count...? Even overseas members were there mingling with everyone.

I won't go out of my way to generate problems to someone, I would not want to be any girl's first man she collabs with unless I was super close with her and her level of gachikois was low.

if someone actually do that crazy stuff, I dunno what kind of people they are.
Well im happy that theres not problem or prohibition but maybe if they talk.more about that people wouldn't start speculating about it
for example I find it cool that holoEN talks or collabs with tempus but it's so strange that the other half Not only do not interact but technically It seems as if they did not exist, not a name, not a message, not a birthday wish. There shouldn't be any problems, but it gives people space to be suspicious or speculate
I don't really watch matsuri or hololive in general but now i get why she's called a god.
i'm okay with collabs with guys. i watch some of the boys myself sometimes. what personally annoys me is when shipping starts.
While I'm sure what they're saying is true to an extent, I think we're all aware that certain Vtubers will just flat out avoid collabs with the opposite sex because they have a much more gachi-focused audience. There's very little financial upside to them doing it and a lot of risk.
Or, you know, they avoid collabs because they simply DON'T WANT to collab
@@Nachtflut Why? Because Holostars is men?
i think in asian/jp culture people are less direct aswell i assume, thats why holostars/hololive en collab like its nothing, thats why kiara/ina have collabed with pikamee/vshojo/nijinisan
ollie has collabed with vshojo froot, voms pikamee might be more direct and has been in hololive suiseis mass vtuber collab aswell
Matsuri and Arusan collab is so tame compared to Astel collab. Sasuga grandpa.

And that's why she is GOD

So Roberu is rare case huh
nah, Roberu is truly that confident in his social skills and quite extroverted
@RunBaa Smart man. Having clearly-defined boundaries is a crucial skill to have for any person, intro- or extrovert.
Roberu was well-connected and liked behind the scenes, knowing some key figures from before either of them were vtubers [example: Polka]
I just find funny that the people that want the collabs dont even watch holostars at all
Srs, sometimes the people who "support" holostars are never actual watchers and think of them as accessories to the girls or Collab content only.
Only holo id many colap wih holostar
This the first time that he brought up Nijisanji
for the second question when they denied the effect of a much smaller talent collabing with much bigger talent kinda untrue, the example is Moona once said she will reduce her interaction with Pekora to shut "you're leech" foul-mouthed fans
