When I was about 12 or 13 my family was staying at a hotel (with cable!) and "That Girl" came on. I didn't know what it was. My father exclaimed, "That's 'That Girl!'" I said, "'That Girl?' What's that?" And he said, "It was a good show, GOOD _CLEAN_ SHOW." Very important to him that it be a _clean_ show. This would have been about 1983 (?)

The writers on this show weren't first rate overall. But there were some memorable episodes. Still we loved Marlo and Ted throughout

Since he was a Maytag repairman and we all know Maytags never broke down back then, it gave him plenty of time to play other roles in shows like That Girl, The Beverly Hillbillies, I Dream of Jeannie, Gomer Pyle, The Munsters, Green Acres, etc.

Funny, but when this same producer cast her in a commercial for soap it was because Ann had no sex appeal but now she's a beautiful and chic woman! It turned out great. And after all she wanted Don's opinion!
