When I was 16 in 1970, I had a Maxi coat just like this one..red patent leather with faux black fur collar and cuffs. I LOVED that coat, loved being like "THAT GIRL"..WAS a little tough stuffing into my high school locker tho 😅🤣😂
They were sometimes just called "slickers". Mine were magenta & a second one in solid black. The closest thing now to them are the long LL Bean raincoats with black corduroy collar & cuffs.
That stuff is enough to drive you crazy. Sticking to itself and making noise every time you move. I didn't like my wool coat any better as a little girl. Too many buttons and rough. I went for fake fur. As a teen in late 70s I got a full length rabbit fur. It was worn a couple of times only because it dropped hair everywhere. It was terrible.
Jerry Bauman with long sideburns and a wacky moustache. Being clean cut was on its way out. Even conservative Donald grew his hair a bit longer, so it got curly around the edges. But no wacky facial hair for Donald. We all know how well it turned out when Donald grew a beard during a hunting trip with his buddies. Ann was not thrilled.
The microphones on the set are picking up the crunchy sounds of Ann's long red vinyl coat. You would think someone would have noticed that before filming was completed.
There was blonde-wig Ruthie, and redhead-wig Ruthie. Two different actresses, with two different personalities. The blonde was serious, and more prone to getting angry. The redhead was more calm, and easygoing. The redhead got pregnant, but we never got to see the birth of the Bauman baby.
Loved this episode but wish they would have included the baby in future episodes. I believe that they made reference once and then nothing after that. Another show I loved back in the day - McMillian and Wife - did the same thing.
My God, is That Girl and Dick van dyke show the only TV shows on you tube now, shown in full? Laverne and Shirley, The Munsters, Rhoda, and Mary Tyler Moore show used to be shown in full, every ep. Now Laverne and Shirley are hard to find! They need to stay on You Tube!!!

The modest cover-up and the daring outfit. Very cool.

Don't get me wrong. Her coat looked pretty.
Bernie Kopell with a mustache! Wow!
😊I loved Marlos sense of style❤ in this episode boots black sweater necklace❤
Ann is dressed so nice while she's washing the windows😂
Bernie looks like 1967 John Lennon, Sergeant Pepper
OMG what happened to this level of style?? That girl-that jacket!
Donald was the best boyfriend!❤

This show started out with classic sharp fashion, then the 70's hit🤢
Don looks much better with shorter hair. I was never much on the sideburns, never had em.
I never had 'em either, but I always liked 'em. On guys, that is. I am a female. 😊
Me too.
The cheesey neck scarfs are over the top
At 10:30 Donald is dressed a little like a stereotyped movie director, which must be a deliberate joke.
No simple kiss! Appears making out with him!

Honestly. How many actresses played Ruth?
@@adriannalypeckyj2513 No, there were two actresses played Ruthie Bauman. Carolan Daniels from Season 2 - 3, Alice Borden from Season 4 - 5.

Anne got just what she needed - a 'father figure' boyfriend!

M&W was ok but he looked ridiculous with that 'stache.
All of a sudden, it's the 70s. Cardinelli designed that stuff?

Prefer the previous Ruth who’s prettier & cute.
I always thought she and Ted had something going on behind the scenes
