This looks like walking left into the gardens at Embankment tube station in London, it leads behind the Savoy hotel and the buildings there. There’s a bar called Gordon’s Wine Bar, please look it up, it’s under ground in old cellars and you’d love what it looks like, so atmospheric with dripping candle wax and dark and creepy looking, but such a good place to hang out!

I find everything I see and hear here breathtaking. I don't know why gloomy moods and rain ⛈ always captivate me so much😍. I was born in May and have always loved colors and happy moods🤣. There are also many romantic places, e.g. B. in old houses. I love gardens with all the beautiful colors in them. But this speaks to me just as strongly🤗. This might have been a bad idea, Gael thought, as he almost slipped for roughly the hundredth time that night. Sneaking into the lord's manor under the cover of both darkness and a thunder storm had seemed like a good idea at the time, especially after how well it had worked last time, but now he was beginning to regret it. Testing his position on a second story balcony to make sure he wouldn't slip, Gael then proceeded to fling a pair of grappling hooks with ropes attached up onto the third story balcony above him. His destination, the lord of the manor's bedchambers, was located on the third story of the enormous, five-story, stone behemoth from approximately three centuries ago. It was an impressive building in the way of drafty old castles and well preserved despite a few modern touches, such as the electric lights. Said lights made it one of the few buildings in the country to have electricity given what a novelty it was. Of course, those same lights, while impressive, made Gael's job much more difficult. Firelight cast much more indistinct shadows, could barely light a large room, and was generally too time-consuming to be of much help. Gael gave both of his ropes a swift tug, and then cursed as one of the hooks came flying past his head, nearly making him lose his balance as he avoided it. If the hook hit anything below, Gael was oblivious. The storm was too loud to hear much over which was why it was a good time to be sneaking in. Carefully, he pulled the hook back up and once again threw it towards the upper balcony. This time, it stayed firmly in place when he pulled on the rope. Thus reassured that he wouldn't fall to his death, Gael nimbly scaled the stone wall until he reached the third story balcony. He got one arm over the edge of the balcony, and was leaning on the rope to get his other arm up when the hook gave way, plummeting down to the lawns and leaving Gael stranded three stories up, hanging from just one arm. The rain continued to pour down, oblivious to Gael's predicament. His feet were dangling in the air, his left arm was locked securely around one of the stone pillars holding up the balcony's railing, and his right arm was grasping around frantically in search of similar purchase. Thankfully, he'd had enough sense to drop the rope when the hook had given way or he might've been in even worse trouble. Although the hook wasn't overly heavy, it was solid and it had had the force of gravity on its side which might've been enough to pull Gael down with it. Things weren't great as it was, because apparently, none of the other pillars were small enough to get a hand around. On top of that, Gael couldn't be sure that the fingers of his left hand weren't losing their grip. Finally, after much searching, he found a second handhold and prepared to hoist himself all the way up onto the balcony. In a single, quick movement that he had performed numerous times, Gael let go and reached up with his left hand while pushing down with his right. He smiled as the fingers of his left hand brushed the railing of the balcony. He had done it, again. Unfortunately, the celebration was too soon. Just before he could get a secure grip on the railing, his right hand slipped. Gael's stomach flipped uncomfortably as he scrabbled futilely at the balcony while gravity grabbed him in a promise of certain doom. Of course this would be the job that did him in, he thought, bitterly. He closed his eyes, preparing for the unpleasant fall and even more unpleasant landing, then opened them again when a strong hand grabbed his wrist. Looking up, Gael found himself staring into the face of Lord Theodore Jamison, Theo to his friends, the very person whose house he'd been sneaking into. "Caught you," he said, smiling. "Again," Gael agreed. "You don't seem to be terribly good at this whole thief thing," Theo informed him. "I don't usually get caught this much," Gael explained. Theo stared down at him for a moment longer, before pulling Gael up. "You're lucky I'm a light sleeper," the lord told the thief, helping him clamber over the railing and onto the safety of the balcony. "Oh, please," Gael shot back, "You sleep like the dead; you were up waiting for me." "Well, yes," Theo admitted, leading the way into his warm chambers and out of the rain, "Why didn't you use the front door?" Gael moved across the room to place himself squarely in front of the fire, which was lit for warmth, ignoring the fact that he was dripping rainwater all over what was probably a very expensive carpet. "It was a matter of honour," he explained, "I'm a thief; the front door is expected and offers no challenge whatsoever." "You've clearly never met my butler," Theo muttered, half under his breath, then louder, "Is honour really worth breaking your neck over?" "No, and, as you can see, I did nothing of the sort," Gael pointed out. "Only because I saved you," Theo countered. "Which is much appreciated," Gael acknowledged. "Yes, well, it would be terribly rude to let one's lover fall to their death, especially off one's own balcony," Theo said, looking rather pleased with himself. "Terribly," Gael agreed, shivering even in front of the fire. Theo noticed Gael shivering and declared, "You'll catch your death, standing around in wet clothes. Look, you're shivering. We must get you warmed up." "You can hardly be much drier than I am," Gael grumbled, not really arguing, "It's positively pouring out there." A few minutes later, their clothes were drying by the fire, and Gael and Theo were both much warmer, curled up together in Theo's bed. Theo had changed into a pair of pajamas, and lent a pair to Gael, although they were a bit big on him. Gael thought he looked ridiculous (Theo maintained he didn't), but didn't mind terribly because they provided another layer of warmth against the chill. "Good night, Gael," Theo told him, slinging an arm around his waist. "Good night, Theo," Gael mumbled back, feeling safe and warm and half-asleep already. Outside, the rain continued to pour, and inside the fire crackled merrily. Both cocooned the chambers in a sort of cozy isolation, blocking out the world; it had no place here and would undoubtedly be there in the morning. Until then, the rain would pour, the fire would crackle, and the couple in the bed would sleep peacefully, protected by the elements.

Honor and justice! After losing all that was precious to him in one swoop, justice had to prevail. For if it were up to him, vengeance would have sufficed….far more. Still, after much thought, that kind of poison would never quench the thirst of seeing his beloved again. Through much contemplation and agonizing grief. The only way he could set any semblance of right, for her, was to recover the evidence needed to expose the fiend who destroyed his dreams. Making him resort to the past life, he so desperately tried to escape.

This might have been a bad idea, Gael thought, as he almost slipped for roughly the hundredth time that night. Sneaking into the lord's manor under the cover of both darkness and a thunder storm had seemed like a good idea at the time, especially after how well it had worked last time, but now he was beginning to regret it. Testing his position on a second story balcony to make sure he wouldn't slip, Gael then proceeded to fling a pair of grappling hooks with ropes attached up onto the third story balcony above him. His destination, the lord of the manor's bedchambers, was located on the third story of the enormous, five-story, stone behemoth from approximately three centuries ago. It was an impressive building in the way of drafty old castles and well preserved despite a few modern touches, such as the electric lights. Said lights made it one of the few buildings in the country to have electricity given what a novelty it was. Of course, those same lights, while impressive, made Gael's job much more difficult. Firelight cast much more indistinct shadows, could barely light a large room, and was generally too time-consuming to be of much help.
Gael gave both of his ropes a swift tug, and then cursed as one of the hooks came flying past his head, nearly making him lose his balance as he avoided it. If the hook hit anything below, Gael was oblivious. The storm was too loud to hear much over which was why it was a good time to be sneaking in. Carefully, he pulled the hook back up and once again threw it towards the upper balcony. This time, it stayed firmly in place when he pulled on the rope. Thus reassured that he wouldn't fall to his death, Gael nimbly scaled the stone wall until he reached the third story balcony. He got one arm over the edge of the balcony, and was leaning on the rope to get his other arm up when the hook gave way, plummeting down to the lawns and leaving Gael stranded three stories up, hanging from just one arm.
The rain continued to pour down, oblivious to Gael's predicament. His feet were dangling in the air, his left arm was locked securely around one of the stone pillars holding up the balcony's railing, and his right arm was grasping around frantically in search of similar purchase. Thankfully, he'd had enough sense to drop the rope when the hook had given way or he might've been in even worse trouble. Although the hook wasn't overly heavy, it was solid and it had had the force of gravity on its side which might've been enough to pull Gael down with it. Things weren't great as it was, because apparently, none of the other pillars were small enough to get a hand around. On top of that, Gael couldn't be sure that the fingers of his left hand weren't losing their grip.
Finally, after much searching, he found a second handhold and prepared to hoist himself all the way up onto the balcony. In a single, quick movement that he had performed numerous times, Gael let go and reached up with his left hand while pushing down with his right. He smiled as the fingers of his left hand brushed the railing of the balcony. He had done it, again. Unfortunately, the celebration was too soon. Just before he could get a secure grip on the railing, his right hand slipped. Gael's stomach flipped uncomfortably as he scrabbled futilely at the balcony while gravity grabbed him in a promise of certain doom. Of course this would be the job that did him in, he thought, bitterly. He closed his eyes, preparing for the unpleasant fall and even more unpleasant landing, then opened them again when a strong hand grabbed his wrist.
Looking up, Gael found himself staring into the face of Lord Theodore Jamison, Theo to his friends, the very person whose house he'd been sneaking into. "Caught you," he said, smiling. "Again," Gael agreed. "You don't seem to be terribly good at this whole thief thing," Theo informed him. "I don't usually get caught this much," Gael explained. Theo stared down at him for a moment longer, before pulling Gael up. "You're lucky I'm a light sleeper," the lord told the thief, helping him clamber over the railing and onto the safety of the balcony. "Oh, please," Gael shot back, "You sleep like the dead; you were up waiting for me."
"Well, yes," Theo admitted, leading the way into his warm chambers and out of the rain, "Why didn't you use the front door?" Gael moved across the room to place himself squarely in front of the fire, which was lit for warmth, ignoring the fact that he was dripping rainwater all over what was probably a very expensive carpet. "It was a matter of honour," he explained, "I'm a thief; the front door is expected and offers no challenge whatsoever." "You've clearly never met my butler," Theo muttered, half under his breath, then louder, "Is honour really worth breaking your neck over?" "No, and, as you can see, I did nothing of the sort," Gael pointed out. "Only because I saved you," Theo countered. "Which is much appreciated," Gael acknowledged. "Yes, well, it would be terribly rude to let one's lover fall to their death, especially off one's own balcony," Theo said, looking rather pleased with himself. "Terribly," Gael agreed, shivering even in front of the fire. Theo noticed Gael shivering and declared, "You'll catch your death, standing around in wet clothes. Look, you're shivering. We must get you warmed up." "You can hardly be much drier than I am," Gael grumbled, not really arguing, "It's positively pouring out there."
A few minutes later, their clothes were drying by the fire, and Gael and Theo were both much warmer, curled up together in Theo's bed. Theo had changed into a pair of pajamas, and lent a pair to Gael, although they were a bit big on him. Gael thought he looked ridiculous (Theo maintained he didn't), but didn't mind terribly because they provided another layer of warmth against the chill. "Good night, Gael," Theo told him, slinging an arm around his waist. "Good night, Theo," Gael mumbled back, feeling safe and warm and half-asleep already. Outside, the rain continued to pour, and inside the fire crackled merrily. Both cocooned the chambers in a sort of cozy isolation, blocking out the world; it had no place here and would undoubtedly be there in the morning. Until then, the rain would pour, the fire would crackle, and the couple in the bed would sleep peacefully, protected by the elements.
