I have purchased several of these cartoons to watch on Saturday mornings. My wife had cancer and one Saturday she said what is that your watching and I told her it was Tarzan Lord of the Jungle. I helped her into the living room and we watch cartoons for 3 hours. She said she just understood me more with my cartoon choices.
I remember most of those cartoons, especially Tarzan, and The Hardy Boys. Filmation's cartoons often gave HANNA BARBARA a run for it's money. Good animation and good stories often gave Filmation the win for me, but then I wasn't 6 to 12 years old.
the Nit wits Tyrone and Gladys were based on the characters created by Artie Johnson and Ruth Buzzi originally seen on the Rowan and Martin's Laugh In show from the late sixties.
Watch all of these. Barely remember Gulliver's Travels but remember the animation. Not familiar with The Nitwits though. Tarzan was created by Filmations. Same animation studio that did Blackstar, He-Man and She-Ra! 😊
I remember several of these cartoons fondly. Although my exposure to the rest was somewhat restricted by their unavailability over here. Secondly, Saturday Morning Cartoons was not a thing in the UK. Certainly not in the 1960s & 70s. British children were more likely to have barely an hour of Telly scheduled for them. Instead we had to make our own entertainment (That old cliché). If one had mates, a bicycle, woodland, fields a football (No, we do not call it soccer), or a cricket bat, stumps and a ball, one was all set. Alternatively, tree branches and twigs could be fashioned into bows and arrows, rifles and handguns. (Toy guns? You must be having a bubble. Not a sausage). I consider myself extremely lucky, I had a dog to keep me company when my mates were in church, working, or studying. Throughout the 1980s & 90s Saturday mornings were dominated by cheap live TV shows that ran for 3+ hours straight. TISWAS & Swap Shop were just terrible, never ending unwatchable tripe. I almost envy North American kids, for their half a day of cartoons every week. You lucky sods.
forgot two that were half mentioned. josie and the pussycats in outer space. the harlem globetrotters in video are the regular harlem globe trotter though they had a super hero version later
Tarzan was my favorite Saturday morning cartoon, and years later inspired me to read the Edgar Rice Burroughs novels on which it is based. To date, I've read volumes 1--6, 10, and 21. You don't see animation like that anymore. 😁🦁🦍🐒
I remember all of them. And did the rest of you noticed that almost every show picked is all from the same studio that once was "The kings of Saturday mornings", HANNA-BARBERA!
Filmation's version of "Tarzan: Lord of the Jungle" was a great pick for number one 70s cartoon. But HOW, pray tell, could you leave out JABBERJAW? Caught the "Jaws" shark craze, and with the title character channeling Jerome "Curley" Howard, it was damned FUNNY!
Cool! I recognize about half including part 1!! So the Baggy pants character Gladys kinda reminds me of the Gladys Ormphby character played by Ruth Buzzi on Laugh In! Got a list from the back of my mind with older stuff; FELIX THE CAT 1958 MISTER MAGOO 1960-62 BEANY AND CECIL 1962-67 THE MIGHTY HERCULES 1963-1966 JOHNNY QUEST 1964-65 SPACE GHOST 1966 SUPER CHICKEN 1967-69 DUDLEY DO-RIGHT 1969-70 SPEED BUGGY 1973 GRAPE APE 1975 Thanks for the memories as Bob Hope used to sing! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
I remember all of these except the hardy boys. The first couple were parts of other TV shows. Travels was part of the bananasplits show. CB Bears was part of the pink Panther show. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the fact that super Tyrone and Gladys were actually characters from the TV show laugh - in. He was always coming onto Gladys and she was always hitting him with her purse. “Ms Hornsby, do you believe in the hereafter“? Gladys would answer “of course I do!“ Tyrone “then you know what? I’m here after!” She then beat him with her purse

Tarzan definitely was my favorite of this bunch, with Dynomutt a close second!
Definitely not forgotten by this 62 year young man. Cherished memories, todays kids will never know.

Tyrone (Horneigh) and Gladys (Ormphby) were taken from a series of skits featured in the comedy variety show "Laugh-In."
Played by Arte Johnson and Ruth Buzzi.
How about The Groovey Ghoulies?
Yes!
the Nit wits Tyrone and Gladys were based on the characters created by Artie Johnson and Ruth Buzzi originally seen on the Rowan and Martin's Laugh In show from the late sixties.
Ahhh forgot about Arnie! ☮️
I remember ALL of these cartoons. Thanks for the memories. GOD bless us all.
Hard Core!! I recognize half! ☮️
Captain Caveman and the teen angels was my favorite
I missed those time when tv was fun to watch on Saturday morning
I found Tarzan season 1 on dvd. Wish they would come out with the rest.

I watched all these growing up in the 80s

6:56 🎶 Marshall, Will and Holly,
Went on an expedition,
During the _grea-test_ earthquake ever known! 🎶
I still like to use Grump's catchphrase from Gulliver "Ohh NOO, we're all gonna die!".
Josie Captain Caveman ' Valley of the Dinosaurs and the Harlem globetrotters I remember
forgot two that were half mentioned. josie and the pussycats in outer space. the harlem globetrotters in video are the regular harlem globe trotter though they had a super hero version later
My cable carrier now carries MeTv toons. Cartoons 24/7. I love it.
Loved Valley of the Dinosaurs. It was a shame it only ran for one season
Only remember a few of these; Shmoo, Super Globetrotters, Tarzan, and Captain Caveman.
You used mostly Globetrotters (1974?) Footage while talking about the Super Globetrotters.
Good video, though.
Ya I didn't remember the word Super being in there when I watched!! ☮️
Some of the shows was 🔥 for me & brothers pretty cool great vib - keep up gd work .. 💥💨🔥

You don't see animation like that anymore. 😁🦁🦍🐒
Robonic Stooges was a short on The Skate Birds on CBS (USA).
"Those meddling kids again ! "

BEANY AND CECIL 1962-67
THE MIGHTY HERCULES 1963-1966
JOHNNY QUEST 1964-65
SPACE GHOST 1966
SUPER CHICKEN 1967-69
DUDLEY DO-RIGHT 1969-70

“Ms Hornsby, do you believe in the hereafter“?
Gladys would answer “of course I do!“
Tyrone “then you know what? I’m here after!”
She then beat him with her purse
I watched Josie and the Pussycats, Valley of the Dinosaurs, Tarzan- the monkey was Nakima, Blue Falcon, Captain Caveman, Harlem Globetrotters.
The Lone Ranger, as voiced by William Conrad, was by my opinion, the best version to grace small screens and large. My error, this aired in 1980.
Ah, Tarzan, one of the greatest of Filmation's productions. They also did a pretty good Zorro.
Gladys & Tyrone were based on people from the TV show Laugh-In
At #2 taking the top spot Tarzan. they forgot #1.
Valley of the dinosaurs sounds exactly like Land of the Lost
2 I didn’t know
*Unk Bow Mangani Unk!*
What a silly title
