  • Mdina is a fortified city and the old capital city of Malta from antiquity to the medieval period (1530). The city has a population of just under 300, but it is contiguous with the town of Rabat, which takes its name from the Arabic word for suburb, and has a population of over 11,000.
Mdina's architecture is a mix of Norman and Baroque style.
Malta is a multicultural country because it was ruled by the Phoenicians, the Arabs and the Ottomans, by the Kingdom of Sicily, captured by French forces and finally under British occupation. The Maltese language is strongly influenced by Arabic culture. The official languages of Malta are Maltese and English.
Stay tuned because we will post more videos from Malta.
