The way and manner this GMO is going in Nigeria and many other African countries is such an insult to our collective intelligence as a people. GRV has great points 👉. A good example is : "Agric fowls and local fowls." Most Nigerians would admit that eggs produced by local fowls and the meat of local fowls taste better and cost more than eggs and meat of agric fowls. Let's pay attention to his advocacy and quit the criticism of his ideas.

      @ADE-of-LAGOS Organic foods don't contain GMO, and that's what l buy. By the way, because foods in the United States contain GMO, it makes it okay to consume in Nigeria. Why do some folks have to measure the standards in Nigeria with countries in the West? This morning, l was watching a Nigerian attorney lambasting the book written by Dele Farotimi. The examples this attorney used was deformation of character in France and the UK. It was just so absurd for an educated attorney comparing the laws in France, a French speaking country to Nigeria. Then he mentioned the UK. Nigeria is a sovereign country. I don't understand why the comparison. Nigeria is not under slavery.

    Arise news is asking questions like persons who have done no private research on GMOs seeds and crops.
    It is very easy for the provider of the GMO seed to control your food by either increasing the cost of seeds or by refusing to sell to you even with your money as they know that yields drop drastically after the first planting season.
    A whole lot of the GMO crops have been shown to be detrimental to health after long years of consumption.
    Does Nigeria even have a robust seed bank of its indigenous seeds that it can return to when she chooses to.
    The incoming government of President elect Trump is bringing in RFK junior to investigate these GMO seed companies, foods and even the regulatory agencies because of the unusually large cases of disease for an advanced country like the USA. Especially as a result of the outrageous number of children's cancers kidney failure just to mention a few.
    Finally can't Arise as a company, sponsor a sincere thorough investigation for the sake of Nigerians.,
    Personally there are foods I no longer eat whenever I come into Nigeria. WISDOM IS PROFITABLE TO DIRECT

Refuse this in every and any way you can. He didnt lie in terms of the points he gave in this video. Bringing in GMO in nigeria will be a disaster to our indigenously original seeds and to the health of Nigerians. Nigeria may import seedless GMO products to relieve food scarcity but not grow GMO products in Nigerian soil because we have no capability, willingness, and technologies to label and differentiate the GMO from Non-GMO Agricultural materials. You can not hastily because of food insecurity run into another much more serious problems.

    Without even going more than 3 minutes into this story I’m already able to see and understand the level of jeopardy and detriment of what all these implies. Nobody needs to be a conspiracy theorist to do the maths so I wonder why this nonsense still prevails!!!
    Simple implication is your food can be controlled because it’s now dependent on cooperations making profits, and now they can decide wether you eat or starve in the future because of how dependent we will eventually be on them for seeds.
    Who are these fellow Nigerians/Africans agreeing to enslave a whole nation just for their short term gain??
    I’m so tired of these kinds of people who are blindly selfish.
    GMOs have always been known to be a problem and I have not even talked about the health problems yet.
    I’m 33 now and even before I was a teenager I have known about GMOs and its negative implications that keeps growing so I don’t think this is a matter of people being naive but rather wicked and selfish enough to enslave us a bit more.

  • @isee8423
    @isee8423 9 дней назад +3

    Very important segment. A scenario where the whole crop has failed has occurred in banana farming. When you get everyone to plant the same variety of a crop, if there is a disease that attacks the crop the whole countries yield is affected. If you have multiple varieties being planted if one gets affected by pest or disease the others may be resistant and you don't have universal crop failure. That's just one scenario. There are many reasons why resisting GMO seeds is best for a country. The advocate has listed many but the list of reasons are far and wide. Another thing, these companies collect genetic material from all over the world and store it for themselves and patent their knowledge. Then they go around spreading their patented seeds. So what happens if that the farmers aren't maintaining genetic diversity by planting different varieties and types of seeds they are all no planting the same seeds. Eventually the varieties starts to disappear from the farming ecosystem because the farmers are not growing them. Then the only person with this genetic material is the Conglomerate seed companies and the own the patent too.
