The Purdie Rainey rythm track is a rythmic masterpiece, and your lesson is a masterclass. The track deserves a headphone for detailed hearing, the lessons deserves both ears, hands and time to be fully valorized.
Dan thank you so much. A perfect break down of this amazing bassline. I have been changing it around a bit live. I read an interview with chuck where he was asked about what he plays under that horn section and he said he wasn't sure and he just came up with it on the spot "bouncing around on the D"

Dan - as always thoughtful and informative!! Any recommendations for bass mutes? Not sure what kind yours was. Didn’t see any on your Amazon page. Tried to make one from a kitchen sponge, not happy with it. Wondering what you use…

Thanks! This is a discontinued Barker bass mute but Nordstrand do a good one. Or you can experiment with different foams or sponges or even wrap some felt over the top of the strings (Carole Kaye did/does this).

Thanks! None for these videos. I have a Mark Bass combo (12 inch speaker) with extension cab for gigs but often use the venue’s equipment too.
@@OnlineBassCourses Thank you. Which ones exactly if I may ask? I use my audio interface and headphones/monitors with amp sim in DAW when I practice in home. Live it's pedal preamp or venues equipment like you but I think it's time to have my own amp and cab cause many rehearsals and gig situation force me to have my own amp. Not to mention the surprise of some band members that I didn't have any amplifier lol. I have StingRays too so maybe I check the Markbass amps you use myself.
