Did anyone else die inside when he spun the tapping tool at 1000 RPM with a power tool 😢
Nope, I was already dead when it happened.
I died when I saw the tap
Yes!!!!
Thats an uncoated machine tap. If its somewhere between M8-M10 hole size then you can go from around 320-800RPM for HSS machine taps. About twice that for coated ones and if you are rich enough for a carbide one you can go as fast as the drill lets you go. There are also faster "standard" taps but rare
No don’t think you died either otherwise you wouldn’t have been able to send your comment
Pull it tight counterclockwise. That way the tension will force the bolt to tighten instead of loosen.
That was the only thing I got out of this video 😂
i was gonna say it needs a washer or itwill undo itself. but this is clever.
Ya, that thin cheap wire will loosen it. 😂

Why did you make the easy thing difficult?
How is it done then?

For people to comment
First of all, that is a wire, not a cable. First clue that they have no idea what they are doing.
Second, dangerous way to ruin a tap.
What makes the ratcheting noise while they are tightening it in the wrong direction so that the tension on the wire will loosen it?
You realize a tap is hardened steel and could break using it that way and if not wearing eye protection watch out! Be safe!
perhaps a crap quality tap. But a dormer machine tap will do that easily on mild steel thickness of 3 mm.. considering the pitch thread is around 1.5 and 1.75 if its m12 size. not much to hold....
👏 safety first
Wind the cable the opposite way so it pulls the bolt tighter

Second thing is that the inside of that slot won't be galvanized. Unless it's a stainless bolt, it'll rust through in no time at all.
Using the nut to lock the threads does not help the fact that this tiny and unbalanced threat is going rip out far faster than a peg that goes through both sides of the post. This design is a weak joint prone to failure under force here.

The threads will pull out when you tighten the nut. The allthread is already sagging.
In any case, you drilled the hole to big, the tap barely did anything, hence, little to no metal bur in the tap. Great method though, wrong drill bit.

If only there were already an easy to find and affordable product that did this same job, didn't require any power tools, a step bit, a tap, and a grinder.
IF ONLY.
The length of threased rod where the wire is attached makes the lever action at the bolt threads increase dramatically. It will pull out on its own when the wire gets cold and shortens.
On top of such bolt size (Threads) in that thin of steel...

Not wood and a regular Joe wouldn't know a tap from a die.
I guess I need to clarify. I don't need these bits for wood. I have a metal project coming up and I'm only familiar with wood bits as that's the medium I usually work with.
And using the zip tie as a depth stop for me works well - can't read the size when it's spinning. The zip tie It's better than tape for this.

The fact that it's hollow is why I might tap with a drill. I would advice not using a fast power tool to tap with. But in something like this it should work out. You're barely cutting any actual threads and it's not gunna bottom out and snap.

Never ever use a tap in a power tool
For this channel it doesn't really matter if you use a pipe wrench as a hammer or a screwdriver as a chisel. This channel has only one purpose and that is to upset people who respect the quality for which a specific tool is made.
Do people actually believe this? Do they think all the threaded holes in their engine block are hand-tapped or some bs like that?
Some people don't understand physics. For those of us who live in the 21st century and understand physics, power tapping isn't an issue as we understand taps break from uneven force.
Das ist aber eine super Idee😊
Thanks 🤝👋❤️
You fucked RHS strength of that seamless column!😅
With the dissimilar metals and ambient temperature differences throughout the years, the wire, nut, bolt and post will eventually disconnect, oxidize and degrade into their separate parent constitutes.
all you had to do was wind clockwise and it might actually do something useful.
Я тоже хочу сказать,что прочность конструкции прямо зависит от толщины стенки квадратного профиля
People just love to post themselves playing tinkertoys.

Столько сил и средств потратить, зачем? Напрашивается только один вывод: леплю хуйню ненужную лижбы сцуа в тренд нахуй тут лайк ставить обсалютно бесполезная хуйня
Depends what you use it for, and actually in this case, you can't count just the threads in pipe wall, a nut counts too. In fact, without nut and pipe threads being tight, nothing happens. I hope you understand how this is not a 2mm thread connection.
What's the point of the nut when it loosens the same direction as the bolt? Surely if it was to come loose they'd just unscrew together in unison? To me it seems the nut is only useful if there's something the other end of the bolt.. or have I missed something?
Since the hole is threaded, the bolt threads in and then the nut acts like a lock nut, putting pressure on the bolt so it won't back out. ie; the nut, when screwed in against the steel surface pushes against it, and also pulls the bolt, thus helping to keep it from rotating out.
It’s a jam nut goober
You missed something.. how a thread and nut works 🤦

Brilliant idea
You never EVER tap with power tools. Only hand tools.
That hole seemed too large for the tap.
Leave the tail longer. When you are done tightening, wrap is round the taught wire, now the nut is not needed to keep the wire tight.
Always use the hand tap. The drill will break it almost every time.
👌🤝
First big thing to go thru that is ripping the bolt out, and also a body part
