Great 13 rum line-up. Fascinating to see how your choice of rum alters the flavor. Since you asked, what rums would I have liked to see you try? Most specs I see for this drink call for a light Puerto Rican rum. I would have liked to see how Don Q Cristal stacks up against some of the better lightly aged column still rums (Flor de Cana Extra Seco 4, Ron del Barrilito 2 Star) and some of the better lightly aged blended rums (Chairman's White, Santa Teresa Claro, Cubay Carta Blanca, Brugal Blanca, Diplomatico Planas). And then, once you identify your favorite "light rum" see how other styles stack up in the cocktail vs. the spec's call-out style (light Puerto Rican in this case). But you do you. I appreciate how you use your large rum bar to help us figure out what works better than most.
That would've been a great angle for another follow up video! Where were you 2 weeks ago. I reckon Claro would've nailed that! Something about the flavours in Claro and the Cocktail. However, Chairmans White & Cubay etc were kinda covered by the Cubay Carta Dorada and the Doorlys 3yo...Kinda...

I promise, you that wouldn't have worked. But yeah, I could've used it in the Spiced & Flavoured Rum video dropping today....
This is one of those classic tiki drinks that I've wanted to make for a while but haven't gotten around to mostly because it calls for fresh pineapple chunks. I've seen recipes call for light rum or Puerto Rican rum, so I'd probably use Don Q Gold, Ron del Barrilito, or Bacardi 8 or maybe one of the Flor de Cana rums. Looking at the specs, I'd also be curious to see how one of the Pusser's rums would fair or maybe Black Tot. Cheers! Excellent video.
If you watch the other channel, you’ll kinda realise Pussers won’t work. I would actually guess that Bacardi 8 will be too over bearing too. Well for me anyway. It deffo suited the lighter styles of Rum.

what about a demerara rum? or even a lighter jamaican like appleton
I did have El Dorado 8 ready for this, but opted against it for some reason. Lighter Jamaican, well I had the Rum Bar, so that kinda covered that a little bit. Granted Rum Bar is not appleton. But its a similar style, just with a touch more Ester/Funk to it.

Ha, about an hours worth of Filming... well maybe 2 if you include the other 2 Videos on the other channel. All in the name of Science thought, right....
Will give this one a miss, too minty for my tastes.
