- This shows you how to add an auxiliary input to a 2005-2011 Renault Clio, Espace, Kangoo, Lagoona, Megane, Scenic, Trafic or Twingo fitted with an 'update list' car stereo featuring 'expert mode'. This cheap eBay cable lets you play MP3 music files to any device fitted with a standard 3.5mm stereo jack.

at 3:40 when he started playing the music, i could swear that music is added over the video in the editor. there's no way it could sound so clear from the car speakers and mover...captured by the mic of your camera

I'm a new driver and I'm astounded by how easy this was! Thank you!
can you send me a link with the tools bc i cannot find them
Cheers for this mate. Nice simple instructions.
I bought one of these(same model+year) on Saturday. Can't wait for the aux cable to arrive.
Having a clio for my birthday soon and was going to buy a new radio, so glad I found this video, thank you so much
WelshKid 1 Did it work?
Thanks for the tutorial! Added this to my Clio 3(steering wheel on the left). Plug it in into a Bluetooth receiver and it works perfectly!
You beauty. Worked a treat on my clio freeway 2008. Many thanks.
Great video. Best 8€ I ever spent on a car accessory.
Dam this actually worked for me just finished installing the aux and the sound is top quality THANKS BUD👌🔊🔊🔊🔊👌🎵🎵🎵🎵
Thanks a lot man, you made it soo easy.
Works great in Renault Modus 07. Easy install. Can speak on phone and listen to RUclips, music in media on phone thank you for your tutorial. Much appreciated !!! Now I am looking at what else i can connect to the 3.5mm jack.
Awesome video. Worked perfectly. Thanks
It worked! Thanks my guy 🙌🏻
be aware you need to press the 'SOURCE' button 2 sec', and than use the small wheel behind the wheel to change it into 'AUX' mode, and then with the volume button also behind the wheel change it to 'ON'
Thank so much man, i can liten to music in my car now thanks to you, thank you

Great work 😯👏👏
Very helpful thanks!!!!
Thanks for the video.
Hi I have Renault Clio 2003 and is it same cable like yours? I was thinking to buy same audio aux cable
Works perfectly 👌
Thank you perfect !
Renault megan 2 ,dziękuję bardzo, good job.
Worked cheers
Life saver :)
any solution for the previous generation of megane??
Excelente. Voy a comprar el cable y ver que tal queda. Muchas gracias!! Saludos desde Argentina.
De nada! No se preocupe.
Thanks for the video|
Cheers dude
is there any possibility that mine doesn't have an expert mode? what can i do to turn aux on without it?
Hi mate, great video. Do you need to unplug the power of the radio to add the aux cable in?
No, should be able to slide it out and keep power connected, so no code required.
Very nice, are your Clio speakers stock? Audio is pretty clean if the music wasnt an edit.
Speakers are stock. Music was an edit. It was AhHa in real life, I just 'augmented it' in post (I know, I shouldn't have). Still, it sounds as good as the source MP3 in real life though.
Sorry if this has already been asked but what do i need to search in ebay to get that cable?
does anyone know can i put dvd 📀 (with music) in tuner?
I used your instruction to connect the cable to the radio in my Clio3 from 2007.
When I play music from my phone or another device it comes only from the right side speakers...
FM and CD works fine tough... I already experimented with mono and stereo files.
Have you any idea how to fix this issue?
Hey, did you found the fix to this issue? I have the same problem..
I didn't get aux option in my renault laguna 2 radio
Are you still able to use the CD player whilst this is plugged in to the back of the stereo? Like, are you able to toggle between the two whilst it is connected?
Yes, once you enter the hidden menu you can flick between the sources using the dash or steering wheel controls, so CD player is still available.
I see thisd is old but i have 2 quiestions.
1. Does this old unit play mp3 files directly from cd root?
2. Does this whole fit a standard unit player? (and cables)
No, this OEM factory unit doesn't play MP3's, and yes, the dash slot is a standard DIN size.
i have the same stereo in a megane 2007 and i searched the whole menu and cant find the aux (on/off) setting any advice or is it a dead end!??
Did you have a look in the manual for how to access AUX mode? press and hold mode button for a few secs I think...
Cheers buddy
Works perfectly on my 2005 Clio II :D
Hello. Thanx for the video.
Does "AUX" appear before installing the cable or I have to install it first. I have a Scenic II from 2004 and when I search for "AUX" I don't find it!
If you enter 'expert' mode, then aux appears whether th cable is there or not.
Thanks for the video, I have a problem though. In my Renault Laguna 3 the yellow cable is connected with an extra yellow connector. Now I can unplug the yellow cable just fine but the extra connector just doesn't come out. Its really stuck. Do you know how I can fix that?
Not sure. I'd be careful not to tug too hard. I do recall mine was very tight though if that helps.
Hi,
I have a Renault Clio Campus 2007 model with an update list stereo. I bought an aux cable and managed to attach it to the correct port however the aux function isn’t showing up as a mode! Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks
same here
Mike I’ve got a new car now but for memory I think I had to instead get a Bluetooth radio transmitter which I plugged into the cigarette lighter socket and then tune the radio into the right signal - it’s more simple than I’ve put it! They’re about £10 on Amazon!
@@hannahswinson8116 legend thanks!
Anyone knows if this works on the 2004 model?
Hey thanks for the video.
I just a bought a Renault Clio from 2006. Do you know how to identify if this Clio has the standard or the "update list" radio (preferably without removing the radio)?
The previous owner couldn't tell me.
Cheers!
Nevermind, I figured it out.
Just did the steps in the radio menu to check if AUX is shown. And yes it is.
I double checked by removing the Radio and the AUX Port is there.
I even triple checked and just looked at the radio and it says "Update list" lol
@@frankdrebin420 Great, was about to reply! I still have mine and love it (the car and the stereo).
Hi. I'm also using Renault Clio 2005. Is there a USB port in this car
Hi mate! I have Renault Clio II 2003 and is there any possible aux cable for it
Not sure. Mine is a Clio III. It would take about 30 seconds to slide the stereo out and check if the cable connector is there. Also see if you can access 'advanced features' to enable Auxilliary input.
👍, clio sport blue edition MEXICO
Can you use this installation to listen to phone calls though your speakers?
You can but you still need your phone close to talk since there's no in car mic like a built in Bluetooth system
The problem is: AUX is not in the list when I hold the button for EXPERT mode. I can enable/disable MW/LW etc. but AUX is not in that list...
Any help?
Wouter Deleersnyder you were using the right control, use the left buttons and you'll find it. happened to me too
What did you press to turn the aux on
SRC, or source. Once Aux mode is selected from the hidden menu, this cycles through the sources, CD, Tuner, Aux etc.
Can anyone help? I've tried this with my 2007 Renault Twingo, I've plugged the cable in as shown in the video and held down the expert button, but there is no Aux option showing. Any advice?
I think it means you don't have the higher specification stereo with extra functions.
Meu som deu error e não aparece opção pra por o código
Cable is in right, but can't get the bit where it says aux off/on bit to work, any way of turning it on
Go to 1 min 56 sec, it explains it there. Cheers.
Consulta se puede utilizar con los mandos del volante las funciones del volumen y demás acciones con el iPhone/ipod conectado.
Saludos desde Argentina
Sí, todas las funciones funcionan con los controles del volante. Gracias desde Australia!
I have a 2006 mk3 1.4 clio with a Cabasse stereo will this cable work?
If it is a factory Renault stereo, then yes, it should.
My radio is the same except it doesn't have this same input.. i already got the cable but its got nowhere to be plugged. My renault is scenic 2 1.9 dci
Sorry to hear, you have to have the radio with the 'expert function'. Mine is a 2008 Clio Sport 197.
Would spotify through my phone work with this?
Yes.
Hi just fitted my auxiliary cable but just not showing aux mode and not working either.
I have a Renault traffic van 2006 and even the seller said it is compatible.
😭😭😭😭😭
Did u turn it off and on again?
And the radio has got to be a update list
how did you get the cable through the hole?
What i did is to use a long thin stick like an unwound wire coat hanger and tie the cord to the tip of it (Elastic band or hair tie will do). Once the cord and wire is through the hole to where you want it just untie it and pull out the stick.
Alot easier than trying to get a the cord in by itself.
Hi mate ive just installed mine tried to use the aux from my phone and its just not working any ideas??
Hmm, so I assume your Renault stereo has the 'hidden mode' which allows Auxilliary output? Make sure the volume is up on the phone/MP3 player too!
I just unplugged all the cable at the back then plugged them all back in and it started to work thanks for the video man👍👊
Cheers dude?
So it doesent work in a renault clio 2004?
2004 was the previous series so I'm not sure. I think if you can enter the correct 'mode' as I decline, it should work.. also pull the stereo out and check if the rear plug spot exists.
1 like , for a-ha
Do you know if this cable will work on a Clio II 2003?
Depends on the stereo. If it's the same unit, then yes.
I have the earlier model. this one is for renault 2005-
I will check today if I have the "expert" mode on mine.
And did it work? I just got a clio 2003 and i would lik to do this as well !
Kalifa Dabo i look too
You should look if you can have acces to AUX option, or just look if there is "update list" written on your radio :)
helloo , does the steering stalk control works to ?
Yes, steering stalk control works perfectly with AUX enabled via the front panel.
tnx
Dies it work for a Renault Modus Of 2008
If the stereo is the same model, then yes.
I used silicone to stick an old laptop to the centre of my black Clio's bonnet.
You should see the young lads at the lights.
Terrified they are.
What you needed was a 6 inch monster tacho on the bonnet!
So why not provide a link to it? What do we search for?
It's because I'm not endorsing any product - just showing what can be Search eBay for "renault aux stereo mp3" and you should find one for about $5.
pescado99 yes I got one last week, I'm glad I found thus video, otherwise I'd have to get a new stereo, so thanks!
does this work for every old clio?
I believe it depends on the stereo fitted. I think some viewers have done this on their Maganes
pescado99 im picking up my 2002 clio on saturday and i’m not sure if i should buy the cable yet or not as it might not work. what clio is this in the video?
i can't hear the sound from my phone
samira lush mine plays from only 1 speaker
Such an easy job. Baffles me why they didn't just have an aux port when they went through the trouble of ensuring the radio can play aux files!!!! Bizarre!
Exactly what I thought when I installed my cable when I had this car. Why bother having an auxiliary option on the stereo but then not bother to include a port, or even just a cable like this when they so cheap to buy and easy to fit.
Will this work the same for a Renault Clio 04 model? Any one know?
Not sure. Best bet is to remove the stereo and see if it has the plug, also check to see if you can access 'Aux' mode with front panel controls - this will be in the manual.
pescado99 thanks for the quick reply, the plug is in there and I have found an adapter that fits but I can't find an AUX mode on the controls, perhaps this doesn't appear until an AUX cable is connected to the stero?!
No, has nothing to do with the plug being connected - it's a function in the stereo. In certain models, it was a high spec of radio, so if yours doesn't have it, then you might be stuck...
pescado99 Fair enough, cheers man
Nowadays smartphone dont have a aux out
True, most don't have a separate headphone jack - but all phones can accept a USB-C to headphone or Lightning to headphone adapter. Bingo, you have your 'aux out'.
should have fed it down through the odb port. would be much neater.
Not a bad idea. I might have a look at that option. Thanks
does not work on android phones have not sound??
Sure does. My phone is android.
hhh it has rca plug put rca to aux and it will work
Good video, just a shame about your shocking music selection lol 😂
Aux bluetooth for aliexpres 10 €
Nice video, but for 20€ you have a new radio from amazon with usb input and no need to waste battery of the mobile + better music quality
Sure, but what about CAN-bus connection to the remote LCD display?
