Me: "What was it," you ask me? It was the insight... the insight that you've sacrificed yourself and suffered for so very, very long for the sake of everyone else... But I can take it, Old Hunter. I am still young compared to you. My heart and mind are unburdened compared to yours. And when the time comes and I, too, am driven to despair by this horrible, wonderful dream, I will look for a successor to take my place... But for now, I know we must dance. Because I know that even though you long for release, and even though I am willing to sacrifice myself for your sake, you cannot allow me to take your place and suffer your torment... So come, Old Hunter. I invite you to dance this last waltz with me... and then, sleep... sleep, unburdened by dreams and nightmares... free of torments, free of sins, free of sufferings, free of cretins, free of sorrows, and free of tomorrows, free like the sparrows, leaving their shadows.
*+Mλtheus S* Not really, no. I've got a lot of stories in my head that wanna be told, but I don't particularily like writing them down (for the most part I end up sharing them with my friends when we play D&D)... I just cannot dedicate myself to writing a particular story or something like that for longer than a couple of hours. Believe me, I've tried. Heck, I'm kinda, sorta currently trying again; I've started writing a story based upon "Snow White and Rose Red," "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves," "Red Riding Hood," "Sleeping Beauty," "Beauty and The Beast" and "Rumpelstiltskin," but I've not really gotten anywhere on paper, even though the story is pretty far along in my head... For example, Snow White isn't the "fairest in the land" in the sense that she's the prettiest woman, but rather in that she strongly believes in being just and treating people fairly (the Magic Mirror twisted the words and exploited the Queen's vanity and envy in order to drive her mad). The Seven Dwarves help Snow White get over the bad experience with dwarves that Rumpelstiltskin left her with, mainly by being the ones who save her life when the Queen sends Carabosse (the wicked fairy godmother/witch) to kill her with curses. However, Snow White's raven-black hair turns white from a curse put by Carabosse upon her comb, her rosy cheeks turn pale and pallid due to a cursed corset, and her blood-red lips lose their colour to the traditional cursed apple, turning her into a literally snow-white woman. In order to protect both herself and her sister, Rose Red, she becomes an assassin set on killing the Evil Queen under the cover of winter's white snow. Meanwhile, Rose Red becomes a Riding Hood-donning werewolf hunter after one of them murders the sisters' grandmother; at first she flees to a woodcutter's cottage for cover, but when the werewolf tracks her there and kills the woodcutter, too, she picks up his mightiest axe and sets out to hunt down the beasts once and for all... Oh yeah, also, the huntsman from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves? The one who, in the original story, was ordered by the Queen to bring Snow White's heart back to her? He's one of the werewolves... And the huntsman from the Grim Brother's version of Red Riding Hood? He was the werewolf who killed their grandma... and the "Beauty and The Beast" version of Gaston? He's a werewolf, too... (The Beast is, of course, also a kind of werebeast, and he is there to provide character development for Rose Red who grows increasingly unhinged in her hunt for the werewolves... In other words, the character development that is normally reserved for The Beast is transferred to Rose Red, instead...) Sssooo yeah, basically, if there's a "huntsman" in a story, they're a werewolf in my story... But, like I said, I'm not really getting anywhere as far as putting that story down on paper goes.
God. I heard that dialoge by accident a few days ago. Had tears in my eyes while listening to it - it was kinda heartbreaking. In my opinion truly great voice acting.

the chorus literally has me tear up a bit every time, just the fact that in game this is not a fight for good or evil, nor for profit, but for sacrifice. You are the last hunter of the dream, and he is the first hunter of all, hosting for this endless dream. After you complete your mission he wishes to speak to you and spare you of his fate, however you want to set him free as well. The only way to free each other is for one to kill the other, and the survivor will become the host of this terrible dream and the loser is returned to the waking world, to feel the sun once more. This is a fight to save the other, and you can hear it. Every bit of this song oozes with its meaning and shows you how much they wish to be freed yet they wish not to doom the other. Neither of them want this fight, but it must be done. The night and the dream were long.

Bloodborne 2 confirmed? First I find bb orchestrated in my youtube feed. Then, I scrape my knee and what comes out? Blood! Its not a coincidence anymore
I love the fact the entire crowd is completely silent enjoying such a masterpiece of a song from a goddamn video game made by possibly one of the most respected game developers in the world Thank you From soft
"Tonight, Gehrman joins the hunt" This song is such a tearjerker. When I first played the game I heard that rare dialogue he gives while sleeping, when he cries and pleads for the dream to end. The knowledge, that by killing him, you end up freeing this poor, tired old man and with that song in the background just killed me.
There are no hero’s in Bloodborne. The player character ripped apart and drank the blood of half the city Laurence was sucked into a burning eternal hell with half his skull missing in the monstrous form he brought upon himself Gherman was stuck in an endless nightmare for his part in the defilement of the hamlet and Kos, holding on to the hope the friend who damned him would keep his promise with only a mocking toy as his companion. Maria hadn’t the strength or heart to endure like her love struck master, choosing to end her suffering not knowing her regret would only bind her to the nightmare, forced into an intersection between the villagers she defiled and the patients she could never save with only the weapon she loathed as company. Ludwig followed the light that was always illuminating his way forward, never once second guessing his purpose till he was far too gone in bloodlust to escape his hell. Nothing but a twisted monstrosity of what was once called noble. Eileen succumbed to the hunt, being consumed by her prey or turning into it only to be torn apart by the player character. Djura was too weak to protect anyone, even the people he had already once failed Henryk and Gascoigne failed themselves and everyone around them Willem was so focused on eyes on the inside he forgot to keep an eye on the people he was charged with, blind to how quickly everything crumbled. Pathetic. And Kos wept for her dead and mutilated child as her curse took hold of Yharnam, damning all responsible and every child they bore, and the next and the next… while she desperately searched for a surrogate to replace her own. The Moon Presence was simply a manifestation of this wrath, Kos with her womb ripped out exacting her revenge through the very hunters responsible for the tragedy. In the end Bloodborne never had a Hero but it did see the reunion of a god and her newly found baby. It took an ocean of blood, centuries filled with old sad men walking the path of good intentions but all meeting the same fate and a child lashing out against its mother to end an era of wrath. If only till the next Paleblood Moon rises and the gods descend.
@@winterTripic Nowhere in the game stated that Eileen was "consumed" by her prey nor did the player character kill her. She was simply too old and way past her prime to defeat the bloody crow. By far, she's the most sane individual in that damned city.
@@shem7146 So if you never interact with Eileen until after you’ve gotten to Yhargul she will attack you where you’re supposed to fight the Bloody Crow, replacing him. Her dialogue implies she’s gone blood drunk and you kill her.
No matter how many times I replay, I can't let Gehrman remain in the dream. When 3:45 hits, it always makes me think of what Simon says in the old hunters. "So our forefathers sinned? We hunters cannot bear their weight forever... its not fair. It just isn't fair."
I love bloodborne. Everything about the lore, the characters, weapons, the world, but especially the songs. Every monster has their own atmosphere, whether it's something like fighting a ferocious monster, to someone who could or should have been saved, but death only be their mercy.
3:42 - There is something seriously awe inspiring about the way the conductor controls the onset of that lone drumbeat and the sudden wave of chanting by the choir which comes washing over the listener in its wake. Truly an epic moment, during an incredible performance of an outstanding musical score; a score which is but one element of a game the whole of which, to me at least, deserves to be labelled a masterpiece.
"Dear oh dear, what was it? The hunt? The blood? Or the terrible dream?" From Software talking directly to the player, asking him the reason he got blood-drunken in the end.Chills down my spine every time.
It makes me incredibly happy to see professional musicians acknowledge video game music as more than just a commodity. I feel like a lot of people separate video game music from other scores in way that implies it is inferior. Sometimes the world is pretty cool.
"What was it," you ask me? It was neither the Hunt, nor the Blood, nor the Dream. I invite you to dance this last waltz with me... and then, sleep... sleep, unburdened by dreams and nightmares... free of torments, free of sins, free of sufferings, free of cretins, free of sorrows, and free of tomorrows, free like the sparrows, leaving their shadows...
"What was it, that made me refuse your offer? 'Twas not the Nightmare, nor the blood. But the hope, the hope that we might see the rising of the sun, once more. All of us, together, free. But if I must stay behind to send you into the rising dawn, then so be it."
A fervent wish made in haste nothing more nothing less. But those fleeting moments , that quickening of the heart...is more than enough. More than any hunt...to watch the sun awash on the faces of those who have "slept", those who've "survived" and those who were "Found". The Nightmare is over...and with it, the long awaited sanctuary you have been begging for. Awaken , Gehrman....even if I MUST SLEEP IN YOUR STEAD! Even if I must become that which is a Greater One than the hunt that's been promised....but I will not die and awaken myself selfishly....for there are those who slumber...and they deserve to awaken in a land free of a nightmare. And so the Hunter's nightmare.....shall become the Hunter's Dream.
i still wish they did a proper orchestra tour with all the bloodborne soundtracks. its probably the most intense, most unique and most authentic collection of music pieces ive ever heard.
It's nuts how good this game is in every aspect imaginable, truly a masterpiece. Thank You Miyazaki-San for this gem and the rest of your iconic games that brought my love for video games back.
One of the greatest things about the soulsborne series is it's ability to tell emotional stories and convey complex feelings without using dialogue(most of the time) or long cutscenes. Like this and Gwyn's theme tell so much about their stories and their feelings you don't need words.
This piece is… indescribable. It’s able to convey both renewed life and ageless suffering, heroism and defeat, pure elation and unparalleled anguish so, so beautifully. I’m on the verge of tears every time I hear it, and I only get more and more emotional the more I listen. No music in gaming has ever had this effect on me, aside from Ludwig’s OST.
my parents had the audacity to say this song was terrible, “just a bunch of tones” they said, I guess since they didn’t know the conflict they couldn’t give a viable response
It will never cease to amaze me just how different people and their tastes can be. To call this a bunch of tones is like providing the ultimate proof that every person lives in their own world. If this is a bunch of tones, then what isn't? Let me know what your parents think of Maria's theme, if you please.
I showed this to my mom and she said it was beautiful and sad. And then she asked where is it from, I told her that it was from a GAME called Bloodborne. She didn't believe me so I showed her prove. Safe to say that her perception of game change that day.
Luego vinieron Sekiro, Dark Souls 3 y Elden Ring. Pero este juego algo tiene... realmente es diferente. Tiene otra atmosfera, otra alma, en muchos aspectos es mejor, en otros es distinto. Es único, y realmente muy dificil que puedan repetir tamaña obra de arte.
I can’t express many when I hear this music and the others but especially this only tears and heartbeat, this BLOODBORNE is a wonder I will play it as long as I have the strength to play it and I will remember it as long as I have life, I don’t define it as a game but a real art, compliments to all of them and a great respect ❤
The Conductor is so mesmerizing to watch. I miss playing in orchestra. I played the viola from middle school to high school. It was the best experience.
The player has earned his right and privilege to witness such majesty. BB is a hard game that many people will have never finished, despite how popular it is at this point. Those lucky few who kept at it long enough to face Gehrman deserve the best he can give, as terrible as it may be. A deeply beautiful and tragic spectacle
The harrowing song of Gherman, The First Hunter. The first to take up arms against the beastial scourge, the keeper of the dream. Though he is an antagonist, in reality, he only wishes to spare you the fate that befell him and other hunters despite longing for death. Dear Master, close your eyes and accept this gift… your suffering ends here.
That game, is a masterpiece deep an meaningful as cismos with no obvious answers where things truly starts and where they ends. Musical part is so true to the game and makes Bloodborne a whole complete body.
Under the red moon.. Two man fighting against each other... Not for hate, not for punishment ,but for saving each other from this infinite cursed dream. They both know the winner will lose everything and Only loser can be saved. But still no one wanted stop fighting.

I love the fact the entire crowd is completely silent enjoying such a masterpiece of a song from a goddamn video game made by possibly one of the most respected game developers in the world
Thank you From soft
Man even with this crappy cellphone mic, this sounds so great. Im in awe. Cant even imagine how it would have been like listinging live
"Tonight, Gehrman joins the hunt"
This song is such a tearjerker.
When I first played the game I heard that rare dialogue he gives while sleeping, when he cries and pleads for the dream to end.
The knowledge, that by killing him, you end up freeing this poor, tired old man and with that song in the background just killed me.
Gehrman was the true hero of the game, very somber and melancholy, bloodborne is Miyazaki’s magnum opus
Brother, get to the fishing hamlet, he's no hero
There are no hero’s in Bloodborne.
The player character ripped apart and drank the blood of half the city
Laurence was sucked into a burning eternal hell with half his skull missing in the monstrous form he brought upon himself
Gherman was stuck in an endless nightmare for his part in the defilement of the hamlet and Kos, holding on to the hope the friend who damned him would keep his promise with only a mocking toy as his companion.
Djura was too weak to protect anyone, even the people he had already once failed
Henryk and Gascoigne failed themselves and everyone around them
Willem was so focused on eyes on the inside he forgot to keep an eye on the people he was charged with, blind to how quickly everything crumbled.
@@winterTripic Hah. I have like 9000 hours in this game and never knew this.

Truly an epic moment, during an incredible performance of an outstanding musical score; a score which is but one element of a game the whole of which, to me at least, deserves to be labelled a masterpiece.
are most of us here because we got recommended this?
and started to wonder why we just got recommended this video? love this game.
I imagine I got reccomended it because I recently listened to some of the sound track.

It makes me incredibly happy to see professional musicians acknowledge video game music as more than just a commodity. I feel like a lot of people separate video game music from other scores in way that implies it is inferior.
Sometimes the world is pretty cool.
Man Mozart been real quiet since Fromsoft dropped this banger
"What was it," you ask me? It was neither the Hunt, nor the Blood, nor the Dream. I invite you to dance this last waltz with me... and then, sleep... sleep, unburdened by dreams and nightmares... free of torments, free of sins, free of sufferings, free of cretins, free of sorrows, and free of tomorrows, free like the sparrows, leaving their shadows...
Oh dead oh dear...that was awesome! Nice one
You sir need to write a story. That was beautiful.

How dare you make me cry
Incredibly beautiful!
I cant even describe the absolutely ecstatic feeling I get when those violins start playing the melody at 1:54 its just beautiful man
"What was it, that made me refuse your offer?
I would've cried in that audience man.
i still wish they did a proper orchestra tour with all the bloodborne soundtracks. its probably the most intense, most unique and most authentic collection of music pieces ive ever heard.
the amount of money i would pay to go to a concert where it's a compilation of the best music from the souls series is insane
The cello coming in at 0:53 is orgasmic. Love this melancholic caress of strings.
I never played bloodborne, but i listen the ost every day
We were granted such a game only because the Great Ones are sympathetic in spirit. Otherwise we hardly deserve such a masterpiece...
Best soundtrack for any game I've played, by far.
It's nuts how good this game is in every aspect imaginable, truly a masterpiece. Thank You Miyazaki-San for this gem and the rest of your iconic games that brought my love for video games back.
Tonight, gerhman joins the hunt...

This orchestra was so well arranged. They perfectly captured the harmony of the original track.
Everybody gangsta until an old man in wheel chair between the crowd stands up and says "Tonight, Gehrman joins the hunt".
3:45 is absolutely breathtaking
One of the greatest things about the soulsborne series is it's ability to tell emotional stories and convey complex feelings without using dialogue(most of the time) or long cutscenes. Like this and Gwyn's theme tell so much about their stories and their feelings you don't need words.
and they say "video game is not art" fools doom to be bound in the dream for eternity.

This game and this soundtrack is timeless
This piece is… indescribable. It’s able to convey both renewed life and ageless suffering, heroism and defeat, pure elation and unparalleled anguish so, so beautifully. I’m on the verge of tears every time I hear it, and I only get more and more emotional the more I listen. No music in gaming has ever had this effect on me, aside from Ludwig’s OST.
Every time I hear this song I start crying. Its so hauntingly beautiful
my parents had the audacity to say this song was terrible, “just a bunch of tones” they said, I guess since they didn’t know the conflict they couldn’t give a viable response
I feel you. I think they simply listen to it with the thought, it's from a video game as it plays. To ignorant to actually give a true listen.
It will never cease to amaze me just how different people and their tastes can be. To call this a bunch of tones is like providing the ultimate proof that every person lives in their own world. If this is a bunch of tones, then what isn't?
Let me know what your parents think of Maria's theme, if you please.
@@aydenrozzelle7691 doesn't it sound a little _too_ sublime for common prejudice to overshadow its power?

I can’t express many when I hear this music and the others but especially this only tears and heartbeat, this BLOODBORNE is a wonder I will play it as long as I have the strength to play it and I will remember it as long as I have life, I don’t define it as a game but a real art, compliments to all of them and a great respect ❤
The Conductor is so mesmerizing to
watch.
