  • Hi all
    I have recently added this beautiful Wedgewood Cuckoo set to my collection and I thought like tradition I would share my experience with you. These are the first Wedgewood pieces I have collected and I must say they are very charming.
    Tell me what you think below and maybe I will do another dedicated video using this set.

    This is a very detailed explanation of the beautiful designs, I love the shape of the teapot.

    Wow this one is so subtle and elegant, I remember learning about cuckoo birds in school and thinking how could a mother possible be so cruel but then again that's how nature is! Lovely video!

      Isnt that so true! I was gobsmacked! And I definitely had to remind myself that they are wild birds. Its funny how some nature animals can be more nurturing than others. Thankyou

    We have very similar taste. Couple months ago I picked lots of Royal Albert Miranda Kerr items, because I like flowers /butterflies design, I also got Royal Albert Candy collection because it's so whimsical, and one Rose Confetti set. And recently I picked Wedgewood Bloom items. And I like Bloom more I think... I can combine all Royal Albert items together , they all go. But Wedgewood has more antique feel to it... Maybe I'll get cuckoo set later on too, to combine with bloom one...

      Hey Marina, lovely story on your collection journey. Miranda is a very youthful set full of life and feminine. I was contemplating on it also but the rose confetti won my heart. I hope you enjoy them all they bring so much joy.
      I agree they dont mix the best together but royal albert all kind of connect really well.
      P.s Im getting the bloom set very shortly 🙏🤫

      @@nikitaamerie and I felt bad for getting so many sets 🤣 now I feel better, I'm not the only one! I got a beautiful teapot for one as well from bloom collection - it's a teapot and a cup in one, I think it's the most beautiful peice in the whole collection... I have to add peice by peice as I buy them only when there is a discount and when they are in stock... I buy from Wedgewood site or Amazon... Amazon sometimes has much better price

    lovely video. would you say this collection goes well with the butterfly bloom collection or not. I want to get a few more teacups to add to my butterfly bloom collection so i have 6-8 cups but unsure whether to get more of the same or add in some cuckoo ones too?

    • @nikitaamerie
      @nikitaamerie  9 месяцев назад

      Hi there! I am a fan of complete sets and butterfly bloom is a wonderful collection. I think that depends how fussy you are with colours and sizing. The butterfly bloom is fresh and summery and this collection is very faintly and feminine. If you get a few of this collection it should not matter but if it’s not equal parts it may bother you looking like the odd ones out. Sorry hope that made sense.

      @@nikitaamerie yes that makes sense I hadn't thought of that? I have 3 of the bloom teacups in yellow, green and orange blue. I didn't particularly like the design of the blue and red one, it just didn't speak to me. So I think I'll just double up on the ones that I have as I really love the colour combinations. Thank you for your help

    Btw, Wedgewood bought Royal Albert couple years ago... lot of RA items are produced in China now, and they feel a bit more chunky then Wedgewood... I'd say wedgewood feels more unique and authentic and superior... It's a way older fine china manufacturer as well

    • @nikitaamerie
      @nikitaamerie  3 года назад +1

      Oh yes hat great intormation you have! Something I noticed however with the cake stand the gold sticks were not as nice of a tone as the royal albert cake stand. Which was a shame because the guilding on the set is so lovely. To me I find it easier to use the cuckoo for daily use!

    • @marish_berry
      @marish_berry 3 года назад

      @@nikitaamerie cuckoo looks more settled and subtle when royal albert... It's perfect for ever day. I cannot shake a feeling that Royal Alberts makes peices that target American /Asian market... They are somehow less British... Maybe it's those bright colors...

      @@nikitaamerie I also really like Wild Strawberry collection. That is the perfect everyday collection for me! I can see myself using those cups every single night when I have tea... But I cannot buy everything 😔 but it's on my list

      @@marish_berry oh wild strawberry is on my bucket list! But definitely not now! Its such a classic and you can find many preloved items on ebay from decades ago and they all look very similar they would match perfectly on a table setting.

      It is quite sad that most of the fine china manufacturing as been moved elsewhere. I love the new designs but cannot get myself to purchase anything new simply because I believe the new pieces are lacking in quality.

    Makes me wish I still had my china cabinet. I love serving tea, too. My grandmother did so daily, though very informally. Yea with cake or small sandwiches is comfort food for me.

    Is Wedgwood better than royal Albert?

    • @nikitaamerie
      @nikitaamerie  3 года назад +1

      Great question, Royal Albert has more traditional English designs in my opinion and Wedgwood has lots of china inspiration and the structures are both different for their china. Both are excellent quality and value for your money. I just follow where my heart falls for the design. If I love it, I want to keep it. :)
