You are very welcome Jacqueline! I appreciate the question. To join two points, you can choose 1 of 3 options: 1) right mouse click and choose join, 2) Press CTRL or CMND-J, or 3) go to Object > Path > Join from the menu across the top. For any of these, you need to make sure the point are selected first. I used CMND-J in the video, but I regularly right mouse click, too, if I'm using a mouse, not the trackpad.

I haven't found the ''fringe brush''' in my AI, from where i can find it ?
