There’s always one young kid who is wary of the foreign man. Remember my niece being in total fear of me, then she became my little shadow. Always found people around the villages very welcoming. Friendly, fun, happy people.

You both together interactive doing this vlog together sure did make me smile. Your love for each other sure does show. My husband of 30 years passed a little over 1 month ago and I sure do miss my best friend.❤😊
I'm 82. When I wake up each morning (and after each nap), I marvel, "Oh, another day." And I smile at the discovery. I prefer to believe that the last time I will wake up, I will be able to pass through the "Pearly Gates" of Heaven. Then, I will be able to spent my moments in my God's Heaven, and also being able to be there in Heaven AND on Earth at the same time with my loved ones in both places. I know it sounds a bit childish, but now I like to think that my loved ones, who have already passed into Heaven, are with me here now and are with me each day. It's a very warm and peaceful feeling.
Wow ! Thank you for sharing this translation machine !!! I am going to purchase it and post my feedback. It’s great you do a test for us first to see if accurate. Thank you kindly Ryan & Damo for the discount code
nice, simple clip.. then sure.. thai people are super nice.. whenever on holiday, take with me the smile.. ❤ language can be a problem so.. will check out the small machine
Damo and Ryan, thanks for this lovely glimpse of the villagers near to your home. This is so typical of the villagers here in rural Thailand. Where my father-in-law lives in a small village near Chum Phae, they are all farmers and their daily round is always the same, but for the most part they are happy and live long unless the Lao Kao kills them first. Possessions aren't everything and although we westerners aspire towards riches, they are meaningless when it comes down to it. Provided we have enough to eat and look after our family, what more do we need apart from the vital ingredient of love and community. God bless you all😀❤🙏
I liked the device. I looked up its 149$ , the newer version more pricey.. definitely I'm buying one for the next trip to Thailand.. all the best to you and the family.
Enjoyed the video, Damo does a great job on camera! I remember how shy she use to be. I wonder if we have a watering hole like that first time ive seen that!
Happiest guy I have seen as well! Yes Thais have a lot less baggage and worries than us farangs I think. Thais will laugh and dance or just sit back and watch nature . That little girl really doesn't want you around! Stay away from our store white man with a camera! 555 Fun vlog, always appreciate when you and Damo are together.... Peace and Love
They often carry many burdens, including care for the farm, children, and elderly parents. Many are in debt after the pandemic. I think they try to stay positive and not let it destroy the day.
Very cool video. I think that I will pick one of those translators up (using your coupon code of course). My wife and daughter are talking about going to Japan and Korea next year. This would be very handy for them. Keep up the great work!

I'm impressed with the accuracy of the translation. It would be great if it worked for the Lao Issan dialect and the Upper Khmer dialect (often known as Khmer Surin) as well as other minority dialects too. Khmer Surin and standard Khmer are sort of mutually intelligible but they are quite different in terms of sentence construction and vocabulary. What a fantastic language learning tool too !
Hey Ryan and Damo, I come from an area in California that is mainly farming. I have been in Thailand for 18 years now and often wondered why Thai farmers have such small fields. I think I have finally figured it out. The farmers in Thailand have had to do all the work by hand so there was no way they could farm more than a few rai of land. Now that they have equipment to help them, they don't have to work so hard. They have more time to be happy. ❤😂❤
94 is great in anybody's time. Excellent to see the elders of any country, they have many stories. I have travelled a little and like to hear their tales. 👍😇❤️

Hi Ryan, I just went the website to buy one and it says that conversion to Thai you can only do it with WiFi which defeats the reason I wanted one. Really upset 😟
Hey David, yeah I think thats why they add the 1 year global data card which can be used anywhere so you are always connected, i cannot vouch for everywhere but here in Rural Buriram it world fine for us, there is a few subscribers that already bought in this comments section so maybe you could shoot them some questions, cheers!
I’ve had that reaction from women all my life , seems I’m a farrang even here in the UK , good video nice to see around your local area. Song = Paradise = Coldplay.
Love your channel. Always really interesting. You might like to know that the plant you were given, It’s not a tree of paradise - it’s called Lobster claws - because the flowers look like lobster claws! The Latin name is Heliconia. Bird of Paradise is Strelitzia - and the flowers look like birds of paradise. 👍🏻 Similar…or same same, but different! 🌸
Probably the best vlog you two have made so far. For us, institutionalised Westerners, we have been taught that success and happiness are defined by the amount of material belongings we own. As farang we are curious how simple villagers can possess so much inner peace and happiness with so little. In fact, it's becoming trendy to adapt to a " Minimalism " lifestyle for Westerners as a way of coping with a money hungry complex world.
i brought a fluentalk before coming out to Thailand this month. it has worked reasonably well, although i have had it fail in a very rural area where it could not connect.
@@lifeinruralthailand a quick update: I have now used it to teach my youngest nephew chess, although it struggled with knight (It kept putting the English word 'night') , used it at the barbers and quite a good chat with him. Today, my wife arranged for an ambulance charity to turn up at ou home to accept a donation, so again, it came in handy, although a couple of mis translations did get some big laughs, all in all, a useful tool to carry with you.
You two are a lovely couple! My wife is Thai-American, was born and spent her early childhood in Thailand but grew up in the U.S. I believe she retained her Thai citizenship when she became a naturalized U.S. Citizen. Now the children are almost grown I am trying to convince her to move abroad for a time. We have both lived abroad before (England, Channel Isles, Japan). Do you know if it would be relatively easy for us to move to Thailand due to my wife’s citizenship? Obviously I need to learn Thai. 😂 I have a brother who has lived a very similar lifestyle as you and your wife for 20 years in the rural Philippines and has been very happy.
If your Wife is a Thai Citizen you can get there on a Thai Marriage Visa. You will need your Western Marriage Certificate translated to Thai and quite a few other Requirements. But Thai Nationality doesn't expire and Dual Citizenship is allowed by the Kingdom of Thailand. Do some quick Google serches and you'll have all the info you need sir.
Can you tell me how you are able to use it in the village if it was offline ? If ordered one using the code as it’s going to help me as a learning tool prior to arriving. Thanks Gordon
Great video, I’m certainly the foreigner in the village when I visit needs a translator. The makers of this device would be good if they just had a app which could simply go on a smart phone. It would save walking around with two clunky devices. I might give it a try anyway.
