Most people who adore the 996 generation are because it is just the one they can afford. Even Porsche has admitted they are not particularly proud of that model. There's a reason they quit fried eggs 15 years ago and have never been around since. 40 years anniversary model, lots of equipment for sure. If you put lipstick on a pig, it will still be a pig.
Congratulations on the new Porsche Sam. Stunning car. Unit is looking better, but I must say painting the white walls would have finished it off nicer. Are the black patches on the floor from tyres lifting the paint?

We bought a Mercedes c180 instead... thankfully she has now come on board the car obsession and has had everything from a Lotus Elise to her current C43 AMG... still mentioned this to her though as soon as I started watching this video haha
I’ve been looking at the 40th Anniversary 996 for sale for a few days online and then you bring out this video. Now I get why they’re special- love the paint!
Welcome to 996 ownership, my dad has the 2003 facelift 996 Carrera in matching spec to yours apart from the front bumper which he's had for 11 years now and has had a full engine rebuild at the beginning of the year. I remember speccing one of these on the Porsche website's "build your own" page, back when they were new. As a youngster, I "built" a lot of porsches this way lol. Great looking car. I specifically remember thinking how awesome it was that one could have the Turbo front end (my favourite), without the massive price tag.

As you know Sam, I am a regular and subscriber to your great cartube channel. But I feel like putting something back into the online car enthusiast community, and not be typically critical! I feel like throwing a big nugget in here to all cartubers, as I’ve not seen any of you run with it so far? Never in the History of the Automobile, in this Cov-19 Pandemic year, or never in my lifetime, I was born in 1965, has the Car become much more important to us all, other than just a means of transportation!!Many of us have been forced to live within the small boundaries of our houses and homes. Our cars are the PERFECT means with which we can all still safely go out and live somewhat during this time! With our Car’s inherent “safety cocoon”!! I am sure it has been more than just commuting, they are directly keeping us all sane, more healthy, contributing to our overall mental health and most importantly making us all feel more optimistic about our Post-Pandemic lives!!!! In my eyes, this has been the YEAR OF THE CAR!!!! I should mention this as well. I am sure many of us here know of the inevitability of a financial recession happening world wide now. And many, many large and small companies going broke. Many larger companies crying they’ve had the worst sales this year in their short histories, ie Car Manufacturers. BUT! I am sure I am not alone in noticing this right now! Who knows of a family member or friend, that has bought a new or even brand new car this year? For me, 2 neighbors have bought brand new cars, my niece bought a brand new SUV this year, and I have seen more trailers with old cars ontop than ever before in my street!!!! I have even added an old classic car to my Dream Garage Collection this year!! I personally think we are all buying MORE cars this year then I can remember…No matter what the media is telling us all about, with our inevitable recession, and no one having any money to spend. In short..It really is the YEAR OF THE CAR!!!! My 2 cents. I’ve put forward this year to our online car enthusiast community. And thank you, if you’ve read my longish comment this far and for the couple of minutes of your time!

Sam I’ve had a 40th Jahre for about 5 years now and I absolutely love the car.. I drive it every chance I get. I look forward to seeing more content on the car. There’s a group of 40th owners online you should join. Great community of people.
God damn it Sam, I’ve been looking at 996’s safe in the knowledge that I wouldn’t be getting one. You’re gonna make me change my mind.
996 fan here, that was quite unexpected, really nice choice ! Huge congrats Sam!
I find these sort of car purchases (and therefore car channels) so more more interesting than those who buy new stuff every five minues.
Love the mods to the studio! Keep up the progress & we're looking forward to a studio update.
Mate! So happy for you! Love a good 996, great content ahead Sam, as per usual.
Congrats, Sam! Well done. :) Keep us posted. Can't wait!
Absolutely love the look of this, the most modern looking 996 I've seen I reckon! Cracking car to have on the channel too, better than the other brand new Porsche options you spoke of hehe
Porsche 996 😍😍😍 i love your channel! More 90s and 00s cars please!!!
Had one for a couple of years, with luggage set(!), that engine with the power kit is immense, the induction noise is amazing. It's an incredible car.
GT Silver Metallic was also available in the even more rare and special to drive 2004 Porsche 911 996 Carrera 4S with X51 package. An even more limited number of these beautiful cars was produced. They are a blast to own and drive. Thanks for another great video. Congratulations on the excellent purchase.
So happy you bought an other Porsche, we all need a 911 in our life
I remember speccing one of these on the Porsche website's "build your own" page, back when they were new. As a youngster, I "built" a lot of porsches this way lol. Great looking car. I specifically remember thinking how awesome it was that one could have the Turbo front end (my favourite), without the massive price tag.
okay didn't see that coming. love that 40th version. well done sir. well done.
Loving the ' all interesting car collection' in the making. Big thumbs up. I always found kind of boring acquiring the last supercar every other RUclipsr or footballer have.
Peter McKinnon vibes in this video. Fantastic edit Sam!
@996revival is my IG and this hits me in the feels! I already watch and like your channel. To find that you chose this one is really exciting to me! I like the fact that you and TGE both have a 996. It’s a great community to be a part of!
i always lusted after 996's even though its kinda hated in the community there's something perfectly balanced between being an old school 911 and a modern 911 just ticked every box for me, congrats on the new car sam can't wait for more to come
That's kind of how I feel! So intrigued by what its going to be like to live with
As you know Sam, I am a regular and subscriber to your great cartube channel.
Very cool 996 Sam! I suggest you sort out the IMS if it hasn't been already. Enjoy! Can't wait to see more on this car!
