I ended it as early as May of 1942 by using CV-based sub-hunting groups as the UK. Using torpedo airstrikes against a periscope-depth sub is highly effective, as they are killed instantly and you can just place the aim right on top of the sub and drop the torpedo close enough so that it hits on the same turn. I sunk 320 of their warships by then, and the total size of the KMS navy in this game is around 400+. If the game didnt end I would've eradicated every single warship (including submarines) they have. CVs are also pretty powerful against BBs, capable of ending them in 2-3 good bomb runs.
My best run ended on April 1942. Another tip is to rush to the submarine until you're 2000 yards away and just launch the torpedo just at the u boat, it guarantees a kill but it is quite risky too
I have reduced the surface fleet of Nazi Germany to Tirpitz if it is built, the Karlsruhe, about 10-12 destroyers and an endless supply of subs. I am at the start of 1942 and I am not protecting my convoys more than a destroyer or 2 per space. Is that sufficient as the Germans are sinking 220k tons/month?
And I was lucky enough to sink all the german battleships before 1942, with that I was able to get 3 aircraft carriers which proved to be devastating effective at huntinh u boats

Just make sure to protect and escort them well, or else they're gonna get nuked by the enemy before they launch any planes
I pretty much erased the entire German surface fleet in the beginning of 42
why did i play the atlantic battle over and over and only win in 1942 why

I was able to maintain 210k per month and won on Aprip 1942
And I was lucky enough to sink all the german battleships before 1942, with that I was able to get 3 aircraft carriers which proved to be devastating effective at huntinh u boats
