I was surprised you didn't include Reggie Miller in here - one of the most famous cases.
He was born with hip deformities, which prevented him from walking correctly. After a few years of continuously wearing braces on both legs, his leg strength grew enough to compensate.
Dejuan blair played without an ACL if im not mistaken
You forgot about Mahmoud Abdur-Rauf, he had torrent's (SP) but had a flame thrower
Just a little surprised you didn’t mention Bertans and Green in the same number, or injury, since they had the same condition
I think Jeff Green? As I remember he has a heart condition.
Davis Bertans lost his finger too while he chopped woods with his grandad
Still plucking 3s
@@hihaterzitzme remember when Dennis Smith Jr nearly posterized the heck out of him?
And it's the same finger and he shoots well.
incredible how Gerald Green is one of the greatest dunkers of all time with 9 fingers
The four fingered assassin
I remember him being OP in 2k back in the day
@@EmpoDaddy99 Man was the single best silver in 2k13 MyTeam. He could shoot the lights out and dunk on everyone. I still kept him on my bench when I had a stacked lineup
remember those 2k14 days when he was on the suns and chris smoove played with the suns...... him and gerald was op...
9 and a half
I read somewhere that Patrick Ewing was willing to donate a kidney to Alonzo which was pretty cool considering that they were rivals on the court
Georgetown runs deeper than NBA
MJ would never!
He just wanted to take over his body from the inside
That's true I remember that
@@sl1ck557I don’t even like Mj like that but why should he ?
Nene had testicular tumor on 2008 and continued to played for many years later at high level
I don’t think a dick tumor really change your play
@@soulreaperxxi it’s not penis tumor it’s the testicles/ balls tumor
@@soulreaperxxi Dude literally had cancer
@@arthurhenriqueguimaraes4969 Yk cancer don’t always affect u right away u know that right or u just hear cancer and think omg death the tumor was benign and the cancer was isolated a quick surgery and he is fine it wasn’t killing him stop acting like he was dying he just got a tumor removed
@@s1kicks Ik what testicles are I’m saying that it didn’t even change his game it was benign it was killing him the Denver nuggets say the recovery rate is extremely high and the risk of getting it again is extremely low he wasn’t dying from it Bruno just acting like he was dying and beat it and lived on like nah g he just got surgery and at to be out for a while he was nowhere near death he beat cancer still thank god but the cancer he had wasn’t gonna kill him
T-Mac had scoliosis throughout his life & still became a superstar in his prime.
I have scoliosis too; it’s really tough and no joke. Props to T-Mac
And he has Walleye
Wow What is that
@@bensimmonsforr3 what is what
@@williamrithaler4051 curved spine
When was this script written? Aldridge literally was forced to retire because his condition worsened months ago.
was going to say the same thing
It's an old script. I don't remember if he posted the video before, or if some sections were from a different video, but I definitely remember watching this before.
dk if you know this but hes back but probably not gonna be that good anymore
he came back
Jesus loves you and may God bless you...
How about al horford? He suffering a phobia with the ball that coming to him.
😂😂😂😂
My brain cant process if this is a joke or nah
@@aldogrande675 I’ll get you banned from RUclips for laughing at his weak joke.
@@VictorFernandezBigdestroyer oh shit not you again
@@VictorFernandezBigdestroyer who are you
When I first saw the thumbnail I thought of someone like Randy Foye (situs inversus, basically all his internal organs are reversed), Jeff Green (heart problem), Brandon Roy (degenerative arthritis) or TJ Ford (paralysis from the waist down). I keep forgetting that Gerald Green is missing a finger.
Well you don't have it anymore lol
Davis Bertans is missing a finger too, and yet he's one of the best 3 point shooters in the NBA right now
Having all your organs is a condition but it has no impact on the person though
TJ Ford got injured tho? He doesnt have any disabilities
I did not know Steve Nash played his whole career AND won back-to-back MVPs with a back condition before seeing this video!
Won wat back to back he ain’t got no rings so
@@soulreaperxxi MVP
Shaq must’ve been fuming
Whaaaa thought it was well documented since he always laid down lol
@@soulreaperxxi There's more to the NBA than just rings.
Davis Bertans is missing his index finger on his shooting had too
You mean his ring finger right?
@@_Mojitoo whoops
Dejuan blair played without an ACL
Wow I never new about the Steve Nash thing, I knew he had back problems as he got older but I never knew he had a condition
Isaiah Austin played as an import on Gilas basketball team in the Philippines and he played very well
DeJaun Blair played with no ACLs in both knees.
Chris Bosh, Kevin Love, Bertans. There's tons in the league that have fought through stuff.
Brandon Roy I seen him play he would been perfect for today's game.. Amazing player...
He was a straight baller back in the day
I think Andy missed the elephant in the room with Magic Johnson having come back after contracting HIV. I'm pretty sure Pistol Pete Maravich had a heart condition the whole time he played but didn't know about it and died from it in a pick up game after retiring.
Davis Bertans also has 4 fingers, when he was young he accidentaly chopped his finger off with an axe
thank you for the consistency andy
Steve played 18 seasons. Much respect.
Gerald :/ you made it bro. Eff those bullies
Sean and zo :) :)
B roy-keep it pushing. Way to go
LA, glad you are here with us
Delonte-mental health is serious, thank you for trying to be open, and glad we discuss it
Dope video. I suffer from an auto immune illness that causes a lot of constant pain so learning about some of these disabilities that these players have is cool in a way to me
Good video! Nice to cover this topic
Jeff Green came back from heart surgery, that's hardcore.
I suffer from a rare condition stopped playing basketball in high school because of it love hearing stories like these
I never knew that about Gerald Green. He became one of the best shooters with only 4 fingers. Insane.
Sick videos Andy!
Not my favorite video but content from Andy is always a must watch!
Steve nash was always a joy to watch
It is really sad that the great pistol pete is not mentioned here. The man played without the left coronary artery which is one of the most important artery that gives blood to the heart. The guy could had a hearthattack every game but he continued playing and was great at it shame that he is not mentioned
Brandon Roy should easily make a “what-if” starting 5
We got that one arm hooper all over the internet right now, imagine if he had it even for a game.
Truly these are the real goats 🐐💯💯💯💯💯💯 but wow Gerald Green ? I’m really surprised , cause I have heard of that finger thing too but never saw it up close
Wow, surprised Adam Morrison wasn't on the list. Not the most prolific career but T1 Diabetes is no joke, not many people become pro athletes with that diagnosis.
Bust
Anyone remember Royce white and his fear of flying that derailed his career?
Gerald Green was the number 1 player in hs with no pinkie and started developing late and playing
No pinkie? It was his ring finger. Did you even watch the video?
If anyone actually plays in the nba with autism or adhd they’re the real goats
Does Javale McGee have adhd? I think I heard that from somewhere
@@EmpoDaddy99 he does I didn’t know that
@Kais Kajani not ADHD, but Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (Chris Jackson) had Tourette’s Syndrome, an issue that causes constant tics and obsessive behavior.
No Danny granger or pistol Pete? Pistol had a defective heart valve
Hard work!
Davis Bertans also misses his ring finger, but I don't know if it is on his shooting hand.
Hmm. LA did return briefly in the 2021-22 season before retiring for good in 2023.
Btw seeing that pic of Craig Sager interviewing Isaiah Austin is just cool. RIP Sags.
You probably wont see this but i love your videos everytime you post it makes my day better💪🏻🐐
Nash.. my favorite player of all time!
Shout out to Isaiah Austin and the rest of these amazing Ball Players who made a name for themselves thru the adversities
Chris Jackson/Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf played in the NBA with tourette syndrom.
Ten times NBA superstar players played their idols and got rocked
I always heard of Gerald Greens finger, but never actually looked at it that close haha.
in 1980 Louisville cardinals NC team Wiley Brown who started for UofL didn't have a thumb. He had a artificial thumb that got thrown in the trash early on during breakfast, and they went dumpster diving and found it just a few hours before the game
You forgot to mention Isaiah Austin was also blind in one eye. Hope the best for him.
Gerald Green was also a great dunker too!
Based on how andy hoops ended his discussion about aldridge, does he not know what happened a couple of months ago with aldridge? lol
Wow I never new about this
Yes
larry bird should have been here, he played with back issues almost half his playing career and was still winning mvps and rings
Roy's knees were also those of a true beast, only an aquatic one
feel bad for la man so close to that ring
Andy Hoops Notification Gang !!!!!!!
Brandoy roy’s playstyle kinda similar to derrick rose, amazing finishing ability, decent shooting and great athleticism sadly that we were not able to see these two amazing guards shine in the NBA
Crazy how Nash was able to play till 40.
And with a back condition on top of that.
Gerald Green and Davis Bertans are the two best players with 9 fingers and both incredible at their respective strengths one is a great dunker the other is a great shooter also I make videos as well
Chris Bosh ? :)
p.s. another osom vid !
And as a fellow Texan howdy andy
Isaiah Austin played for gilas pilipinas in jones cup and for mighty sports philippines
he always sitting and standing now Nash but he sits straight lol and wearing them tight pants stretching 😂
I'm surprised that you didn't include nor mentioned "Pistol" Pete Maravich who had a disability that he had one lung while playing his entire 10 years in his NBA Hall of Fame career. If you watched at the end of Sports Century: Pete Maravich, the show revealed that shortly after his sudden death at 40 that Maravich had one lung on his autopsy.
I thought it was his left aorta that was missing
@@awill901 something like that, but I heard it at the end of the episode mentioned that he had one lung.
I think this one needs a part 2 if you haven't done so already 😊
I read the title as “players who became atrocious diasabilites.” I was like, oh my god that’s so mean.
He said "Steve Nash" could've lasted a bit longer? Nash literally was on the Lakers' active roster when he was 40, granted he wasn't that good anymore but for the kind of issue he has, it's a miracle to play 18 seasons of top basketball.
Yeah
Here before Dame is taking his shot!!!
Was this recorded before Aldridge retired?
Yeah i was like is anyone gonna talk about that. I thought i the only one that caught that
Bertans from wizards also dont have finger on his shoting hand.
I would love to see how you bully a kid for missing a finger. "You can't even lace all of your fingers together!"
"Here's the church. Here's the steaple. Open the doors and there's only 7 ppl!*
what about tj ford didn't he have that back thing
Might need to do a part 2 because Eddie Curry was one of these guys.
The Shocker!
gerald green the best dunker ever only 9 fingers
Davis Bertans is also missing part of a finger on his shooting hand
Davis bertans is also missing a part of his finger due to a wood splitzing accident in his youth
Another W vid from the goat
One of these days we won’t see Andy next time😢
Yooo
Green reminds me of what a grown up Gerald from Hey Arnold would look like.
I wouldn't call these atrocious.. Just more of an uphill battle.. Kudos 2 all of them
You know your not supposed to shoot with every finger on your hand right just your middle and index or just middle so him loosing that finger could've helped him from a shooting aspect
Idk if those count for this video, but how are we not talking about Larry Bird and Bill Walton...? One with his back issues and the other with his cvs-receipt-long list of injuries
not having a ring finger on my shooting hand would help me. my shot comes off my ring finger sometimes and it could help if it wasn't there lol.
imagine seeing steve nash as a coach just laying on the floor
Brandon Roy was a man.
I mean, u didnt even mention that green is one of the best dunkers out there and a crazy vertical too. Come on andy.
I was today years old when I found out the cheesiest player in 2k13 has 9 fingers
2k14 too
Bro even 2k15. I be dropping 27 points and he’s like a 74 overall💀💀
I was today years old when I noticed that...
Nah the cheesiest on 2K13 is Ryan Anderson but the guy with 9 fingers is the cheesiest on 2K14 though because if you've watched Chris Smoove's NBA 2K14 My Career videos Chris Smoove was playing on the Suns and everytime Smoove passed the ball to Gerald Green for wide open catch and shoot three he just never missed a shot 💦
@@liamm6208 dude said Ryan Anderson 😂 no if u played with Gerald Green on not only 2k14 but 2k13 dude was cheeessyyyy, dunking on mfs, hitting the jumper if he open, he was basically a 2k13 version of 2k15 Zach LaVine
If im not mistaken Davis Bertans have one less finger as well
Yeap also on shooting hand
"Ain't nobody coming to see you Otis!"
I have a question about Aldridge's heart condition, he can still surgically replace his heart right?
I’m not sure if it’s worth the risk
Heart arrhythmia isn’t typically a life threatening issue and is actually relatively common amongst the population. I, for one, have heart arrhythmia. You don’t need a heart transplant because of it
Dude’s made at least 80 million dollars playing, I think he’s fine being retired and set for life
i feel bad for nash he could have been ever better rings as a player but i feel bad he a coach how he do it
Day 3 of asking: Andy, do a video on Mark Eaton. He died a few days ago and I think he deserves the praise, significance, and attention from someone like you
Dāvis Bertāns has a half finger
I get so disappointed when I don’t hear the jazz music playing in the beginning of your videos 😭
Hey andy does Otis actually give you the item or no just curious on that?
Its all virtual,
That shits not worth it
How do u not have a million subs one of the best basketball accounts next to jxmyhighroller imo
How about KD? I mean, he is basically spineless
Lmaoo
Damn
Wow so funny
