- In this video I demonstrate the new Roland Boutique TB -03 Bass Line.
The TB-03 is a re-creation of the original TB -303 with some added advantages that make it play well with modern studio environments including usb midi and audio.
The TB-03 represents great value for those of you wanting to re-create the classic sound of the TB -303 without the expense of purchasing the original.
In addition to the demonstration of the features and audio, I take you through the process of creating your own pattern using the step sequencer mode.

Apart from the se02. This is my favourite Boutique! 🎶🕶
I just picked up and Se02 myself. 💯love it too👍
Just ordered one to have for desktop fun with Korg Volca Beats. It really needs to be fed with overdrive, compression and distortion however.
Awesome, yeah that will make it sound even better! Enjoy!
@@Touchtechnologyreview I plan to see if I can use it with modular effects or my Elektron for fx processing to add overdrive and compression.
How does a product considered to be a failure (tb303) when it first hit the market that was also hard to program becomes a vintage sounding instrument for electro music in the 90s?
I think it was due to the very unique sounds that it produced and the way underground artists who picked them up for cheap on the second hand market were able to exploit the instrument to create signature sounds that no one had heard before.
@@Touchtechnologyreview It was made to be used with bass guitar players as a drummer when it failed but did not fail in house music !
Javier Bazalar Because it failed at what it was presenting. Innovation and success are not the same.
The 303 was predominantly used to create Acid House music and its heyday was from 87 to 89 and not the 90's!
1987 Phuture Acid Tracks is considered to be one of the first Acid Track
What output Jack are you using? Mine is too big to fit into that tiny jack.
The output jacks are only 3.5mm. If you have a mixer with larger 6.34mm ie 1/4 inch cable then you may need an adapter female 1/14 inch to 3.5mm male.
@@Touchtechnologyreview thanks bro! I just ordered on from Amazon, including 5 packs of batteries 🔋 because the batteries don’t even last a week. I wish they included a AC adapter to power it without batteries.
wasn't it 1981?
Most websites reporting on the original state a production run from 1982 - 1984. Other sites including Wikipedia say 1981. So perhaps it was announced in 1981 and full production made available in 1982.... Not really sure....
It’s a tricky one to find out. I always thought it was 82, but recently I saw an article on the Roland site stating 1981. Your theory sounds good though. great vid by the way.
Yeah isn't it. After your comment I checked it out and found that Roland Article too. Yet interesting that so many other say 1982....... Thanks for checking out the video and commenting. Cheers!
Brand new huh?
