One of my favorites. Always loved the main retail’s shade of blue, the claws being the shoulders, and how the beard goes to the bottom of the chest. I don’t really think the new one looks too great, it seems simple and similar to Titans Return Alpha Trion. The blue also isn’t as good. The one improvement I’m seeing is that the new one’s tail doesn’t start in the middle of the body.
I absolutely love the Prime Thundertron figure, and I am beyond ecstatic that at least from a glance the new Legacy one does not look like a Lio Convoy retool like I was expecting, but the new headsculpt feels like Thundertron got turned into a direct to video Disney villain from the 90s at best. I haven't seen a single picture of that headsculpt with any sense of menace whatsoever and it's a huge bummer.
I have the original thindertron and i think his robot mode looked so much better than the new one. All the personality is just gone without his iconic sholder spikes. The new ones bigcat mode is definitely better and will probably hold together better then the floppy old brick of a altmode he had.
So, I don't know this guy at all, but when I saw the legacy reveal, i thought he looked pretty sick, and decided I want him. Then you go and make this video, showing me this version, and he looks SOOO much sicker, like the delta coof sick, and the other is omuhgod varient. The claws on the shouldrs, are amazing, and so is the "waist coat" thing. That parrot is really cool too. I want this version now. Usually the new variants look better than the older ones, AND have articulation. In this case, I don't think the articulation is horrible, but the new one will obviously be better there, but the overall look, is not even close. This guy smokes the other. The only thing I'm not too fond of is the pirate hat. But again, I don't know the guy at all, so that could be quintassentially "dude's name I can't even memberberry" and have to be there. I dunno, but I love this mold.
G25 Black Lio Prime!!! How do you manage to get your hands on these rare finds??? (Side note: I'm from the PH, which is scalper/hoarder country) PPS - shipping from outside the country (like Buyee) is always a risk. The super professional folks at our customs love taking these items home on our behalf
While I'm not the hugest fan of the Prime era toys or Beastformers in general this is definitely one of the better molds the line put out. Well proportioned, not over engineered or flimsy, and some nice swords opposed to the dumb mechtech weapons most of the voyagers had. Legacy iteration looks fantastic, improved, and I like the Voyager price point. That and he's a pirate in bot mode with great color and head sculpt. Definitely a pick up in the new year. Looking forward to the reviews of Big Convoy, Magmatron. Great finds.
Between the second one we have in leaks, the alpha trion one, this, the mock ups ive seen of leobreaker, and now this. If HasTak is cool enough with the gen selects ill be buying a lot of Legacy Thundertron in the coming years.

What are your tips for browsing buyee. Can you do a video on that please? I seem to be sitting there for hours and never find the cool stuff you do. I have found the burning weaponizers and a clear animated bumblebee, but man do I can't that pink DVD starscream.
When purchasing from Buyee, never and I repeat never use the cheapest Shipping option (By SEA). Because I did that and No Joke it took just under 6 Months from Japan to the UK. I could of swam there and back faster.

They gave legacy thundertron a near perfect mirror of the source, yet they couldn’t give bulkhead the same, bulkhead so far being the only prime bot that’s not a (p)repaint. Just goes to show that Prime engineering was top of the game in its time and thundertron here is no exception!

The whole foot to robot-parrot fan mode is actually new to me. And it looks good, it really does!

Not to take anything from the current Hasbro team but the new thundertron is DIRECTLY based on concept art for the original
I think it’s actually the Nemesis recolor from 2003 that goes for around $200. Only ever seen Big Convoy go for around $100.
With the swords on his Lion mode side it reminds me pleasantly of Liger Zero Schneider.

Knowing that he's a space pirate, I'm suddenly interested in grabbing a Legacy Thundertron.

I have the original Thundertron and Alpha Trizer, but im definitely still getting the new one. Im just so glad Thundertron is getting another shot

Prefer the old one. More sleek, not blocky, and less friendly looking. The new one looks like Santa clause as a transformer.
I remember the lion head on my copy snapped off but I was able to glue back into place.

They basically gave us a G1 Bulkhead, which is nice. They might still give us a more Animated Bulkhead if the Animated Optimus does well.
