      Most people are responsible and put collars/treatment on their pets. The ones we see in the episodes are the owners who don't use preventative treatment or are unlucky enough that the ticks have stuck even with treatment. So in the episodes we see a tiny minority(probably also shown to raise awareness).

    Perhaps it's not a good area to have pets did they ever think of that ?

    • @kristinarobinson5277
      @kristinarobinson5277 2 года назад +2

      maybe the owner doesn't "let" him out, cats can be very sneaky, they also have young children so it is very possible that the cat get out, not that it is let out. my cats where not outdoor cats and i had my male cat fixed as soon as he was old enough to be neutered, yet he still would sneak out. i thought we took all desire to roam away by getting him neutered before he got those hormones thst cause cats to want to roam. so to be fair we don't know the situation

    That girl with the puppy is so annoying. She claims to love Nala but if she loved the pup, surely she would do anything to make sure Nala was going to be well, like staying at the vet where if something does get much worse there is immediate care. What if when she took Nala home that breathing does become a problem and she has to wait the travel time to the vets to get the treatment but ends up dying because it was too late? Sure, being parted with your pet for a night or two feels horrible, but being parted forever because the pet died is so much worse

I have one long haired tuxedo that recently had a lion's cut & a tick was found on him. (Plus 2 other tiny, tiny beige ones) Ricky only goes on my cement patio while I stay with him, so I don't know how he got them. I have ferals & homeless cats that I feed. I'm keeping the patio swept & all common areas clean. Thanks for such an enjoyable video!!!

    If you get a puppy, stop by the pharmacy and get a tube of triple antibiotic cream, and a box of Band-Aids. Not for the puppy, for your forearms and calves, as puppies have a way of tearing you to pieces.

    Couldn’t read the sign but I thought it was funny that there’s a poster of Uncle Sam in a vet office in Australia
    Jeez Olivia, get it together. You’ll miss him? He could die. Then you’ll definitely miss him. It’s not about you.

    I wonder if it would help to keep a cold-blooded patient like Harriet the bearded lizard cool during surgery? It would slow down her metabolism, presumably like anesthesia, and it wouldn't involve chemicals.

      Keeping them cool unfortunately does not negate the pain factor

    3 paralysis tick attacks in a year...wow, need to keep the cat indoors. Olivia not allowing her puppy to stay in hospital. I don't understand how she can't do what's best for her pet. I guess we need drama for good television but not the best for the pet.

    Anyway guess maybe I'd try to build like a caged inclosure so the cat could still look up at the stars but not run around in the brush with the ticks .. my grandparents lived on a farm in Idaho here thirty 38 miles from me and her cats were all living outside abd they all had flea and tick collars as well as her dogs that were indoor outdoor ..

    Please wait until a pupoy is at least 10 weeks old, 12 is better, before being taken from its mother. So many problems could be avoided.

    What I don’t understand stand is why do Toby’s owner keeps letting him go outside. Ticks don’t walk into a house because they live outside. If this happened to my can even once, my cat would stay indoors from then on.
    Australia has too many deadly insects, snakes and other things that can end your animals life. Better inside the house.
    Poor guy.
