      Never hit any living thing before but I assume the driver probably thought there was nothing they could do and they probably couldn’t avoid her. Driver probably tore themselves apart emotionally for weeks and thought it was over for the dog. That’s a big dog I doubt they would want to hit her if they could help it. Someone hit my first dog and he passed about 5 minutes later. They came back and all it did was make them feel horrible and they couldn’t have even done anything since it was a blind corner. For their sake I wish they could’ve kept going and forgot about him, poor people probably remember me crying and seeing poor Arthur hurt like that too this day, they were pretty affected.

    My dog was extremely lucky and was recently saved by great vets like this. He had swallowed a 6 1/2" wooden kebab skewer whole. It pierced his stomach and caused septic peritonitis (bacteria and fluid in the abdomen). The skewer didn't puncture any other organs or his esophagus. He's recovering really well right now and I'm so thankful to the vets 😭.

I put it in my pocket thinking I'd give it to the fox I had in rehab, but when I pulled it out of my pocket it was clearly coming back to life so I went into life saving mode instead. Both the ground squirrel and fox made full recoveries and were released back to their lives. Sometimes you just never know what these little critters are capable of overcoming just as there are times when you're sure of a full recovery that ends up going the other way despite trying everything that you can.

      His mom died when he was too young to be weaned and Mom bottle fed him and let him suckle on her neck or the loose skin in the crook of her arms. Our other cat thought he was a mouse, I think.
      He grew! Eventually he was a huge muscular 28 pound guard cat. But when Mama brought him his MDI, he did what she said, it was cute.

    We live in a rural town in the USA. We had two dogs. One was shot and the other poisoned by something. Our vets did everything in their power to save our lovely girl who was shot. A month later we brought our little boy in for a routine checkup and his second round of shots. We had a different veterinarian examine him that day and she noticed something was very wrong but she didn’t offer to give him any help. He passed away later that night. We woke up to find him in his crate cold and stiff. It was the most horrific thing I’ve been through because I had watched him grow and taken care of him from 7 weeks old to 8 months old. It was beyond ridiculous that she didn’t offer fluids or running blood tests to see if his toxicity levels were up. Where we live, everyone has a problem with anything with a pulse. It is ridiculous that someone could do either of those things to any body’s pets especially when they’re still a puppy or the friendliest pittbull lookalike you could meet. Our dog who was shot is doing super well now and her only damage is a low-caliber bullet lodged in her chest and some extra healing to go with her fractured rib and torn ligaments and muscles. When I went out to find her laying on the porch I thought the worst. It turned out to be best case scenario. I refuse to let her been seen by that veterinarian that saw our other dog. You just don’t do that in noticing something is off with a puppy and not offering your best no matter what’s happened that day.

    Poor Gwen, I understand the absolute shock of your cat falling from the balcony, mine has fallen thrice, from about a 20 meter height. once when he was about 3 months, 2nd time around 1.5 Years and third time just around 2.5 years. it's incredible the amount of fight my baby has. I was scared to death, it was horrible, when my parents told me to prepare my mind, my poor baby was in so much pain. the first time he fell on his feet, the second time he injured him jaw and mouth and the third time it was horribly severe he had a broken leg, a cut, a fracture. I did try doing my best All Of these times, but adults wouldn't take a 9 year old kid seriously when I told i couldnt find him when the 2nd and 3rd fall occurred. I kept persisting and did get screamed at for not preparing for a test that I had the next day, but did manage to save my cat by calling my dad who was downstairs, he found my cat below a car, covered in blood, rushed him to the vet but since no vet operated nearby on Sundays, kitty was in for some painful 6 hours till we took him as soon as the vet opened. he fell off from our balcony twice and the terrace above our floor the third time, i do feel guilty about letting him go unsupervised that day, but my mother was also extremely guilty about screaming at me to focus on studying rather than worry about the cat, so I couldn't be mad at her. The 2nd time he fell from the balcony, someone left the door open, and he sneaked in and sat on the middle platform on the lower floor between our two balconies, he had pulled this stunt once or twice before so we were keeping him inside till we got the balcony a netting, but Midnight, he went missing and was found 5 stories down with a broken mouth, still a quicker recovery. The first time was when I just got him and i wasnt at home, he jumped out of the balcony to go down and landed on his feet and just was scared and fine otherwise. We've fully catified our house and now, my beautiful 9 year old, is an amazing big furball, he loves to be inside now, and I'm never letting him get into any dangerous situation again.

    It's so beautiful to see dogs in other countries that don't have ear cropping. Living in the US, it is really rare to see a boxer with those beautiful ears. I love it. I wish cropping just didn't exist outside necessity for work. Those ears are so gorgeous.

      Cats basicly use their whole body as a parachute to survive big falls. They can still get hurt, but that's why they try to land on their feet. To catch some hair and kinda float their way down and making the impact less hard.

    • @toomanyopinions8353
      @toomanyopinions8353 Год назад +5

      There's obviously a top limit, but generally cats actually do BETTER with longer falls. It gives them time to turn around and ensure they land on their feet. A 2nd story balcony is pushing it- they have time to turn but not really to brace. Anything less than a 2nd story balcony and more than like 7 feet would be deadly.

    Possums in the US are definitely not as cute as Peter. When my son was 4 we were heading home from a Thanksgiving family dinner, it was very late & frozen. I drove past this tiny little ball in the middle of the road & something told me to turn around, I parked & walked over to find this tiny baby possum rolled up in a tight ball trying to stay warm & breathing really hard. I had a towel in the car so I ran to get it & cranked the heat on full blast. As soon as I had her back in the car in front of the heat she unwound from her tight ball, her breathing returned to normal & she fell asleep. Once we were home I started calling 24 hr rescues but because of the risk of rabies no rescues would take this little baby so my option was to try raising this baby that was the size of a mouse or finding her mom. They said she'd likely be close to where we found the baby so I took a couple pairs of my son's thick sweats that he'd outgrown, cut the legs off, slid one inside the other until it was 4 layers thick & rubber banded the end then slid the little baby inside the makeshift pouch before driving back to where we found her. I kept her in the car & went looking through the trees until I spotted mom running across the road & into a tree right where I had found the baby so I took the baby inside the pouch out of the car & set her in the grass below the tree before walking back to my car to wait & after just a few minutes I saw mom come down the tree & retrieve baby from the pouch. My son was very sad because of course he wanted to keep the baby but he was glad she was back with her mom.

    My baby got hit when she was 3, I was 9. It was a hit and run as well, she shouldn't have lived. She had a low chance of making it through the night and we couldn't afford surgery, her pelvis was shattered. After the night she still only had a 50% chance of surviving and no chance of walking again. My baby beat all odds and walked perfectly again 💜 we had her - a Doberman - until she was 12 years old! She was my life 💜💜💜

    so grateful for all emergency vets. Month after moving into our new house in February someone shot one of our cats. We didn't know she was shot. Vet found the bullet still lodged in her leg. ILeg was completely shattered like Lunas leg. The bullet traveled right to left past her lungs and over her heart and hit the top of her leg. So grateful for our vet took off that leg and gave Freya a second chance at life. Sadly unlike Luna Freya's leg had to much nerve damage to save. She had no feeling in her toes or lower part of her leg.
