This was probably the best K-Tel collection of them all. My dad has still has this on vinyl ( I was around 3 years old when it came out) and I wish I could find it on CD.
I was 9 years old when this came out. My older sister had it on an 8-track. I listened to it about a thousand times in my basement. Would love to be able to find it on vinyl.
1980,to be very exact.I started High School at the time this album was on the Market.I later bought me the Cassette Tape with my Allowance. It is now seeing better days.
I wonder if they released a U.K. & Australian version of this compilation. By the way Mr. Janu I enjoy listening to The Vinyl Voyage. Be sure to let your students in your history class know about these.
The first record I ever truly loved. I thought I remembered the Cheap Trick's version of "I Want You to Want Me" was the classic live version but someone said that it was the lame studio version. Any thoughts? Maybe different versions for different countries or something?
The American pressing featured a live version of "I Want You to Want Me." I have 2 different copies; they are not the studio version. You can listen to the vinyl version of this album on my show, Adventures in Vinyl. Here is the link. The song comes on at the 47:20 mark. I was 10 and my best friend's sister had this record and we would play it over and over in his bedroom and dance. We thought we were so cool!

It doesn't exist on CD! :D
@@owlcatzMost pre-mid 80's K-Tel albums didn't have CD issues.
@@ChristopherSobieniak Yes that was my point! 💯
I had this album.
First cassette I ever bought.

The ONLY time the Ramones ever appeared on a K-Tel LP...!
Still got it
K-tel tried wearing a skinny tie but its heart was in flares and jean jackets.
If it was In Tune With the 80s, it was a keeper.
This was the greatest 8 track ever made. try to change my mind on this. lol
I have this record!
I just bought this today at the Salvation Army for $1, it's the Canadian version with a completely different tracklisting though.
Had the record
I still have my copy. :-)
🤔 wondering at the outskirts of 2019 if this had the live or studio version of “I want you to want me” by Cheap Trick. Anyone???? Get back.
The live version.
Bruce David Janu thanks. Definitely have to find it on a vinyl.

This was the very beginning of the slide from the awesome 7os 😀❤️ to the 80s 🤢👎and its cold, synth overload, IMHO
I don't hear anything.
