    Thank you! I just got same brand unit installed. Appreciate your videos. Just want to add that if ordering on Amazon opt in for prime first. Totslly worth it to avoid shipping fee. One month prime less than 15.00, shipping was going to be over 170! It came to local freight, then semi with hydrolic drop gate delivered. Comes off truck on pallet, two boxes, very heavy. Takes two to lift. I backed my suv to load up, slid both boxes in and moved to save our backs. Unit has to be charged and numbers off both pieces to register for warranty. Pioneer customer service very helpful to find those cotton picking numbers. LoL oh, and unit does come with rubber pads on compressor to stabalize for vibration and a remote for control. Keep the videos coming! Yours covered a ton of info others didnt. :)

I'm only home 3 days a month but hopefully that will change soon. We have a fairly large TV and surround sound system, the fridge, mini split, water heater is gas and electric but only pulls 1500 watts when on electric which we only use the electric part of the water heater. Once we are around more and outta this semi truck most likely I'll need more panels than I already have for winter but with us only being there 3 days a month it's always completely charged when we get home and turn on the inverter.

      Thanks for watching Salvatore. You are correct for maximum performance you need to follow the manual. An RV however will probably never meet those requirements completely depending on the size of the unit. Question, in our house we have one outside unit with 3 inside units. Can you add another inside unit to your MH ? If your in WR be sure to go to the FMCA rally in Perry. Thanks for the info, I'll have to look into the FMCA rally. You can buy multi head compressors but you cannot add more heads to a compressor unless it was rated for that. So if you bought a 3 head unit and only installed 2 then yes you could add one more. However if you bought a 3 head and used 3 heads then you could not add another one. Good questions. The 120 volt units only come with one indoor head unit. So if you wanted to install a second head, say in the bedroom, I would suggest a 9,000 BTU 120 volt unit. The 12,000 BTU is just to large. But where to locate a second outdoor unit? I have seen the outdoor units mounted on the bumper and the rear van door of a couple of RV's.
      Grand Designs is installing a 240 volt 2 head unit in their new fifth wheels, and they are putting in two cassette units in the ceiling, so they look like the typical units you see in most RV's. The outdoor unit is located in the basement on the driver's side, with the air intake mounted in what looks like a baggage compartment door. The Grand Design fifth wheels use a 50 amp 240 volt service. Your RV, I am guessing has a 30 amp 120 volt service? If you have a 50 amp plug, then that is 240 volts. The problem is they can not run the 240 volt unit in a RV park with a 120 volt 30 amp service, unless they have a inverter that is large enough, and can run the battery charger on the 30 amp power source.

You can find this on our web site tigneradventures.com/amazon/#mini-split-air-conditionerheater

      @@ebrad68 If you have the space available it would help to have 2 units, less work than only having one to do the job. I didn't have the space. You would have to have a controller for each unit and they do show the current temp in that room. You would set it up to connect to each one separately over the Internet. They work pretty good and the company support is outstanding if you have an issue.

      I dont have an rv yet i am learning everything I possibly can before I do.
      The reason behind my thinnking to have 2 head units with 1 outside unit is to first, save space on back of rv, if there would even be enough space for 2 but mostly to save on electric use. I will be living full time in the rig and it looks like at campground most of that but there will be times I will be boondocking, but in subarban lots like walmart, home depot or wherever i can get a few nights in between my campground bookings. When doing so I will still need to use ac / heat to keep myself and cats comfortable. I want to do a solar panel system capable of this and 2 separate outside units would use double the electric.
      I want to be able to run the mini split as well as microwave, tv and a couple other things like router, wifi, etc all at same time as if I were in a house. I am still figuring out the needs but i am thinking 3000 watts of solar/battery power is where i need to be at.
      I realize I overstepped the context of this discussion but it all overlaps and one thing affects another....in this case its the power consumption.
      I am also thinking that with 2 head units it will be more efficient because one unit wont have to try and heat or cool the entire motorhome, especially if the layout isnt linear where the air could just be pushed directionally with a small fan.....
      Thanks again!

      @@ebrad68 No issues. A dual head unit doesn't use as much power as 2 units since they both use the same compressor. I run my system on 1000 watts solar, 600 amps lithium, and a 3000 watt inverter. But I don't heat with my unit, I use the propane for that. With that said we try not to be where it is hot. We can run all the regular things like computer, TV and the like and 2 extra things at any one time. So either microwave, mini split, microwave, toaster oven, toaster oven, mini split, etc. I have a good pure sine wave inverter, 6 lithium batteries that can put out as much as 900 am until they are dead. • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  Год назад +2

      Great questions. It really depends on I guess where you plan to be. We do great in the West where there isn't much humidity and it isn't too hot. As an example where we are in Eastern Washington right now it is 93 and full sun. I have 1000 watts and 6 lithium batteries and at the end of the day I will be down about 90 amp hours for the day. But we only run it from about 11 to 6. When we were in Georgia last year we had to run it 24x7 so we ended up plugging in and we were by some trees that didn't help with solar production. In Georgia it was 100 with 100% humidity so the AC had to work the hardest and it was pulling 13-14 amps to run the AC. Here it is only running between 6-9 amps.

The unit being about 12 inches and my trailer having a 7 foot ceiling means I can't mount it at least 6 feet off the floor. It looks like your unit is mounted less than 6 feet off the floor, have you had any issues with heat/cold dispersement? Or did you solve that with the extra fans. Thanks.

    • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching Aleks. What the factory wants are idea and anything you take away does or can make it not as efficient. What I have done works for us. I only have about 3 inches open above my unit and it is only at best maybe 6' from the floor. If I had room which I don't I would have put 2 heads in, one in front and one in the bedroom. But what I have now is way better than I had and it does the job. I usually keep my unit about 70 however if the back of the unit is in the sun the bedroom is usually a little warmer. But the old units barely would keep us 10 degrees lower than the outside temp. This one can keep us at 70 even when it is 100 outside. So over all we are happy with it and would do it again.

    • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  Год назад

      Thanks for watching Tim. All power coming into an RV is 110. If you have a 50 amp rig then you get 2 110 volt lines which are like a house, however, it is different on an RV because they are NOT normally combined to make it a 220-volt link like in a house. Now there are people that know a lot about voltage that may make changes to a rig to make it appear as 220 but that is not normal. In a standard RV, you just have 2 circuits of 110. A 30 amp rig is 110 volts and even though the plug looks like a dryer vent plug which is 220 it is not wired as 220 in fact if you ever plug your rig into a dryer vent you will electrify the skin of your rig which can kill someone. So don't ever plug your rigs into anything that is not meant for an RV. Basically, a 30 amp rig is 30 amps of 110 service and a 50 amp rig is 100 amps of 110 service (2 50 amp 110 volt lines)
