So interesting. I went to York years ago - Langwith used to be between Derwent (my college) and Vanburgh. I don't think there was an East and West campus then... the odd college out was Alcuin, because it was over the bridge. Derwent in those days was known as the 'party college', because it was the only college that had a big social space. Club D was what it was all about! It's changed so much!.Good to hear about it and get a bit nostalgic.

I’m in year 12 and I wanna apply to York but coz I’m from London it feels very scary
A non-British European student at Lancaster University has reportedly suffered discrimination this year due to his greater concerns about the virus. Reportedly, this discrimination was first exercised by other students, and then exacerbated by the university staff who reviewed the case.
Against xenophobia: monitor, report, share. Never permit it.
York’s my first choice uni and i’ll be on campus East so maybe see you next year! X

I got on offer from york for next year, but looking at the accomodation prices, id have to get my first, second or possibly thrid choice of accomodation to be able to afford to rent and also afford food lmao might risk it idk

@Lana Joy York in general isn't that diverse unfortunately. Apparently this year there's more diversity but not much compared to places like Manchester
How helpful are teachers and staff for business students?
@@gymwolf00 I think like all professors/teachers, you'll need to reach out to them and have a good relationship with them to get the most out of it. They have designated office hours for this that you can attend.
I wouldn't say that they were marginally worse or better than any other subject.

Only really if someone knows someone in another college, otherwise we tend to stay in our own. Only went to one pres on east that wasn’t constantine xx

I’m doing psychology at York St. John (if I don’t get into my firm) because I’m not smart enough for actual York
my insurance is also york st john for history
I have an unconditional from York St. John if that counts LMAO
What college is the most musical?
Pretty sure Vanbrugh is quite musical, there’s some music rooms I believe (but don’t quote me on that) x
I'm doing a postgrad in Music at York at the moment and Vanbrugh is closest to the music department which is really helpful but the Music Soc practice rooms are in Derwent!
Vanbrugh is known as the musical college because of its choir, the Garage recording studio and the Vanbrugh Rocks programme. You don't necessarily need to be in Vanbrugh to utilise the last two though (not sure about the choir) so it doesn't make to much of a difference as to what college you're in
Hi!! I agree with the comments on here about Vanbrugh being the most musical of all of the colleges but if you want to be on east campus for any reason (i.e. bigger beds or closer to a department) Langwith have music rooms and a live lounge every term where anyone can sign up to perform 😁

Yeah, it’s a pretty big thing at most unis if i’m honest, loads of people go out with the sole purpose of getting a shag at the end of it 😂 But you don’t have to engage in it if you don’t want to obvs & there’s still tons of people who just go out to have fun & drink etc
