Well to be fair to Kiefer Sutherland, he may have had a different interpretation and one we may have liked. However, casting James Spader was definitely the silver-tongued devil we needed to portray as Raymond "Red" Reddington.
As good as Kiefer Sutherland is, I cannot imagine him one second playing Reddington, it literally would have been a completely different series. Also, y'all are really harsh on Megan Boone she seems like a lovely person...

While the ensemble is a tight, talented cast, it's James Spader who is the major standout. If Meghan griped ( if this is true) about being behind him, she needs to step off her high-horse & recognize her great fortune to watch & learn from a pro. I can't imagine Kiefer Sutherland tossing out these witty passages or quips written for Reddington 's character. Spader was meant to act this part..the show could lose Meghan B w/o major consequence but never Spader!
if she said that it would be embarrassing for her. the writers made her a hated character for years even being glad she died. her issue shouldve been with the writing room. plus she was new in the acting game and james has decades under his belt and was very generous. i couldn't imagine claiming that i was as good as him with nothing in my favor and still look him in the eye all day. christ.
I really love Reddington. He takes the shot, while everyone else are standing around not knowing what to do. The FBI wants to put the bad guy into the system, while Reddington has no time for such niceties. He takes the shot.

I am a HUGE fan of Blacklist. The storyline is amazing and the casts are all perfect. Yes I wd love to see Tom and Samar back into the fold. But Red and Dembe just made this whole MCO thingy bearable. My family and I watched Blacklist again (back to back everyday) from season 1 to season 7. And now the continuation of what's going to happen between Red and Liz is making me nervous.
I am baffled that the writer’s of this show keep making Liz’s character SO dumb . Katerina tells Liz Raymond has just been using her to get information to build this big profile on people for his benefit . Really people this is just not believable that Liz could believe this story . If that was all he was up too why has he been willing to give his life for her over and over ! If he is dead he can’t use any of the information he has supposedly been using her to get ?
I agree. Liz is a FBI profiler, isn't she? As the show goes on, she seems to have lost all her ability. There are so many unrealistic or ridiculous scenes or segments on this show. Sometimes it's laughable. But it is just a TV show after all. I do enjoy it.

He is definitely better actor! And as you say it is nothing to do with equal rights or payment. My opinion is that the actress playing Agent Keen is jealous of Jame Spader. Maybe she was thinking that the main character of the show was hers, maybe it was thought to be like that, I'm not sure, because if you remember the 1st and 2nd seasons, most of it centralized on Agent Keen, there are more scenes from her, but I think in the scenes that Reddington appears you can't compared the acting quality. By the time, the acting of James was eating her character completely!! Also, I'm thinking this, because in this video, minute 6:55, there are the comments from this actress saying, "I'm no 'shading' the brilliant star of MY SHOW...". Her show??? I'm possible misunderstanding, but she is working for the creators of that TV show (director, producers, writers, sponsors, film or TV companies...), so I'm not sure, but my understanding is that she considers it her shows, because she considers that she is the main character. If that was intended to be like this in the beginning of the show, looks like all it was her fault, if she could have improved her acting, James wouldn't have eating her. A proof of it is the actress playing Mr. Kaplan, she was appearing very few scenes in each episode, and she is still better actress than the one playing Agent Keen, even the actor that played Baz is better actor than her!

Blacklist captivates you, as it seems to go round snd round, keeping you guessing on “what’s next?” For season 8, I’d like to see Elizabeth go to prison for her criminal activities, but then somehow get out of prison legally or illegally, with Red’s help, and with her pardoning him for killing her mother.

If there weren't lies or secrets, everything would be too easy and there would be no shows. Poor Lizzie, I wish she could have a happy season and really get to be a mom. We are holding on to the last 2 episodes or the previous season, so aren't totally caught up yet. I also don't want any more regulars to die or go away. I haven't warmed up to the new girl yet, but that just takes time for me. I like to keep the family unit of a show together as much as possible or its almost too much for me. i've had to leave some shows when people died or left just because I get too caught up in them. I was that way with NCIS and never went back, sadly. Bless y'all, and bless the viewers. Thank goodness for TV that can take us out of our own stress for a while.
