thats so interesting this is a trilogy, and it makes sense how flowerboy wouldnt be involved since theres no alter ego involved. I’m wondering where cherry bomb fits tho in context to being in between these trilogy’s since it also had an alter ego🧐.
The personas are as follows: Ace the Bastard, Tron Cat the Goblin, Doctor TC (Tyler's Conscious), Wolf Haley The Good and Samuel the Bad, the explosive Chur Bum, the Scum Fuck Flowerboy, Igor the hopeless, Sir Tyler Borderlaire, and finally St. Chroma.
This is great. Only think I would add is that Flower Boy is a part of the series. On Flower Boy he officially comes out and begins the journey of honesty within himself. Interesting thing too is that he starts of the song Garden Shed with someone calling into a radio show. The voice that request the song about themselves sounds like IGOR.
Another thing that isn't as big as your points is that in the music video of Thought I Was Dead, the St. Chroma uniform has a pink tie, which could be me grasping a straw, but I see as Igor Tyler putting the mask of Saint Chroma on to hide the pain of heartache.
The Igor coloured tie is just part of the overall uniform. I actually do think the tie represents Igor in someway but I’m too lazy to look more into it.
@ nah that’s literally what I thought of too lol, he doesn’t get a verse either and the background vocals go on after he supposedly dies. I still don’t know what to think about the possibility of the 3 albums being a trilogy, that’s actually a pretty cool idea and I’m excited for people to look into it.
On sorry not sorry he killed all of his alter egos, a few days ago he actually said chromakopia was the first album where everything he talked about was real things that happened so maybe thats connected
In the end of I Hope You Find Your Way Home (the last song on Chromakopia) the chord from the beginning of IGOR is played but it resolves into a different, ominous chord and then the album ends. I guess you could say that Tyler has come full circle with himself and kind of gone through a journey of self discovery and healing, but because of this strange chord at the end, I think there's more. Something deeper that we don't understand yet. This album is definitely not the end.
Same thing Mac Miller did with Circles. If you loop the album, the chords at the end of the last song transition into the chords at the beginning of the first song. Hence, Circles.
I have listened to his album a couple of times now, and each song is perfect in its own way. It is easier to listen to than some of his other work. I really love his style and the story he tells hits really hard. I can't wait to potentially see him live.
@DyNaBeAr06 idk man, It bops and goes pretty hard. I had assumptions and was initially skeptical about the feature, but honestly, Tyler knew what he was doing when he picked her. I wouldn't normally listen to another sexy redd song, but she blends in well with the craziness of this track
The bass at the end of I Hope You Find Your Way Home makes an transition into IGOR’S THEME that sounds somewhat intentional. This seems to fit with your idea of the Hero’s Journey occurring across the 3 albums.
I think on every song on the album he's trying to balance making something fun/that stands on it's own VS making something that adds to the overall narrative. I had *some* theories but to me, that song felt more of something fun that he wanted to make and didn't wanna overanalyze everything. If anyone has any theories I'm open to hear them out, though.
Great video man! After you pointed out the repeats of lines , words and colors , It made me realize it's a full story. As a huge fan of the Wolf Trilogy this got me really excited , and tomorrow I'll be listening to IGOR-CMIYGL-CHROMAKOPIA all together in a single sitting. I think this new trilogy should be called the " Light Trilogy, " or the " Mask Trilogy. " That's just me , though.
Something I noticed personally between Igor and Chromakopia is on Igor the story is about Tyler revolving his whole world and mood around one person whereas on Chromakopia Tyler talks about his problems with not being able to settle down and cant find love with one person, thats just something I noticed tho
There was a chord I heard him use on Like Him that felt eerily reminiscent of Bastard. But from a whole new perspective. If you want, that might've been the moment Tyler rounded the circle on his discography.
I've been incessantly watching reviews and breakdowns on Chromakopia, this is by far THEE BEST I've heard. I love love love this video and it made me acknowledge Tyler's genius so much more! 💛
at the very end of I hope you find your way home, you can hear a very distinct and familiar synth. turns out, it transitions almost perfectly into Igor’s theme, creating the loop.
I love being able to watch artists that I've grown up beside listening to all of their albums as they come out and getting to chromakopia a beautifully twisted album that digs so deep within, it's beautiful.
As a 2010 odd future fan, I never thought I'd click on a Tyler video essay but this was actually very good and is giving me more reasons to relisten to the whole album again. Tyler has always been a once in a generation talent since 2010 expanding and building upon his sounds and now colors. Great video.💯 (btw Tyler's been talking about having kids since "Wolf". He always said his daughter would be named Salem and his son Wolf.)
On new magic wand it says “I want to be found passenger seat of your car” and on I thought I was dead it says “I don’t want to be found” and “forget my new magic wand”
you know .. similar to the theme of finding your inner light- and inner acceptance, this theme of finding your true self was prevalent in not just his coming out album Flower Boy, but too in Cherry Bomb. Many times the idea of attaining “wings” to “fly” is mentioned, as in PIOLET the lyrics “You can buy a car, you can buy many things. You can buy happiness, but you can’t buy wings” ,followed by “I just wanna fly,” and “I just wanna find my wings”… God I love Tyler’s work so much 😭
To add to your theory, I could see “Flower Boy” making Tyler’s series a tetralogy instead of a trilogy. That album starts at a new chapter/beginning (“Forward”) most notably with “Garden Shed” in the middle, ending with “Enjoy Right Now” before “Glitter” where Tyler pursues a crush … this all could lead right into the events of Igor. 🤔
i appreciate you for helping me understand the message and journey of this album. now that i understand the message this album has turned into a 10/10 for me and has helped me out in my own journey to find my own light and your reasonable for that. i needed this message rn THANK YOU TOFU
An aesthetic theory I have and don’t hold me on this it may be a stretch but who knows but I feel like this is a whole callback to the old horror movie eyes without a face where a girl is wearing a face mask of her face to hide her underneath as she undergone surgery (this is what I remember so if I got it wrong I apologize) and Tyler has the same type of look and mask so I think Tyler is showing how he has to surgically remove himself for others and now he’s wearing this mask that shows his face to hide how he feels deep inside as his feelings have been tormented until later he gets the realization and inner light to remove the mask and show himself with a beautiful face again and also the music videos are shot in this gritty old silent horror movie film aesthetic a bit (mostly noid to possibly show the horrors of paranoia) but this was my theory
This video's editing blew my mind, i seriously didn't expect this great editing from a channel with not as many views/subs as others that are way worse at editing. Chasing The PooKa From Big Thumpers to Carrot Colored Buses, In Celtic folklore, a pooka (*púca* in Irish) is one of the most enigmatic and mischievous spirits, known to appear in dark, wild, and rugged landscapes. This nature spirit, often described as a dark horse with blazing eyes, finds an interesting parallel in modern symbolism, such as the LaFerrari emblem featured in the music video for Noid by Tyler, The Creator. The Pooka can take on countless forms, from a goat, wolf, rabbit, goblin, or even a human with animalistic features. The pooka's personality and purpose vary, as some tales depict it as a benevolent helper to farmers, while others show it as a trickster, luring travelers into wild rides or causing havoc in villages. Its unpredictable nature is most active during Samhain (Halloween), when the boundary between the human world and the spirit world thins. This flexibility in form and intention resonates across cultures and media, from music to marketing and even astrology, with common themes of shape-shifting, mischief, and mystery woven throughout. Tyler, The Creator’s discography can be viewed as a modern reimagining of the pooka’s shifting identities and unpredictable spirit. In albums like *Bastard*, *Goblin*, *Wolf*, *Cherry Bomb*, *Flower Boy*, *Igor*, and *Call Me If You Get Lost*, Tyler crafts a landscape of characters who embody contrasting personas and explore complex emotional realms. Much like the pooka, who oscillates between helpful and malevolent roles, Tyler's characters shift between humor and darkness, anger and vulnerability, all while captivating audiences with their multifaceted identities. His 2024 project, *Chromakopia*, further amplifies this mystique, arriving amid speculation and aligning with the unpredictable, shape-shifting nature often attributed to the pooka. Tyler’s decision to embody these characters parallels the pooka’s ability to morph between benevolence and trouble, drawing listeners into worlds where identity and intention are never straightforward. Adding yet another layer, Tyler’s Chinese zodiac sign, the Metal Goat, reinforces these themes. The Goat is known for its artistic, resilient, and charming characteristics, and it holds the eighth position in the Chinese zodiac, a number associated with balance, comfort, and prosperity. Individuals born under the Metal Goat sign are known for their creativity, artistic inclinations, and magnetic personalities, which mirror Tyler’s own style and impact. In many ways, Tyler’s approach to music is pooka-like, capturing a balance between order and chaos, mischief and meaning, while transforming his artistry into a landscape where nothing is as it seems. Tyler is a Pisces, a sign deeply connected to Greek mythology. The symbol of Pisces draws from the story of Aphrodite (Venus) and her son Eros (Cupid), who transformed into fish to escape the monstrous serpent Typhon. Representing the twelfth sign of the zodiac, Pisces embodies the culmination of all previous signs, making it highly intuitive, emotional, and connected to the spiritual realm. The symbol of Pisces, two crescent moons joined by a line, reflects the Pisces’ duality, its bond with both the earthly and mystical, capturing a journey between spiritual enlightenment and everyday challenges. Pisces is also Ruled by Neptune, the planet of dreams, illusion, and intuition, Shout out to Pharrell. Pisces’ journey for balance between dual realms aligns with the Celtic pooka’s role as a boundary-crossing entity, as well as Tyler’s musical themes of introspection and inner conflict. Pisces individuals, much like Tyler’s own personas, tend to exist in spaces that bridge the familiar and the mystical, the grounded and the surreal. Tyler’s Piscean traits are evident in his work, which explores these realms, bringing out hidden emotions and emphasizing empathy, chaos, and compassion. Exploring the connections between folklore, Norse mythology, and Tyler, The Creator’s artistry reveals an underlying resonance. The name “Inglewood” itself is thought to derive from “wood of the Ing,” a reference to the Norse god Ing, or Yngvi-Freyr often simply called Freyr. Which translates as “Lord,” is a Norse god associated with agriculture, fertility, and, interestingly, the horse cult. His mythological narrative closely aligns with themes Tyler explores in Chromakopia, especially through Freyr's connection to power, creation, and even eroticism. In Norse myth, Freyr is famously represented by a prominent phallic statue in the Temple at Uppsala, an image that parallels some of the raw, provocative themes Tyler addresses in Chromakopia. Freyr’s myth also involves a significant act of sacrifice, a giving-up of his sword to marry his beloved, which highlights themes of desire, vulnerability, and the balance of power. Freyr’s boar, Gullinbursti, whose glowing mane illuminates his path, also symbolizes the clarity and illumination gained through self-sacrifice-a quality Tyler often infuses into his layered personas across albums like Goblin, Wolf, Igor, and Call Me If You Get Lost. This mythological context gives new depth to Tyler’s symbolic choices and characters, who often traverse similar arcs of inner conflict, transformation, and self-revelation. Through each lens, be it folklore, astrology, or branding, these icons illuminate the human experience of engaging with the unknown and finding meaning within life’s contrasting forces. Across cultures themes of shape-shifting, mischief, and mystery reveal a deep, universal fascination with duality and transformation. Figures like the pooka, the Freyr, and modern symbols such as the LaFerrari horse and the Noid, embody a primal energy that speaks to humanity's ongoing dance with the unknown. Tyler, The Creator’s work channels this ancient archetype into a contemporary context, Whether in myth or media, these symbols remind us of the powerful allure and timeless intrigue of mystery, reflecting our collective desire to bridge the realms of imagination and reality.
The “reference” to the kid in CMIYGL was not at all connected to this and more of a throwback to a really old video of him and Clancy’s daughter where he made a joke about her being his. I see where you might get confused if you didn’t follow early internet odd future that closely.
Each album gave me more chills than the previous and now that I know it's all connected gave me frostbite. It's a musical masterpiece and honestly one I personally needed to help me with my own answers. Tyler's light keeps shining brighter and brighter and I wonder how far that guy will go.
its nice and wholesome that he brought his mom to narrating this part of his story. new one after struggles and more before getting to a point to embrace himself.
I have a theory: St Chroma is Igor’s twin. Green is the opposite of pink, which is quite a coincidence. And also, they are polar opposites. Igor is hard gay, soft, and submissive. St Chroma is evil, got a girl pregnant, and very dominant and harsh. There are many other signs that Igor and St Chroma could be related.
nah, his Igor character is pretty selfish. Chromakopia is his most mature album ever. I don't think it's a character but Tyler himself taking his mask off. His chromakopia character is his insecurity and immaturity. Kinda the same way Wolf was his mature character and Sam is his immature character except Wolf IS Tyler, which is what Tyler said as well in an interview, but now he is St. Chroma. He always represents his evolution as characters because it speaks from what he was at that time. And he could always pinpoint how he was at the time, because that's his self expressed in an art form. At the end of Goblin he said, it's all you. That's the twist of the trilogy. The characters were just a representation of him and his artworks, paintings of himself in a fictional world.
Every edit is artistic and offers depth. The storytelling is next level and your work is top notch. Great job Tofu Media. @TylerTheCreator needs to see this asap. 👏
Tomorrow is also a parallel or relation to Boredom on Flower Boy and Running out of time Igor. One of his continual messages to us and himself to be aware of and use your time wisely and with love.
in chromakopia he seems to try to get into his father persona. hes wearing a green outfit that resembles Nigeria colors, the country of his father which he never met.
The lyric is "The last year has been rough, it spreaded to my head. I knew it when we met, if you're reading, it's too late". This sounds more like some form of terminal illness (probably cancer) rather than suicide.
@Chalk.... that's true but something spreading to your head could mean suicidal thoughts or just a dark state of mind, the cancer one does make a good amount of sense also
When I was listening to Chromakopia, I was thinking about it and realized that there could possibly be a connection, glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.
Literally Tylers works are all what true albums are, creative works expressing the creators feeligns and stories with them, going from the edgy teen tyler in bastard wolf and goblin, developing into the mature tyler developing through cherry bomb and then his true self being better expressed through flower boy, igor, cmiygl, and chromokopia all cohesively telling tylers stories and feelings as he goes on developing as a person.
i agree with everything youre saying but in Dogtooth him saying “if you dont know my daughter name” is actually a reference to a vine he made ab his “adopted daughter esmerelda” and his old vines are referenced multiple times in this song
Another wild point is most of Bastard was about Tyler hating his dad for not being there.. And now we get mom on the new album saying she kept dad away when he wanted to be there
What did you think of Chromakopia? I'd put it up there with Igor as Tyler's best work.
If you enjoyed the video, please drop a like! Thanks!

Wow i really like your take on this
Amazing comment. W!
Please do one for Ye/Kanye and Kendrick coz I know they're probably on this type of time as well.
Guys, if you listen closely, the end of chromakopia fits nearly perfectly with the beginning of igor’s theme
no it doesn’t it’s two different cords
You Described it pretty well , This album was really different and NICEEEEE
The “reference” to the kid in CMIYGL was not at all connected to this and more of a throwback to a really old video of him and Clancy’s daughter where he made a joke about her being his. I see where you might get confused if you didn’t follow early internet odd future that closely.
Thank you lol! Esmeralda lmao😂
She cant talk she got deported from mexico
Each album gave me more chills than the previous and now that I know it's all connected gave me frostbite. It's a musical masterpiece and honestly one I personally needed to help me with my own answers.
Tyler's light keeps shining brighter and brighter and I wonder how far that guy will go.
do the two guys at tofu media switch turns between editing, and narrating
We do! We upload every week, taking turns making videos- but we bounce stuff off each other as we go.
its nice and wholesome that he brought his mom to narrating this part of his story. new one after struggles and more before getting to a point to embrace himself.
This story seems a little sticky.
i see what you did there
Better get a mop!
"ITS GETTIN STICKY🔥🔥"
😂
"STICKY STICKY STICKY"
this is howyou do a thumbnail
The characters were just a representation of him and his artworks, paintings of himself in a fictional world.
awesome editing
8:02 sounds like he read The Alchemist before he made this album
Once I.H.Y.F.Y.W.H unveiled Easter Eggs at another Album, watching how that peak cinema conclusion goes is an honorary salute.
Every edit is artistic and offers depth. The storytelling is next level and your work is top notch. Great job Tofu Media. @TylerTheCreator needs to see this asap. 👏
Thank you!! Appreciate the support, it means a lot
“He finds out the problems are within and is ready to open up and be honest with himself”
…that one hit
Oh wow this really is his Mr morale
Tomorrow is also a parallel or relation to Boredom on Flower Boy and Running out of time Igor. One of his continual messages to us and himself to be aware of and use your time wisely and with love.
colors, man
great editing, great analysis, great video man
It’s almost like Tyler produced these albums wow
So much of this kind of stuff goes over my head all the time. 😅 Great video!
in chromakopia he seems to try to get into his father persona. hes wearing a green outfit that resembles Nigeria colors, the country of his father which he never met.
wow this video is insanely good and majesticly edited
3:53 there is st. Chroma on one of the necklaces
I THINK YOU'RE TOTALLY ON POINT & GIVE US THE BEST INTERPRETATION OF TYLER'S MUSIC.. .🕯️☮️🕊️🎧🏴
I appreciate this breakdown, Thank you. ✌🏽
In addition to this, the end riff in "I hope you find your way home," transitions into "Igor's Theme," just like "ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?"
There’s also a bunch of samples from the previous (at least 2?) albums within this album, like some of the yells and adlibs.
wait Judy in Judge Judy dies of terminal cancer? I thought it was suicide.
The lyric is "The last year has been rough, it spreaded to my head. I knew it when we met, if you're reading, it's too late". This sounds more like some form of terminal illness (probably cancer) rather than suicide.
@Chalk.... that's true but something spreading to your head could mean suicidal thoughts or just a dark state of mind, the cancer one does make a good amount of sense also
Nah you're so fucking smart with the igor color pink inverted being chromokopias green
CAN U FEEL THE LIGHT, INSIDE, CAN U FEEL THE FIRE, (can u feel it?) FIREEEE. (fireeaaa) FIREEEE
This album trilogy really like the book "The Alchemist" fr
great video thank you!
At the end of 'I Hope You Find Your Way Home' there is a small part of synthwave signifying that it goes back to the start of IGOR
When I was listening to Chromakopia, I was thinking about it and realized that there could possibly be a connection, glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.
this album will become an instant classic 🔥
Wow- love this!
I’m still insanely proud of myself for being part of the community discovering his secret story from goblin > wolf.
you forgot to talk abt pickle rick in chromakopia...
Every single one of Tyler’s albums are intentionally connected and overlap, excluding Cherry Bomb
Cherry Bomb is just kinda there
where'd you learn to edit, and what softwares? it's so smooth.
My goat frrrr🐐
it’s assumed that judy died from cancer, she could have been talking about a mental disorder too in the terms of “it spreaded to my head”
One of the very few rappers that you can actually call an artist
i agree with everything youre saying but in Dogtooth him saying “if you dont know my daughter name” is actually a reference to a vine he made ab his “adopted daughter esmerelda” and his old vines are referenced multiple times in this song
Another wild point is most of Bastard was about Tyler hating his dad for not being there.. And now we get mom on the new album saying she kept dad away when he wanted to be there
is bro onto something?!?!
