  • In this 4th and penultimate episode, the short 8 and a half mile journey is packed with features. We see evidence of the original turf wall built in 122 and the Stone wall which replaced it in 138. A 12th century castle is accompanied with another fort at Birdoswald. The most complete and best preserved Milecastle is explored at Poltross Burn and we see another Roman Bridge at Willowford. Apart from an abundance of turrets we also see the remains of a Roman Signal Tower at Pike Hill. After some more impressive sections of the wall we see the very last section of wall going west at Harehill. As usual the 30 minute flight is set to some more atmospheric and dramatic music from Scott Buckley

These videos should be shown in all the schools in England! What a great history lesson and much better than a history book. Also great photography again, Jon.
