"I'm pretty exhausted" Ya think??? Man, that was one EPIC ride! My longest was 103 miles and I'll probably never do that again. Great job! Glad you didn't get hurt bad on that wipeout! Time for recovery! 🙂
Total respect for what you've accomplished. Those last 18 miles...... anyone who has gone any kind of personal best long distance bike ride; be it 30 miles, 50 miles or a hundred plus knows the suffering you were going through! Having ridden the D&L from Bristol to the top at White Haven (not all at once!) I know how that grade stiffens outside Rockport to the top at White Haven. That had to be an extra bit of physical and mental torture for you on top of the totality of being on that bike for 24 hours. All the best and always, stay safe!!
Overall had a great ride, it’s interesting to see how far I’m capable of riding the bike, it’s a very interesting realm you enter mentally after riding that long, I’ve doing long rides for a few weeks now, trying to get comfortable with it. That last 25 is all up hill and gets a bit strict up near the top, if it was flat I probably could have handled it better, but was physically hitting the wall, and trying to relentlessly push forward. Stay tuned for more BS.
This was one of the most motivating videos I’ve watched in a long time. Time to push myself. Thanks for taking us along man. Keep it up and please keep taking us along.
From watching your recent videos I have got hyped to do some over nighters. Broke my personal highscores a couple of times in the last week. got back 6am, 19 hours in the saddle off road in the New Forest, Hampshire England. Was a lot of fun on those windy trails in the night ended up having to take my boots off and hike through a river in the darkness at one point. That was an amzing video hope your leg is ok from the fall. @@TravelingThru222
That was some achievement. I like to snack on dates. Good sugar and a different texture. Glad you weren't hurt any worse. That bike is a workhorse. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
That was a crazy ride, training for a long distance race. I struggle with the diet thing out on the bike. Trying to work on it. The Epic is a game changer.
Man, what an amazing feat of endurance. You are in exceptional shape. I know you haven't announced what event you are training for but I have a wild guess, but I'll keep my thought to myself. Don't want to be the spoiler. Take care of yourself brother.
Your channel is the best by a long way. Your content is epic, and to top it off, you come across as the nicest guy. Keep rolling brother (also, the race is 2750....thats pretty close to something you rode before, just sayin!)
Cool, we live in New Hope. Love this video. EDIT: Those cliffs are in Upper Black Eddy and is very well known for ICE climbing as those cliffs drip water and face north. But, Ralph Stover (High Rocks) is a bit more south has some decent rock climbing, but isn't the Gunks :) And you hit the 1st century mark almost at our house. And I jog across that foot bridge between Lumberville PA and Bulls Island State Park in NJ most days of the week.
Awesome, thanks for the tips. I’ve been meaning to get back down and go over that bridge. Beautiful area, Hope I see you out there. The D&L has become my training ground. You can find me most days in the Lehigh Gorge.
Wow, 250 miles that's a lot!!! My personal record is 192 miles and I started at 3am as well. I think the secret to ride long miles are to keep up the speed. I know the end is painful and tiering but you did it! I need to try again and try 250 or least 220. I rode 17 hours straight and you rode 24 hours straight. That's funny that we want to do these crazy rides. 😅
Awesome, the secret is just keep moving forward and yeah 3:00am start, or early start is crucial. I’ve been training up this, becoming very comfortable with 150-200. I have my eye on 300. We love to ride, this is just what we do. Hope you go for 200 soon.
What a beautiful route and what a feat! That’s insane! Does a lightweight carbon bike with suspension fork make that much difference? Obviously you were riding very efficiently and comfortably.?. I’m struggling with comfort and I can’t imagine consecutive, big-mile days like you do. Day after day. Great job!
I'm thinking the whole time this guy is crazy then I remembered that I drove a BMW motorcycle from West Virginia to Denver Colorado (1500 miles) in 23 hours and 48 minutes completing a Bum Burner Gold. So this guy seems totally sane.
@@TravelingThru222 we did that ride 2 up which is a little more challenging. Alaska is still on our bucket list and now we have Airstream Interstate class B RV which seems like cheating after riding a motorcycle all over the country. It's really nice to put the bicycles on the back and do day trips.
Huge effort man! Better be careful these extreme rides will become addictive. Two channels i follow that do mad rides and more is Joseph Kendrick look at his video "Cycling Around Australia in the UK" and the beast Nick Pelletier "CYCLING MEXICO - EPISODE 9 ~ [Rain, Fire, & a 406km Day]" and My First Ultra Marathon - 140km (87 Miles) Solo & Unsupported . This could be you soon!
All good, slept for 4 hours and felt pretty good. Definetly got a good quad workout, but was feeling fine. I have been working up to this mileage, I’ve been riding huge days 150-200.
THATS AWESOME BUT FOOD AND FLUID INTAKE HAS ALOT WITH HOW WE PERFORM....I AM A NURSE OF 20 YEARS ....I BELIEVE AS A CYCLIST WE HAVE TO RESPECT OUR BODIES AND OUR RIDE.....🎉😅
"200+ mile days, and roughly 20 hours of saddle time daily,........for weeks." What? At that rate in 170 weeks you could be at the moon. And just think, after you get out of the Earth's gravity well, it won't matter how much your bike weighs. I have enough trouble doing a 20-mile commute.
TRAVELING THRU I AM NEW TO YOUR CHANNEL AND I JUST LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BUT WHAT WAS THIS VIDEO TRAINING ON BIKE WRECKING..... IM SURE WE WOULD ALL LIKE TO KEEP YOU AROUND FOR MORE VIDEOS BUT SUICIDE BIKING 😱

That turned into a rough one, hell of a fun ride. Hope you go for some big miles.

Only one word to describe "INSANE"!
Roll On.
Helluva ride, boom.

Man! Part crazy mixed with beast! Glad you’re ok.
You and me both!
Wow! that was crazy. I'll think of this when I hit my big 25 miles and don't want to go any further. Haha. Thanks for the inspiration!
Glad you liked the video, that was a rough one. 200 miles is so much easier.
I did 45 and acted like I am the toughest man on earth. Dude man is drinking a pepsi with 45 to go after 202. Hat is off to you man.
Thanks man, and you are the toughest man on earth.

Thanks, Dog. Been training hard, in the gym everyday. Sounds like you know what I’m shooting for, hang tight.

Some serious "type2 fun"

Glad you're ok... how'd you feel after the ride... like the next day or two???

Haha, I hear ya. I was totally done at 250.
INTENSE! I couldn't DRIVE 250 miles in a day.
Sure could have used a lift.
You should try Drink LMNT electrolytes stuffs amazing it’s got sodium potassium and magnesium stuff is really good. Congrats on the double century +✌️

Haha, a couple times...that day.
You should have stopped for the coffee. 24 oz and a bag of pretzels.
I totally should have stopped at that final gas station, regretted missing that the whole way up, that final stretch was a 25 mile climb.
Do you still have your cat.
Still got the kitty, his named turned into “Buck”. Alive and well, and biting my face daily.
Dude.
Pretty much.
