Просмотров 2,3 тыс.День назад
Hello everybody, thanks for following along on another adventure. I this video I roam the streets of New York City on my Specialized Epic Hardtail, A bit over biked in the city, but that bike is just so much fun to ride. I think i might try to build up a city bike for just these occasions. Had a great time riding over The George Washington Bridge then following The Empire State trail south into...

Hello Everyone, In this short video a friend and I head East to Breezewood PA, where we pick up the Pike 2 Bike Trail. The route is an 8 mile stretch of abandoned PA Turnpike, shut down in the 70's, there are still 2 huge tunnels left for nature to recover. This stretch of Trail is just off of Bike Route S, and this route is included in The Race Across PA, from Pittsburgh, To Philadelphia. The ...
Scratch On The 2024 Tour Divide
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.День назад
Hello Everyone, This video is about my scratch attempt at riding the tour divide 2024. I made it over 600 miles to Helena, Montana where I woke up in a hotel room with a big swollen knee. I waited around town for a few days but realized the swelling wasn't going down and my tour divide was lipping away. Its always a hard decision to quit something you have put so much energy into, but it the en...

Cool video! I'm not a city guy but I would love to visit NY! Cheers
Took me a second on the v/o. Hehe
Ha, Michael Scott.
Nice. Next year.
Maybe, we’ll see how it goes.
What type of bike you riding? Trying to convince myself to try bikepacking. Soooo many different bikes.
I hear ya, it can be a tough choice. I would buy used personally, and I’d shoot for a 29er. I’m riding a 2020 specialized epic hardtail.
29er hardtail is the Swiss Army knife of the cycling world. You can ride it basically on any terrain
NYC is a great place to ride.
@@jonathanbenn2241 always a fun ride.
Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for taking us along! Reminds me of riding in downtown Seattle. Glad to see your back.
Happy thanksgiving, I’ve yet to get to Seattle. But it’s on the list. Thanks for watching.
I think I remember you did Colorado before?
I have a ridden across Colorado 3 times and walked across the Rocky Mountain state once. Happy thanksgiving.
👍
Thanks for watching
Great NYC adventures. I really enjoyed this.
Glad you enjoyed it! More to come.
Great video and soundtrack, great to see your little bus intro showed back up, have a great Thanksgiving !!
Happy holidays, my friends. I put the bus in there for you, thanks for watching.
Awesome camera angles. That last construction zone area looked ugly. Stay safe out there. Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks, dog. Happy holidays.
Another great video!
Thanks again!
Wonderful, have you ever been to New York City before on your bike?
I have biked new York a few times, always lots of fun.
What’s the song you used starting around 3:06? Such a great groove!
Better you then me. Wow!! To much traffic for this country boy. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
Lots of traffic, it’s easiest just to jump in. Thanks for watching.
The cycling in open looks totally different than in cities. Whatever the place is one must enjoy the moment. And you are good at it.
I just love traveling, from cities to mountains. Thanks for watching.
Mas cafe!
Always.
@@TravelingThru222💯
No bears??? WTF?
What bike are you riding
That’s a 2020 Specialized epic hardtail.
Love riding inNYC
There’s nothing quite like it.
Tunes are A+ in this one. Riding and such was nice too.
Glad you like them!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I'd love to cycle NYC someday. I love urban riding. I thought that there were more designated bike shoulders in NYC. I guess what I was seeing was the Empire State Trail bike lanes. Where exactly does that trail system end in the city?
The Empire State trail ends in lower Manhattan, nyc is very bike friendly.
@TravelingThru222 Thanks for the feedback. It's definitely on my list to do someday.
NOPE NOPE NOPE!! You are a brave soul, my friend. Love the video, but NOPE
😁 I get it. Such a fun day.
Great video, thanks! Neat to see NYC again. It's wilder than the wild west along the Great Divide in Montana. The question, would you rather cross paths with a grizzly near Elkford, BC, or a pissed off driver in NYC? ☮
I think I would rather deal with an nyc taxi cab driver over a grizzly, both unpredictable but I think I’d be better matched against a human. Haha
Love riding in NYC. In Sept did Erie canal and empire state trail finishing up in Manhattan. Riding over Broadway Bridge from Bronx to Inwood is always an experience. Overall cycling infrastructure in NYC is quite good although there is a ton of construction going on with the bikepath over along East River. It's a bit of a mess.
I checked into the broadway bridge, maybe I’ll included it in my next video. Thanks for the tip.
I’d love to ride through NYC! I don’t think I have the sack for it but might have to try it anyway.
You should do it, it’s not that hard. Let’s meet up and ride it together.
@TravelingThru222 that would be awesome! If I'm ever up that way with my bike, I plan to be in 2025, I'll certainly reach out.
Got my respect, walked through it a few times that was enough!
Heck of a great place to be. Thanks for watching.
Nice tour. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow. Brave man! Take care
Thanks, you too!
Thanks, you too!
Looks hectic, but fun.
Great time.
Sweet ride. Nice!
Sure is!
I'd rather bike through peanut butter mud than bike through Times Square. Even walking through there is a pain in the ass. You also quickly realized that the Avenues are not too hard to navigate. It's the Streets that can be a pain. Things can get claustrophobic really fast, especially when there's construction or garbage trucks are collecting. Good times. ❤😂
Haha, I hear ya. Much is always a great time.
Check it!
Lol
Cool ride remember a bike race in Harlem back in the 70’s.
I bet that was interesting.
I could never bring myself to visit that city just tooooooooo many people. I don't do well in large towns at all. Best of travels buddy.
NYC might not be for everybody, but it’s always a great ride. Thanks for watching.
Humans, concrete and greyness everywhere..yikes. Deffo not my jam but nice vid regardless..👍
I hear ya, thanks for watching.
That looked a little too kaotuc . Enjoyed the vid
The chaos is a bit organized somehow.
Just awesome
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching.
What's the chirpy sounds?
Birds, traffic, more than likely bike computer. That’s a Wahoo Element Im rockin there.
Have to say you get around traffic as if you were a NYC bike messenger ha, ha. Thanks for the look, be well.
It’s all about just diving in, thanks for watching.
Love that you change it up. A man of the mountain trails mixing it up on the mean streets.
Haha, the old switcharoo. I’m a traveler, I love the big cities, small towns, and desolate wilderness. I find beauty in it all. Thanks for watching.
Did you hold a camera the whole time!😮
Yeah, pretty much.
Oh heck no but if it was my only choice. Lol. Definitely less boring compared to my biking 😅
Fair enough!
Great video! Looks a bit strssful riding in Manhatten!
There’s nothing quite like riding NYC, it’s always a great time.
Hey we miss your intro with music and video like you used to do I'd like to do the 5 burials ride sometime Thanks for taking us along
Intro, check. I’ll see what I can do.
I can’t wait to see what kind of coffee you got
Yep, the good stuff.
It's not a safe place to ride 😮
@@yanlap2183 sure it is. Bike lanes everywhere
Yeah, but just one hell of a great ride. Risk and reward.
Hey, that’s not a squirrel!
Hit up Terry B. If he featured you on his channel, you'd get a lot of subs I bet.

Cool! Whered ya park in Jersey?
Fort Lee Historic park, metered parking. Opens at 5:00 am.
@ awesome, thanks
Update: I saw on TV where there is some re paving going on with the Alabama side of the trail, and talk of extending it some.
Great, thanks for the update. I need to plan another trip south.
