What improvements do you think need to be made in College Football?

Punish KNOWN cheaters like UM in season and don't let them taint the playoffs only to vacate "wins" later down the road. UM stole seasons from OSU and now Bama. That's not right

For the calendar change what about finals week?

  • @BeachBumZero

    Need league commissioner
Need some type of contract signed for any NIL players that ties them to the team for multiple years.
    NIL cap for all teams
Also need helmet comms for all teams to eliminate the sideline signing.

Shows how much media companies care about academics. The “calendar fix” completely ignores final fall semester exams for student athletes. He wants them to constantly be in playoff games then. Who cares about the players not going to the NFL or getting NIL who will need an education to depend on.

I completely agree. I like Joel Klatt, and I agree with him on a lot of college football issues. However, this is one solution on which I disagree with him. You absolutely cannot have players preparing for a CFB playoff or bowl game while simultaneously studying for finals. No way. He needs to go back to the drawing board on this one.

      Touché! 🏆
For Universities to maintain any level of integrity, the athletes are students _first_! Students should be its priority not the money CFB brings into the universities.
On the coattail of your education comment, I believe it is less than ~1% of CFB players make it to any player-paid post CFB employment. Meaning nearly 99% of them are truly "student-athletes" and need the education for their future.

@@anthonyallen3328 Start the playoffs around the 20th of December. They would end before most spring semesters start. Give up on the arbitrary meaningless idea of ending on New Year’s Day. Only a 3 week break.

The single biggest factor to all decisions _must_ be the Universities academic calendar. Now perhaps they need to be adjusted/syncronised for a best outcome, although not very likely to happen, but these decisions need to be made around what is best for the athletes as students. They should remain students first in the eyes of the Universities. Money should not be the first priority to changes in CFB.

We already have an association governing the sport. It's called the NCAA. The problem is the money generated by the sport via media rights has taken control of the post season. All other NCAA sports have inclusive bracket systems leading to the championship game without 3-4 weeks of down time.

My ultimate dream for college sports is to have a rule that a player can only play for a school within their home state! They must have held residency there at least 5 or more years. Only then would you truly know which schools and states are the best. It wouldn’t be all about recruiting, stealing, portals, NL deals and all that junk.
