Was the woman screaming “Noooooo”, like she wanted Rafa to win? Either way, I noticed that too. Honestly, I wanted Rafa to win as well and I’m glad he finally did, but that wasn’t fair and showed a lack of class from the crowd. Believe me, after so many years of witnessing the European clay swing, I have come to expect this sort of hostile behavior towards the opponent of the favorite in the eyes (and lips) of the crowd, but it still offends me.
@@Tennisisreallyfunyou people have to understand that Rafa is the biggest athlete for Spain and this is the last time he will play in the Spanish capital, it’s very emotional for Spaniard, of course they were upset after Nadal lost the second

You think Spaniards are bad, you should see what we Italians do not just to whatever opposing Italian club is up against our favorite football club, but the carnage that occurs when someone from another country or, worse, from across the Atlantic comes into play! I’m surprised Jannik Sinner didn’t win the Nitto ATP Finals in five minutes because everybody else was booed off the court with pieces of fruit thrown at them. I get it, it’s a part of sporting culture, especially when significant figures are involved like Rafa or Sinner for Italy since we’re talking tennis and he’s literally seen as our God-like return to the stage. But as an Italian, this is a behavior I do not support. I feel ashamed to see my fellow people acting with such selfish disregard for the efforts of the opponents. As a tennis player in college, I know deep in my heart that I would be incredibly ashamed if I won against someone who was better than me just because the audience got into his head. There is no excuse for such a lack of class in my book, it’s immoral.
@@Tennisisreallyfun I understand but in this case the fans weren’t disrespecting or booing cachin, they just weren’t cheering for him, many clapped but they weren’t enthusiastic claps because they weren’t happy about the result. I see nothing wrong here.

@@hakanitomanchesterunited5349 He isn't as quick as he used to be, but he is such a fierce competitor and is such a master of the clay court game, that he is still a threat. If Nadal were suddenly 25 again, he would have little trouble with the likes of Alcaraz and Sinner on clay.

This match is staged...look at how Cachin nicely tees up the ball to Rafa's forehand at 0:25 even though he had plenty of time to send the ball to a more difficult spot for Rafa. This is a Circus performance and Rafa's knows it. He's just playing his assigned role of riling up an audience since he's on his way out.
He knew he's not the same player as before. This is just a way to pump himself up. Murray was doing the same. But yes, it didn't look good for former number 1s to be playing like this.
